Is the GOP committing suicide by avoiding winning immigration issue?

Posted by Ann Corcoran on July 6, 2015

Update:  See Daniel Horowitz’s excellent commentary entitled ‘GOP’s Trump Card’ here at Conservative Review.

I say YES!  And, that is why Donald Trump is rising in the polls—he is talking about it.

See this long, but statistics-filled, article by Garth Kant at World Net Daily (hat tip: Cathy).

Great point DH.  Imagine if companies cut ties from people or entities who knowingly support criminal aliens….Now THAT would be impactful…. Paul S. First, the GOP as it was known is dead and gone anyway. Who represents it, Cruz, who jumps in and out of the shadows depending on the temperature. After handing TPP and fast track authority to Obama they vaporized as an entity to be take as anything other than democrat-lite. Trump is swinging for the fences and both established parties are flipping out. The democrats are responding with the usual redirect-the-narrative trash that should be transparent to any child at this point. The GOP candidates are pushing each other out of the the way to pander to their imaginary hispanic constituencies. Trump appears to have gravitas. Carson has disappeared but he, Fiorina and maybe Santorum appear somewhat sincere as well. With the importation of 30+ million new democrats, the old paradigm is gone. Time for a new one. What is most nauseating to me is that I have not seen one comment from the left condemning the murder in SF by one of their little darlings who supposedly are all toiling in the fields 18 hrs a day. Compromise with such people is not possible.

Agreed. Notice how quiet things got after TPP went through? That was the Rubicon. Re illegal immigration it was Ann Coulter who took it up a few notches by trashing the usual, what, 12 million number that the liberals toss around in favor of a much, much larger revision. I driven around the country a lot and the 30+ million number is much more like it. “This is emblematic of the society we live in.
“This is emblematic of the society we live in. The problem is not the criminal aliens, the problem is someone supposedly being insensitive when discussing criminal aliens.”. Absolutely.
