SC writer: Refugee program is fake Christian compassion

Posted by Ann Corcoran on August 26, 2015

Editor:  This is a letter written by a concerned citizen of South Carolina.  It is an open letter to the Spartanburg County Council. The council may have no legal way to stop the US State Department (or so we are told), but if the Council voted to say they were not supportive of the effort to bring in impoverished people from the third world (because Spartanburg has its own poor minority) it would go a long way to persuade the US State Department to go elsewhere.

As of this writing I haven’t seen an update of what happened with meetings in  Spartanburg when the US State Department sent its top dog to a town that has developed a ‘Pocket of Resistance’ to World Relief/UN/US State Department plans to establish an immigrant seed community there.

I did see an excellent commentary at Fits News. Go here for an opinion in advance of the meetings yesterday and Monday.

richard-and-guterres

By remaining silent the Spartanburg County Council will allow these two to determine the future of Spartanburg: Asst. Sec. of State Anne Richard and UNHCR Antonio Guterres, former head of Socialists International.

Below is the letter from Beverly Owensby.  The sentiment she expresses here is one all of you concerned about being labeled “unwelcoming” or unchristian should pay attention to.  It is a view we have expressed here many times over the years—true Christian charity is using one’s own time and money  to help the poor preferably where they live.  Or, if one adopts, or supports an immigrant child or family, one uses one’s own resources and doesn’t dump the responsibility on the taxpayer.

An open letter:

After spending hundreds of hours on fact based research, the current REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT program is nothing more than an AMERICAN INVASION. Many are exploiting the compassion of Christians to trick them into accepting the REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT PROGRAM as the right thing to do to protect Christians from being persecuted. This is so far from the truth. Based on the U.S. State Department website, the majority of REFUGEES are Muslims. Why? The UNITED NATIONS is responsible for selecting who comes to America. GEORGE SOROS is spending billions of dollars to ensure the success of this program. If the United Nations and George Soros cared about Christians, they would have done something to prevent ISIS from killing so many Christians in the Middle East and other parts of the world.

CHRISTIAN COMPASSION DOES NOT TAX OTHERS!

CHRISTIAN COMPASSION IS A PERSONAL COMMITMENT TO A CAUSE! THIS IS NOT THE SAME THING AS THE GOVERNMENT FORCING INDIVIDUALS TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THEY BELIEVE IS WRONG!

The United States is $18 Trillion Dollars in Debt and cannot afford to pay for REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT! The United States is on the verge of an economic collapse that will destroy America. The REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT program is designed to push America over the edge. The influx of ILLEGALS coming across our Southern Border and entering the U.S. along with the REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT program are by design to overload the system.

Christians who want to help the REAL PERSECUTED CHRISTIAN can contact a Mission Board and let them know they are willing to house and provide total financial support for an individual or family. THIS IS TRUE CHRISTIAN COMPASSION…. NOT FAKE CHRISTIAN COMPASSION! ….

IF YOU TRULY CARE ABOUT SPARTANBURG COUNTY, YOU WILL VOTE NO TO THE REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT PROGRAM!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU DO FOR SPARTANBURG COUNTY!

LET FREEDOM RING,

Beverly Owensby

What would Jesus do?  I suspect he would throw the money changers (federal contractors, including the US Catholic Bishops!) out of the temple.

For new readers, go here for a background (with some updates) on what happened in Spartanburg beginning last spring when it was learned it would be targeted for colonization.  For a complete archive on Spartanburg posts, go here.

  4. Hello, Ann Corcoran,

    I have just digested the lengthy expose of the injustices perpetrated upon Spartanburg by our Refugee Resettlement Program. I have written previously about the injustices laid upon the cities that are not previously consulted about their preparedness to assist in the cultural clash of disoriented refugee families. Your report has touched upon them. It should also emphasize the total cultural disconnect that occurs when a family is “seeded” in a strange sort of place.

    I have listed the many steps that must precede the arrival of such families and groups. I have also stated the need for the nine organizations that process the desperate families. They are the arm relied upon by our government to do most of the processing. Some of them are religious organizations, others are secular. There is no reason to attack any of them on fiscal grounds. Our government has no other or better shoulder to lean on than these profoundly dedicated international organizations that are the shepherds who can guide these families through the fog of delirium in order to lead them to the safe haven of civilization. They are not in the business of marketing themselves for gain. The church organizations have, at least in some cases, a worldwide network of concerned personnel, ever trodding the unworn footprints of fleeing families in search of everything we in civilized America and other receiving countries hold dear.

    My closing comment will be to advocate that the refugee families stay near their homelands. They are the cradles of their ancestral roots, and the families would welcome a return there if the landscape could someday revert to the harmony that is now a dream in their hearts. Unless and until such a change of venue occurs, the nations of the Free World must use the most prudent means available to assist their human neighbors. It must not be a venue into which these families are thrust that cannot or does not have the groundwork of human needs laid out in advance. That involves money and foresight, which means intelligent people working together to see that everything is in place, especially the welcome sign and all the requirements that will be needed by the communities to assist the humbled refugees who are so eager to find “…the land of the free and the home of the brave….” somewhere across

      You are a liar. These organizations are making millions while the taxpayers eat the bill. Yes, indeed, they are the government’s “arm”; because if the government was forced to do this itself, it would be made accountable – and people would be screeching from the rooftops for a halt to this INVASION of mostly muzlims (spelled incorrectly deliberately – to show my contempt for that Satanic death cult) to this country.

      When you find a cure for your cranial-rectal inversion, you might just want to read what their UN-holy book, the quran, and the haddiths have to say about their “marching orders” – straight from Mad Mo, and applicable for all time.

      You want a sample? You REALLY should know. These quotes are from the quran:

      2:191-193: “And slay them wherever you come upon them…”

      4:89: “They wish that you should disbelieve as they disbelieve, and then you would be equal; therefore take not to yourselves friends of them, until they emigrate in the way of Allah; then, if they turn their backs, take them, and slay them wherever you find them; take not to yourselves any one of them as friend or helper.”

      5:33: “This is the recompense of those who fight against Allah and His Messenger, and hasten about the earth, to do corruption there: they shall be slaughtered, or crucified, or their hands and feet shall alternately be struck off…”

      8:12: “When thy Lord was revealing to the angels, I am with you; so confirm the believers. I shall cast into the unbelievers hearts terror; so smite above the necks, and smite every finger of them!”

      8:60: “Make ready for them whatever force and strings of horses you can, to terrify thereby the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others besides them that you know not; Allah knows them. And whatsoever you expend in the way of Allah shall be repaid you in full; you will not be wronged.”

      9:5: “Then, when the sacred months are drawn away, slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them, and confine them, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they repent, and perform the prayer, and pay the alms, then let them go their way; Allah is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.”

      9:29: “Fight those who believe not in Allah and the Last Day and do not forbid what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden — such men as practice not the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book — until they pay the tribute out of hand and have been humbled.”

      9:111: “Allah has bought from the believers their selves and their possessions against the gift of Paradise; they fight in the way of Allah; they kill, and are killed; that is a promise binding upon Allah in the Torah, and the Gospel, and the Koran; and who fulfills his covenant truer than Allah? So rejoice in the bargain you have made with Him; that is the mighty triumph.”

      9:123: “O believers, fight the unbelievers who are near to you; and let them find in you a harshness; and know that Allah is with the godfearing.”

      47:4: “When you meet the unbelievers, smite their necks, then, when you have made wide slaughter among them, tie fast the bonds; then set them free, either by grace or ransom, till the war lays down its loads.”

      From “An Explanatory Memorandum” – Muslim Brotherhood:

      “The Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western
      civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

      *********************************************************************************************

      From the Muslim Brotherhood: “The Project”:

      Rather than focusing on terrorism as the sole method of group action, as is the case with Al-Qaeda, in perfect postmodern fashion the use of terror falls into a multiplicity of options available to progressively infiltrate, confront, and eventually establish Islamic domination over the West. The following tactics and techniques are among the many recommendations made in The Project:

      * Networking and coordinating actions between likeminded Islamist organizations;

      * Avoiding open alliances with known terrorist organizations and individuals to maintain the appearance of “moderation”;

      * Infiltrating and taking over existing Muslim organizations to realign them towards the Muslim Brotherhood’s collective goals;

      *Using deception to mask the intended goals of Islamist actions, as long as it doesn’t conflict with shari’a law;

      * Avoiding social conflicts with Westerners locally, nationally or globally, that might damage the long-term ability to expand the Islamist power base in the West or provoke a lash back against Muslims;

      *Establishing financial networks to fund the work of conversion of the West, including the support of full-time administrators and workers;

      * Conducting surveillance, obtaining data, and establishing collection and data storage capabilities;

      * Putting into place a watchdog system for monitoring Western media to warn Muslims of “international plots fomented against them”;

      * Cultivating an Islamist intellectual community, including the establishment of think-tanks and advocacy groups, and publishing “academic” studies, to legitimize Islamist positions and to chronicle the history of Islamist movements;

      * Developing a comprehensive 100-year plan to advance Islamist ideology throughout the world;

      *Balancing international objectives with local flexibility;

      * Building extensive social networks of schools, hospitals and charitable organizations dedicated to Islamist ideals so that contact with the movement for Muslims in the West is constant;

      * Involving ideologically committed Muslims in democratically-elected institutions on all levels in the West, including government, NGOs, private organizations and labor unions;

      * Instrumentally using existing Western institutions until they can be converted and put into service of Islam;

      * Drafting Islamic constitutions, laws and policies for eventual implementation;

      * Avoiding conflict within the Islamist movements on all levels, including the development of processes for conflict resolution;

      * Instituting alliances with Western “progressive” organizations that share similar goals;

      * Creating autonomous “security forces” to protect Muslims in the West;

      * Inflaming violence and keeping Muslims living in the West “in a jihad frame of mind”;

      * Supporting jihad movements across the Muslim world through preaching, propaganda, personnel, funding, and technical and operational support;

      * Making the Palestinian cause a global wedge issue for Muslims;

      * Adopting the total liberation of Palestine from Israel and the creation of an Islamic state as a keystone in the plan for global Islamic domination;

      * Instigating a constant campaign to incite hatred by Muslims against Jews and rejecting any discussions of conciliation or coexistence with them;

      * Actively creating jihad terror cells within Palestine;

      * Linking the terrorist activities in Palestine with the global terror movement;

      * Collecting sufficient funds to indefinitely perpetuate and support jihad around the world;

      In reading The Project, it should be kept in mind that it was drafted in 1982 when current tensions and terrorist activities in the Middle East were still very nascent. In many respects, The Project is extremely prescient for outlining the bulk of Islamist action, whether by “moderate” Islamist organizations or outright terror groups, over the past two decades.

    The meme that County Council has no legal way to stop the RRP is only partially true. State participation is voluntary. Participation of the volags…voluntary agency…is voluntary. The federal government has no Constitutional authority to mandate participation. If they did, there would be a federal agency and uniform rules to administer the program across all fifty States. Wyoming is a non-participating State. There would be no Wilson-Fish States. Each State participating has given consent.

    Art. 1, Sec. 3, paragraph 4 of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress the authority to “establish a uniform Rule of naturalization.” The Constitution does not grant the federal government the authority to mandate where immigrants must go or that States must take certain immigrants, regardless of their condition or classification. There is no specific Constitutional mandate to even accept refugees or immigrants into the country. The Constitution allows discretion, according to what’s best for the country. If we do, Congress defines the Rules of Naturalization, who can enter and who can become a citizen. There are specific divisions of authority mandated within the Constitution that protects State sovereignty.

    The State, not the County Council, gives statewide consent. Consent and its meaning is governed by the State. In S. C., the Proviso does not abolish State participation, but it does give each county the opportunity to determine whether it can or will participate in the program. Without county consent, State funds already allotted in the budget and legislated as available, will not be available to the program within that county. S. C., like most States, have counties that are poorer than others. Can they afford this program? Of course not. County resources would be drained quickly, regardless of State funding. The Proviso is there to protect counties from being obligated without their consent, regardless of their reasons for determining they do not wish to participate. It protects the citizens’ right to determine their participation and whether they consider the program an appropriate use of taxpayer money.

    States can withdraw their consent at any time, which is a very good idea for all States. S. C. needs to withdraw from the program. Anything this deceptive is obviously not good. Maybe it’s true it’s not secretive, but they don’t bother to tell anybody much before it’s implemented. That’s kinda splitting hairs.

    SCOTUS has upheld the State’s sovereign powers since the Constitution was ratified. It’s not a novel idea. It’s the Law. It’s also why when the federal government overreaches its Constitutional authority, such as in education, Medicare, Medicaid, the ACA, etc. to receive funding for those programs, the States must formally relinquish its sovereignty in that specific area. They consent to abide by the rules and regulations of the program by acceding their power to the federal government. Without such a contract (consent), the federal government has no authority to force or enforce rules or regulations or programs upon the States that the U.S. Constitution does not grant to the central government, nor may the federal government force State Legislatures to pass laws or force States officials to implement such rules, regulations or programs without State consent. The federal government may not arbitrarily change the terms of the contract to force compliance in areas not covered by the original contract. It’s simple federalism that’s already been breached too many times for federal money.

    The RRP has no such contract between the States and the federal government and it would be a tough sell to claim dominion over that area, but this administration isn’t shy about making stuff up as they go along, just as other administrations haven’t been, which is what got us SCOTUS rulings affirming State sovereignty. At any rate, participation is completely voluntary.

    “State are sovereign and should start acting like it.” ~Chief Justice Roberts in the first ACA ruling.

    Great letter by Mrs. Owensby.

    The you-can’t-do-anything-about-it-so there meme is merely a head fake to confuse people. The State Dept. folks appeared a little shocked yesterday that there’s State sovereignty. Surprise! Since 1776. Modified by consent in 1787 by the Constitution and as each State ratified it. The Bill of Rights added further defined, but not exhaustive, protections in 1791.

    The federal government is a creation of We, the People, not the other way around. “Governments are instituted among men.” The People and our rights preceded the government. We just shared a few with them to administer on our behalf. They have not been good stewards in quite a while.
