Rush Limbaugh is wrong about Catholic Church

Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 31, 2014

Limbaugh gets-it on immigration, so he now needs to modify what he says about the Catholic Church! http://www.politico.com/story/2014/01/rush-limbaugh-gop-to-commit-suicide-102947.html

The other day I happened to catch a bit of Rush Limbaugh’s radio program and for the first time in over twenty years found myself shouting at the radio.

If I understood him correctly in the portion of the show I heard, Limbaugh was pretty much saying that the Catholic Church/Pope was a paragon of conservatism and nothing anyone (especially Obama and pals!) could say would cause them to waver on issues such as abortion and gay marriage and for that the Left is p*****-off.

Is Rush ignorant of the role played by the hard left Catholic church in Obama’s rise in Chicago politics?

The Catholic Bishops stand to benefit financially from ‘immigration reform!’

It may be so (that the Church won’t be swayed) on those social issues, but Limbaugh apparently has no idea about how important the Catholic Church is, and especially the Bishops, on the issue of immigration and open borders.  They are as far-Left on that issue as they come, and it has little to do with compassion and everything to do with cold hard cash!

Come to think of it, I can’t really blame Limbaugh for not knowing that the Bishops are deep into the taxpayers’ wallets since the mainstream media NEVER mentions it.

The Bishops would be broke without the millions of dollars they get from US taxpayers. Then there is the taxpayer funding they get for some of the 120 illegal alien “kids” crossing the border each day. The Bishops have a contract with the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement for their care.

And, don’t forget the church helped bring the thousands of Muslims to Syracuse, NY which has now resulted in the travesty of a historic Catholic Church being converted to a mosque.

To illustrate where the Bishops are on open borders, this story from the Washington Post on Friday entitled, ‘US Catholic leaders hope church’s actions can revive immigration reform,’  pretty much says it all.

The news-hook is Obama’s visit with the Pope, but it’s all about the church’s lobbying efforts to bring about so-called ‘Comprehensive Immigration Reform’ which (if passed and signed into law) will benefit the Bishops financially as they will get more ‘clients’ (millions of clients) in need of ‘services’ (showing them how to get their welfare benefits) to add to the tens of thousands of refugees they now have on their client roster.

Read the WaPo article yourself and remember these deportation numbers are B.S. as Senator Sessions reported last week (it must be maddening for the Senator to see this propaganda).  ***Update*** More evidence that Obama is not deporting large numbers of aliens.

And, get ready for the Bishops publicity stunt at the border this week where they plan to mimic the Pope’s visit last summer to the beleaguered Italian island of Lampedusa.

Hey Rush, how about putting some qualifiers in when you praise the Bishops the next time!

France “black Sunday” as National Front party gains power

Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 31, 2014

Marine Le Pen’s National Front party shocked French socialists yesterday with wins in local elections.

From itv.com:

French voters have dealt a severe blow to Francois Hollande’s Socialist government in local elections.

The anti-immigration far right, which claims that France’s large Muslim population is “Islamicising” the nation, made solid advances, fulfilling National Front promises to begin building a grass-roots base.

Socialist leaders conceded defeat in the final round of the voting seen as a referendum on unpopular President Hollande, who was expected to reshuffle the cabinet in an effort to give his government a boost.

Vive la France !

RRW had a great last twelve months!

Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 31, 2014

I don’t know what changed, but in April 2013 something happened and our readership jumped by from 10,000-20,000 a month since then.

Just now I was checking the stats to see how we’ve been doing and noticed that remarkable trend upward.  At the same time, I checked to see from where readers were coming.  Of course the largest number comes from the US, but checking the last month I see we had readers in 148 countries in March (officially there are 196 countries in the world, give or take a few).

The top countries represented by our visitors, after the US, are (in descending order):  UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Thailand, India, South Africa, Malta and the Netherlands.  Right behind those top ten are Sweden and Norway.  LOL!  We even had 103 visitors from Saudi Arabia in March!

We are most pleased by having added 48 new followers in the past month.  We have a modest goal of adding one new follower a day, so we beat that by a mile in March.  You can follow us by signing up here (upper left hand sidebar), or follow us on facebook (here).    Yikes! 47,532 people saw our facebook page in the last week.  Half of those facebook numbers can be attributed to the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society post—bring in the Syrians.

We tweet out all of our posts here.   For a narrowly focused blog, we are overjoyed with the numbers!

If you are a new reader, we have a great search function, type in a word or two and see what we have written since 2007 about your interests.  I use it all the time to search our 5,473 previous posts!   And, if you are visiting daily you might be interested in our Top Posts (in the right hand sidebar) to see what other readers are interested in.

My deepest apologies for being so awful about checking your e-mails.  I must dump that yahoo e-mail address and get something better.  It is so filled with spam that I have to force myself to look at it and clean it up (mostly because there are only so many hours in a day and there is so much interesting news on which to post).

And, a reminder, as always, that RRW is a completely charitable project by its authors.  And, if the Catholics, Lutherans, Evangelicals, Jews, and atheists would do their work without digging into the taxpayers’ pockets, giving their own personal money and time to the poor they claim to care about, we could quit!

Syracuse: Refugee group buys Catholic Church, will be converted to a mosque

Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 30, 2014

….because Muslim refugee population is growing.

It is a cold and rainy Sunday morning and I’m not easily discouraged, but I have to say this story is depressing.  Most people don’t understand that Islam marks its victories by turning Christian churches into mosques.  Surely there are other buildings available in Syracuse.

***Update*** American Thinker has published a post on this travesty today as well.  Thanks to Judy for bringing it to my attention.

***Update April 4*** Landmark Preservation Board wimps out—crosses to be removed, here.  Hat tip: Caroline

From CNYCentral:

For close to six decades, Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church on Syracuse’s north side was Anna Giannantomio’s church. She fought the Catholic Diocese decision to close it in 2010. While she believes everyone should be free to practice the religion they choose – she doesn’t understand why a new Islamic society wants to remove the crosses and move into the historic catholic church.

“This place was put into historical preservation and rightfully so,” said Giannantomio.

Crosses to be removed:

Holy Trinity was recently purchased by the North Side Learning Center, a volunteer group that assists refugees and immigrants. North Side Learning Center will lease the church to an Islamic society which would rename it Mosque Of Jesus The Son Of Mary. The North Side Learning Center has also filed a request with the Landmark Preservation Board to remove the crosses on the steeples and grounds.  [Those who care in Syracuse should file a protest with the Preservation Board—ed]

Professor Margaret Thompson from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School says nearly 75% of refugees settling in Syracuse are Muslim and that religious freedom has been bringing immigrants to America for hundreds of years.

“Holy Trinity was founded to welcome German immigrants to Syracuse when it was originally built and now its welcoming a new cohort of immigrants,” said Thompson.

Anna Giannantomio wants everyone to have a place to worship. She immigrated from Italy as a teenager and understands the discrimination many Muslims face in America but Giannantomio wishes the church that welcomed her to the U.S. would stay a Catholic church.

“I don’t want to hurt anybody but the building should remain as it is,” said Giannantomio.

The North Side Learning Center is now making repairs to the buildings. They hope the mosque will be ready to open in June.

Syracuse refugee program is changing and we recommend if you live there you need to start researching and reporting to your local community. The Northside Learning Center is probably operating on taxpayer dollars so you have a right to demand more information about their activities.

Syracuse is a preferred resettlement site chosen by the US State Department, the Office of Refugee Resettlement (HHS) and the contractors.

New York is one of the top states with a large African and Middle Eastern Muslim population, here.  Demographic change is what it’s all about.  Once they get the population numbers almost nothing else matters.

Ironically the largest resettlement contractor, bringing the most Muslims to your towns and cities, is the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Obama push for amnesty responsible for flood of “unaccompanied minors’ into US

Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 30, 2014

They are coming in at the rate of 120 a day!

And, immigration lawyers stand ready to smooth their way!   Senator Jeff Sessions was right when he said it’s all over, amnesty is effectively here.

Attorney Felice Schonfeld advises two undocumented minors Denis Girón, 17, left, and Javier Girón, 14, brothers who crossed the Mexican border unaccompanied by adults and are now in South Florida seeking a green card. Photo: Miami Herald

From the Miami Herald (hat tip: ‘pungentpeppers’).  The story begins with the usual stars of the story and their tales of woe!

Irene Granados celebrated her 16th birthday while walking through the desert two years ago trying to reach the United States — and safety.

Brothers Javier and Denis Girón, 13 and 17, floated on a raft across the Rio Grande last year — also in a bid to reach safety.

Granados and the Girón brothers were fleeing their native Central American countries where gang violence is spreading. The three are part of a surge in unaccompanied children and teenagers flowing across the Mexican border to the United States.

Numbers, of “kids” coming alone to the US, are on the rise according to the Catholic Bishops.  We told you about the USCCB report here and reminded readers that the Bishops are making big bucks as Office of Refugee Resettlement contractors to care for some of the “kids.”

The USCCB (in their report) denied the “kids” were coming due to the lure of Obama policies; this article puts a lie to that assertion.

A report issued in November by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) showed the sharp increase. Every fiscal year between 2004 and 2011, the report said, the number of children detained by immigration authorities averaged about 6,800. But apprehensions jumped to more than 13,000 children in fiscal year 2012 and to more than 24,000 in fiscal year 2013.

Up to 120 unaccompanied youths are arriving each day, and some estimates suggest that the annual number could soon reach 60,000, according to a Feb. 21 story in the Los Angeles Times.

The “kids” expect amnesty to pass Congress and be signed into law!  Gang violence back home just the excuse!

Immigrant-rights activists say more and more unaccompanied minors are arriving for various reasons. Many are fleeing gang violence, like Granados and the Girón brothers. But children are also being sent by families who believe they could qualify for immigration reform — if Congress ever acts on it — or for President Barack Obama’s 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program known as DACA.  [The article goes on to explain that the stars of this story do not qualify as “dreamers.”—ed]

If they are too old to be “dreamers,” the “kids” in this story do qualify for green cards with the help of immigration lawyers waiting to serve them!

But some of the children arriving now can qualify for a green card if it can be demonstrated in juvenile court that the child has been abandoned, abused, or neglected. By demonstrating any of those three elements, the court can issue a dependency order. When children are adjudicated as dependent, the court assumes jurisdiction over them and that qualifies them to be considered for green-card status.

Please continue reading the article because it gives a detailed account of how the “kids” get through the legal system and will likely never leave again.

Obama has put the screws to the Republicans who will not have the fortitude to deport the 120 “kids” arriving in America every day!

And, LOL! check out that Ms. Granados says she wants to be a doctor.  I would like to have a buck for every time I’ve heard an illegal alien “kid” say they want to be a doctor—could they have been coached?

Is yours a “welcoming” city or state? If not, expect a visit from Lubell and company

Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 30, 2014

Clarkston, Georgia has signed up!

Yesterday, I gave you the latest ‘diversity is strength’ alert from Nashville, TN (Muslim immigrants busted for selling drugs from convenience stores), and I mentioned “Welcoming America” again which is the spawn of David Lubell* and “Welcoming Tennessee.”

Check out this useful graphic I found at “Welcoming America’s” website:

 Clarkston, GA!

Also, their top story was one we missed from earlier in the month—Clarkston, GA, an overloaded refugee resettlement city, has become their 29th “Welcoming City,” this at the same time that the Governor has persuaded the feds to stop sending refugees there.

Learn more about the refugee and immigrant overload in Georgia by clicking here (A pocket of resistance in the land of Jimmy Carter).

It is amazing to me how ballsy propagandists are, the average person would have no idea of the problems that Atlanta and its suburbs have experienced as the refugee and immigrant population explodes.  To read this one would think everything is just, well, beautiful.

“Welcoming America” is a federal contractor of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (Health and Human Services) so this is being done with your tax dollars.

From “Welcoming America” regarding Clarkston:

Clarkston Becomes 29th City in Nation to Join Decatur, Georgia based Welcoming America’s Welcoming Cities and Counties Initiative

Mayor Terry: Looking forward to working more with ‘Welcoming America’

Clarkston Mayor Ted Terry signs Welcoming resolution for the city.

On March 4th, 2014, Mayor Ted Terry and members of the Clarkston City Council passed a Welcoming Resolution, committing the city to building a welcoming and neighborly community in which diverse residents, including immigrants, are welcome, accepted and integrated.

Through the resolution, the City also joins Welcoming Cities and Counties, an initiative of Welcoming America that supports locally-driven efforts to create more welcoming, immigrant-friendly environments that maximize opportunities for economic growth and cultural vitality and position communities as globally competitive, 21st century leaders. Welcoming America is a nonprofit organization based in Decatur, Georgia that works across the U.S. to create inclusive, immigrant-friendly communities that expand prosperity for all residents.

The resolution (full version available here) recognizes that a welcoming community is critical to economic success for all residents, and identifies that Clarkston is committed to “enhancing its cultural fabric, economic growth, global competitiveness and overall prosperity for all individuals in the current and future generations who choose to make their home in the city.”

Said Clarkston Mayor Ted Terry, “I’m gratified that this was a grassroots effort. The residents of our city got together and worked out the details – and our government has responded in full support of Clarkston becoming a truly Welcoming community. In light of recent events, over the criminalization of gays and lesbians, in Uganda – our city felt it was important to add language that codified ALL people are welcome in Clarkston, including gay, lesbian and transgendered folks. It is incumbent upon our government to provide opportunity for all residents of our city. And I am looking forward to working with Welcoming America on a framework for the future welcoming policies of Clarkston.”

“This is a wonderful affirmation that the diverse character of Clarkston is indeed one of its great strengths,” commented Emily Pelton of Refugee Family Services, a refugee resettlement agency that works in the Clarkston community.

* See Lubell’s bio here.  La Raza gave his Tennessee group an award.

We recommend that if your state has a ‘welcoming affiliate’ that you find out more about it and sign up for any news they send out to their supporters.  Here is information on how to “join” them.

Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society: US should bring 75,000 Syrians to US over next 5 years!

Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 29, 2014

We want at least 75,000 Syrians here in the US within 5 years now that security screening has been relaxed. http://www.c-spanarchives.org/program/USRefu

We just mentioned earlier today that the public relations push was on to bring a large number of Syrians to the US so that federal contractors like the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) could be paid to locate them in your city or town.  Never mind that there are few jobs for them, and even if the Syrian civil war ends, they will never go back to Syria.

Now here comes Melanie Nezer, VP for policy and advocacy at HIAS writing at the New York Daily News—America open your arms!

The United States should commit to resettling at least half of the refugees identified by the UN Refugee Agency as needing resettlement – or at least 15,000 each year over the next five years. This should be in addition to the 70,000 refugees the U.S. has committed to resettle who are survivors of conflicts elsewhere in the world. Other countries have already pledged*** to resettle thousands of Syrians and should be urged to take more.

We watched this very same campaign with Iraq and now we are approaching (or have already topped) 100,000 Iraqis resettled in the US.

It will be a media drumbeat from now on until they get their way.  And, please take note there is no mention of persecuted Christians.

***Just for your information, here are the “pledges” received by the UN back in early February.  Most countries will only take a few hundred, except for Germany which apparently has a death wish.

Addendum:  I just had an afterthought!  There is a lot of fresh territory for refugees in Wyoming!

Syrians unhappy in Sweden, not what they expected

Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 29, 2014

You can’t make this up!

First we have Sweden welcoming any Syrians to their country who can get there—-thousands have arrived so far.

Then Sweden whines that they can’t carry the whole load and other European countries must step up and share the burden.

And, now we have Newsweek doing a photo spread showcasing 12 unhappy Syrians in Sweden!  What happened to being grateful they are alive!

…one of the unhappy men who wants to go home to Syria.

And, what is the use of being “welcoming” then?

Newsweek thanks to ‘pungentpeppers’ for spotting it:

Once they were respected and successful, they had money and power. Now they’re broke, roaming like ghosts in a foreign land.

These are the stories of 12 young Syrian men who used to be rich businessmen, global professionals and members of prominent families. They sacrificed everything to escape war and reach Sweden, the only country granting them permanent residence.

Far from discovering the paradise they dreamed about, some now lead an invisible life in bleak suburbs and remote villages, isolated and unable to find work. Cut off from their loved ones, they are stuck in a limbo between a comfortable life they cannot forget and a tough, new reality.

Check out the photos and sob stories (are they all true?).

It would be cheaper for the Swedish taxpayer to buy a plane ticket back to Syria for those who ‘found their way to Sweden’ only to discover there is no “paradise.”

As a matter of fact, the US State Department never mentions it, but some refugees to the US find there are no streets paved with gold here either.  The most unhappy ones scrape together the money needed to fly ‘home.’  I’ve recommended that it would be less costly for the US taxpayer to fly them home for free (at our expense) and save us the even greater welfare costs involved with keeping them.

UN says Syrian refugees may destabilize Lebanon, civil war possible

Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 29, 2014

This ‘news’ is all over our alerts today along with ‘news’ of Angelina Jolie visiting Syrian refugees as a special envoy for the UN.  Looks like a stepped-up PR campaign!

Watch for it!—The announcement of how many Syrians the US will take this year should be out soon (or maybe it’s out already?).  Will it be the 2,000 discussed previously or the 12,000-15,000 the contractors want?  Remember also that the Obama Administration has lifted the ‘terrorism bar’ primarily for the Syrians.  ***Update*** Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society calls for 75,000 Syrians, here.

From Iran English Radio:

The United Nations has warned that the influx of Syrian refugees into Lebanon poses a serious threat to the country’s stability and the region.

According to the reports, Ninette Kelley, regional representative for Lebanon for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees on Friday said: “There is not a single country in the world today that is shouldering as much in proportion to its size as Lebanon.”

Kelley said the influx of one million Syrian refugees into neighboring Lebanon has pushed up the country’s population by one-fourth.

This inflicts a major strain on Lebanon’s public infrastructure as people fleeing violence in Syria seek housing, food, and healthcare at a time of economic slowdown in the country.

The UN official described the influx as a threat to the country’s economy and warned that it would also make a spillover of the conflict in Syria into Lebanon more likely.

Kelley made comments on his visit to Washington and a week after Lebanese Foreign Minister GebranBassil said the crisis in Syria is threatening the existence of Lebanon, which has gone through a year-long political crisis.

Meanwhile a Reuters story tells us that the US is the single largest donor of humanitarian aid in the Syrian situation.  But for the ‘human rights’ gang this will not be enough—thousands of the Syrians need to be living in American cities and towns to satisfy them.

The United States has been the largest single donor of assistance related to the conflict in Syria. The U.S. State Department says that U.S. humanitarian assistance across the region related to the conflict amounts to $1.7 billion to date.

If you see the big announcement before we do—please let us know!

Nashville: More immigrant entrepreneurs busted!

Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 29, 2014

David Lubell

Diversity is strength!  Right Mr. Lubell?

Nashville, Tennessee is the premier Bible belt destination city for refugee and immigrant migration thanks to people like David Lubell and his old friends (Avi Poster and Tom Negri) at ‘Welcoming Tennessee.’

Regular readers know that Lubell used his ‘Welcoming Tennessee’ franchise to turn it into ‘Welcoming America’ and now gets a grant (in addition to funding from George Soros) from the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement to travel America and tell about Nashville’s successful immigrants.  And, if you are a new reader, it is Catholic Charities that runs the entire refugee placement program in Tennessee.

You can read more about ‘Welcoming America’ on the technical assistance page of  ORR’s Key Indicators for Refugee Placement FY2014 (page 2).

We have a whole category on Nashville’s plight.  Here is one important post about turning red states blue.  Nashville has the fastest growing population of the foreign born of any city in America.

Mohammed Amer

This is not the first time the Nashville police have had to crack down on Muslim store owners.  I would be surprised to learn if this pair are refugees (asylees maybe), but the point is once your city is “welcoming” they will come.

From News Channel 5  (hat tip: ‘pungentpeppers’):

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police shut down and padlocked a business in Nashville on Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation into synthetic drug sales.

Metro Police said Rum Wholesale at 1305 Dickerson Pike was deemed a public nuisance for repeated distribution of synthetic opiates.

The owner, 40-year-old Mohammed Amer,*** was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of counterfeit controlled substances with intent to sell. He will also be charged with felony tampering.

On March 17, three convenience stores in Nashville were shut down for allegedly selling liquid relaxation shots that contained mitragynine, a chemical specifically banned by Tennessee law because of its opiate characteristics.

Rabea Aldheleai

At that time, the stores, which included Discount Tobacco & Beer on Robinson Road, Madison Discount Tobacco & Beer on N. Gallatin Pike, and Litton’s Corner Market on Gallatin Pike, were declared public nuisances and padlocked by order of the court.

During the investigation, detectives learned that Rum Wholesale was a supplier of the liquid shots. When they went to the business on March 17, they found an employee, 27-year-old Rabea Aldheleai, loading boxes of the illegal liquid shots into a BMW.

If you are wondering how it is that a liquor store is run by Muslims—it is a twofer.  First they make a lot of money with schemes like this one and then there is the secondary benefit of potentially destroying the lives of infidels (encouraged in Islam).

Do you have a ‘Welcoming America’ affiliate in your state?

***That’s funny!  Amer is one of the perps in our February story, but The Tennessean link is now dead—what is up with that?  We know The Tennessean has pimped for more multiculturalism for Nashville, but are they removing stories that make Nashville’s Muslims look bad?
