Iraqi man runs down daughter in Arizona, an honor killing attempt?

Posted by Ann Corcoran on October 22, 2009

Update October 30th:  Father arrested in Atlanta, here.

Update October 29th:   Arizona Republic editorial says Muslims must speak out against honor killings.

Sure looks like it!     I wonder if these people are among the hundreds of Iraqis being resettled in Arizona—only their resettlement agency knows for sure!

From Yourwestvalley.com:

Peoria police are searching for a man they say ran down his 20-year-old daughter in a parking lot for becoming “too ‘westernized’ and … not living according to their traditional Iraq values.”

Noor Faleh Almaleki of Surprise was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. Another woman, Amal Edan Khalaf, 43, of Surprise also was struck and is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

[….]

Detectives from the Peoria Police Violent Crimes Unit, after talking with family and friends, learned Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, of Glendale was the driver, and that he is the father of Noor Faleh Almaleki. Those interviewed also told police he was with her as she had become too “westernized” and had made threats toward her.

Again, makes my point that many Muslims have no plans to assimilate in America.

And yet still silence from the feminist groups, you would at least think the radical feminist would voice an objection. So much for solidarity and sisterhood.

I am sure they are all to busy focusing on all the various forms of misandry that they have in the works to focus on standing up for immigrant women who, although entitled to,do not the same freedoms they have, thanks to a domineering fathers and a medieval ideology.

    Hypocrites!

Reader sounds like she would like to be one of the many wives that Muslim men are allowed, and in some cases advocated, to have. She seems open to being treated below human standards where she MUST submit to every demand by her Muslim husband including rape and accepting it. But then she must know very well about REAL Muslims because I’m sure where she’s from there are plenty of them, right? You know, like there are here in Australia and Europe where we actually know of these very real Islamic atrocities that occur on a consistent basis.

The One World Government will come soon and so will the influence of Sharia Law upon our free societies because of mindless (and I bet gutless) people like Reader here because unfortunately, there are many like her opposing what is right and just, effectively advocating and ushering in evil.

let’s agree that most men are jerks, but this is about assimilation, or in this case, a lack of it as well as a general unwillingness based on religious beliefs. Do we really want to bring people here to have them suffer under the same kinds of persecution they supposedly escaped from? Or is it just the men’s persecution we should acknowledge and at the hands of their male relatives and ignore what women SHOULD have escaped from but still continue to experience? WHile most religions are misogynist, Islam has the others beat, hands down.

And yes, sorry,… but this incident has EVERYTHING to do with culture/religion.

I think it is interesting that you are able to make a generalization about all Muslims based on the actions of one man.

This incident has nothing to do with culture or “us” or “them” or who you consider worthy of being an American or your concept of assimilation. It has to do with basic human rights.

The statement you are making is the same as responding to this story with the following quote:

    http://www.kctv5.com/news/21391453/detail.html

“Again, makes my point that many white men are a danger to children and have no plans to change their behavior”.
