Boy does this make my blood boil! Do you remember last Wednesday that the New York Times actually published a front page story about the multicultural tension in Grand Island, NE in the wake of Muslim prayer demands and the subsequent firing of Somalis at the Swift meatpacking plant there?
The mayor of Grand Island expressed to the Times that the presence of so many Somalis in town made her and others uncomfortable. Well that is the truth, and it is happening in every town in America where large numbers of Somalis have arrived.
Does it surprise anyone to hear now that Somali COMMUNITY ORGANIZER Mohamed Rage (we’ve heard from him before) says, “She is not fit to be mayor.”
Actually I am not surprised, but outraged by this overt ploy. This isn’t just because he is angry with this mayor, this is to send a message to any mayor or elected official anywhere in America that you better not speak the truth!
An Omaha Somali leader is asking Mayor Margaret Hornady to recant comments she made in a national publication that he says are discriminatory.
In a story that appeared Thursday in The New York Times, Hornady suggested she had difficulty adjusting to the sight of local Somali women in Muslim headdresses.
Hornady said that after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, it “gives some of us a turn.”
Seeing the Somali’s traditional dress reminds her of Osama bin Laden and the attacks on the U.S., she said, adding that she knows it sounds prejudiced and that she’s “working very hard on it.”
Mohamed Rage, who leads the Omaha Somali-American Community Organization, condemned the comments Friday and said he is trying to reach the mayor to address his concerns.
Rage said such comments are inappropriate for a leader, and the city’s Somali community has reacted with shock.
“She’s not fit to be a mayor,” he said.

Update October 21: Blulitespecial sent this news story as a follow-up. It was mostly a rehash of the story, but the thing that interested me was this:
Zapata (VP of Muliticultural Coalition) doesn’t think the mayor’s comments will set the Mulitcultural Coalition’s progress in the community back at all. But last month’s disagreement at Swift doesn’t help things. Muslims at the African grocery store said about 20 Somalis moved to Lexington to work for Tyson, some stayed in G.I. and are living off of unemployment, and others are working on a lawsuit against JBS Swift.
Do you think some of those 20 arrived in Grand Island with a mission?

I have no problem with any ones religion or their right to practices. The problem I have is they want to work as long as it works around their schedule. Same thing with smokers some use the smoke breaks just to get out of work. I believe that if you are at work you are there to WORK not just to get paid. If you do not like the freedoms that we have which the right to speak our minds then go back to Somalis or what every country you came from. Is America perfect no America is about imperfection working on becoming a better country. The problem is not America it is people who want to use the First Amendment as a weapon as long as no one fights back. Than all of a sudden the First Amendment is wrong or being misinterpret. What these people are really saying is I come from another country and now I want to abuse your freedoms so that I can tell you what to do, when to do it, and if you do not I will destroy you. Again it is called the Freedom of speech which works both ways if you say something I do not like then I have the same right to tell you how I feel. Which includes saying words that may and most likely will offend your sorry little Gluteus Maximus as long as I do not cross the line in trying to put your life or someone else’s at risk I have not violate the First Amendment. So if you do not like how we do things go back to were ever you came from and put up with the lack of freedom of speech or maybe you’re here because you took those freedoms away and now they want you back to stand trial for your crimes.

Oh sure… religion is always a problem in modern life…
… our local Christians aren’t into bombing or anything… but they fight against reason and common sense…. You know… things like evolution… Christians are seeking control of the government of this country as Christians…

Mohammedism gives folks a chance to be monolithic authorities on what is right for other people… and so does Christianity.
If the secular authorities can’t stop Christianity from imposing superstition on folks…

Theodore R. in 1907 either wrote about or spoke to people coming to america.I do not remember full text but in there he talked about adapting and allegiance to america that
“there can be no divided allegiance.”
Muslims can never have undivided allegiance to america or any other country they go to;they will always have their allegiance to arabia due to arabian origin of islam and their belief/desire to seperate themselves from all others.
That was the underlying reason of the creation of pakistan and partition of india; give them few decades in america till they get enough of them in any state and I am sure they will be asking for their seperate homeland in america.

these people need to be reminded by every possible means that they must adapt the host country’s way of life because
just by accepting to come in that country they have given the implied consent that they like that country’s way of life. if they do not adapt they must be deported back to their home countries for lying.

Rage wouldn’t dare make such statements at a public meeting here where I am.Our Mayor,is a man,and would be shown more respect.The only reason he thinks he can get away with this is because it’s long distance over the phone about the woman Mayor of Grand Island.I have sent an email of support to Mayor Hornady.
I invite Rage to hold a rally in Emporia,Kansas.Maybe some laid off,PO’d Hispanic Tyson employees will attend.

When B. Hussein Obama is President, he will set all this straight.

I am from Malaysia, a majority Muslim country. Muslim has always been discriminating people of other religions , Malay majority (Muslim) even teamed up nicely Arabs (Wahabs) to discriminate the Chinese and Indian (non Muslim) here (the major Tax payer) , using rules such as “Halal” to prevent their people of their own religion from frequenting non-Muslim eating place. While people are working hard away, they hide in their prayer room for nap. Now pushing Syariah finance all over the place. University places reserved for second graded Muslims, scholarships were given to them to study in western countries , many do not return and opted for lavish western lifestyles at the expense of taxpayers, places of worship for non Muslim were frequently bulldozered, but we have more mosques and surau than public toilets, believe it or not. Worst part, they are giving birth like rodents and numbering in dozen, always claiming to be victim of poverty. That is real sick and even they have special rights accorded to them to ensure their political dominance.
I do not know what the hell wrong with the American government and its policy, taking in all those Osama wannabe people into America. Perhaps America should take in those victims of Muslim oppressed victims as immigrants (like copts, assyrians) , why the hell Somalis – the pirate infested nation. Those victims will be more than happy to have a decent quiet home and be a productive tax payer contribute to American society.
Their biggest tragic is they want to subject their own people to the religion indoctrination, those aged old thinking put them in conflict with modern efficient society. If they want to continue having kids like rodents numbering in dozen, forever they will be too poor to be able to educate their young ones, let alone make enough living to feed their own kind. Always begging for the rich nation to help feed their kids. Calling it human tragedy ! The west had better get over its post modernist phase or its the last phase free nations will ever be able to indulge in for some long time. We have been cowed into not speaking any thought that may cause Muslims offense and Muslims have a wide and often arbitrary list of things that offend them. Read Thomas Jefferson on Islam. He had it pretty clear.
Freedom. Use it or lose it. Its a lot lot harder to get back once its gone.
