Office of Refugee Resettlement not taking care of the alien “children”

Posted by Ann Corcoran on January 31, 2016

Last week a Senate committee held a hearing that raked the Dept. of Health and Human Services over the coals because they did not make sure ‘unaccompanied alien children’ were not placed with human traffickers in the wake of the border invasion of 2014.

Although an assistant secretary at HHS was grilled by the committee, the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) should really be the target of the questioning.

Senator Rob Portman

Senator Rob Portman should be encouraged to take his investigation deeper and look into the grants and contracts awarded by the ORR for care of the “children.”

For new readers we have an extensive archive filed under the key words ‘unaccompanied minors’ (which several years ago was the term being used to describe the “children” entering the country without parents, or where parents abandoned them upon arrival).

Two refugee resettlement contractors have been getting grants for years to take care of the children—US Conference of Catholic Bishops and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service.

I have often speculated that the Bishops had something to do with lighting the fuse for the invasion as a delegation of Bishops led by their lobbyist, Kevin Appleby, traveled to Central America in mid 2013 and returned to “predict” the coming border rush of the summer of 2014.  (A story for another day!)

What is going on here?

Not ever properly explained was the abrupt resignation of the Director of ORR, Eskinder Negash, in December of 2014.  Rumors are that it had a lot to do with something going wrong at ORR with the mostly teenage ‘children.’  Be sure to see this post about the squabbling among contractors getting grants for the children.

US News:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Migrant children in the government’s care fell prey to human trafficking after the Health and Human Services Department failed to protect them, according to a bipartisan congressional investigation released Thursday.

[Remember the Obama Administration’s decision to quickly (and secretively) distribute the children around the country to hundreds of communities, a decision which probably led to the sloppy handling of the cases.—ed]

The six-month inquiry found that the government, overwhelmed by the influx of tens of thousands of children crossing the border to flee violence in Central America, failed to conduct the most basic checks on the adults entrusted with caring for the children.

Many adult sponsors didn’t undergo thorough background checks. Government officials didn’t visit homes and in some cases, had no idea that adult sponsors had several unrelated children, a possible sign of human trafficking.

Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, chairman of the Senate Homeland and Governmental Affairs investigations subcommittee, said the HHS placement program for migrant children suffers from “serious, systemic defects.” The report echoed the findings of an Associated Press investigation.

At a hearing reviewing the program, officials from the department angered Democratic and Republican senators, who dismissed their answers as incomplete or complained that they failed to take full responsibility for the children who were abused or exploited.

There is more here.

Meanwhile in Sweden…..

Europe also got its share of ‘unaccompanied alien children’ (surely the invasion here and there was orchestrated by the hard Left Open Borders gang) and now they have big problems.  In this report from the Daily Mail we learn that many of the teenage ‘children’ from Africa have escaped their asylum homes and are loose and forming gangs in Stockholm.

Merkel is squirming, says refugees are in Germany only temporarily

Posted by Ann Corcoran on January 31, 2016

Invasion of Europe news….

Germany is a disaster and Chancellor Angela Merkel is like a worm on a hook trying to figure out how to release herself.  Now, she is trying to tell the German people that, WHEN things calm down in the Middle East, the Syrians and Iraqis will leave. Even if that were true (it isn’t!), it isn’t true of the hundreds of thousands from all over the globe who have invaded Germany at Merkel’s invitation.

Merkel pensive

Merkel: I promise they will leave once there is peace in Syria and ISIS is defeated in Iraq. (When pigs fly!)

Note to Americans: Our refugee program is permanent.  I think there is still some misconception that asylum seekers and refugees are only here for a little while until things change back home.  That isn’t so, when we accept refugees and asylees they WILL become US citizens and never leave.

When you hear someone say we need to share the burden of Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey which are getting the brunt of the refugee flow, remember most of those ‘refugees’ are living in camps in those countries and will be forced to return home when the conflict ends.

If Merkel believes what she is saying, the migrants arriving in Germany should have been placed in camps and sorted out from there not planted in every town in Germany.

Back to the latest news from Deutsche Welle:

Chancellor Angela Merkel has said she expects most Syrian and Iraqi refugees to return home once the conflict in their home countries has ended. She urged other European countries to offer more help.

Speaking at a regional party meeting, Chancellor Angela Merkel sought to moderate the criticism which has grown over her open-door policy towards refugees from conflict areas in Syria and Iraq.

“We need … to say to people that this is a temporary residential status and we expect that, once there is peace in Syria again, once IS has been defeated in Iraq, that you go back to your home country with the knowledge that you have gained,” she told members of her Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on Saturday.

[….]

The leader of Merkel’s coalition partners, the Christian Social Union (CSU), Horst Seehofer, has threatened to take the government to court if the flow of asylum seekers is not reduced.

Get ready for the spring tidal wave of migrants! (My recommendation, turn back boats and build camps to contain them!):

Merkel urged other European countries to offer more help by taking in refugees: “because the numbers need to be reduced even further and must not start to rise again, especially in spring.”

Head of the European Union’s border agency Frontex, Fabrice Leggeri said that the UN estimated up to a million migrants may try to enter Europe across the eastern Mediterranean and Western Balkans over the next year.

As we have previously reported a trickle of so-called refugees supposedly fearing persecution have begun to leave Germany as their welfare goodies aren’t fast enough in coming.  So, make sure their welfare is meager, housing is difficult and jobs not available and they might go home.

Every one from every country should be watching what happens in Germany and Europe generally as the invasion continues unabated because you are watching a major shift in the history of the world and possibly witnessing the end of the European font of western civilization.  See our complete ‘Invasion of Europe’ archive here.

Be sure to see this post about the European Nationalist parties who do offer some hope for the continent.

Montana update: Rally Monday as citizens protest refugee resettlement plans

Posted by Ann Corcoran on January 30, 2016

Update Feb. 3:  See the latest news on how it all turned out by clicking here.

Residents are not taking plans to bring Syrian refugees to ‘Big Sky Country’ lying down….

bigsky2

Middle Eastern and African refugees chosen by the United Nations could soon be on the way to Montana.

This is an update (with lots more detail than we provided) to our post of earlier this week.

From Leo Hohmann at World Net Daily, entitled:

‘Plan to infuse small towns with Muslim migrants meets resistance.’

Another big battle is brewing over Syrian “refugees” sweeping into small-town America.

Rural folks in Montana are pushing back against plans by urban elites to plant hundreds of Muslims from the Third World into Helena and Missoula. They plan a protest rally at 10 a.m. Monday in front of the county courthouse in Missoula. And if the pattern holds of similar rallies in Twin Falls, Idaho, and Fargo, North Dakota, a contingent of pro-refugee people will show up to counter protest.

Of all the 50 states, there are only two that have not received their “share” of the nearly 1 million Muslim refugees that have been infused into more than 180 U.S. cities and towns over the past 35 years, compliments of the U.S. State Department and the United Nations.

Those states are Wyoming and Montana.

[….]

As WND has reported, Obama’s plan to import Syrian and other Muslim refugees has met spirited resistance in South Carolina, Idaho, Minnesota, North Dakota and Michigan. Residents in many areas of these states have let it be known they are not on board with the progressive vision of a multicultural America. They argue, with mounting evidence, that such policies in Europe have led to rampant crime, mass rapes and terrorism.

And the multicultural vision is no longer limited to gateway cities like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles or Miami.

Small cities like Boise, Idaho; Fargo, North Dakota; Wichita, Kansas – and now Helena and Missoula, Montana – are vying for a bigger slice of the refugee pie.

Here in “Big Sky Country” local politicians in Missoula, working with pro-immigrant NGOs, are inviting the federal government to begin sending Syrians, comparing them to the Hmong refugees who fled Vietnam’s communists in the late 1970s. They have not been deterred by the fact that 98 percent of Syrian refugees are Sunni Muslims, the vast majority of whom FBI Director James Comey admits are impossible to vet for ties to terrorism.

Despite Comey’s warnings, the Missoula Board of County Commissioners sent a letter on Jan. 13 to the U.S. State Department requesting Syrian refuges. “We look forward to seeing approximately 100 refugees per year resettled in Missoula,” the letter states.

European Nationalist parties convene in Milan: mass migration greatest threat to Europe

More Invasion of Europe news….

The Associated Press reported yesterday on a meeting in Italy of Europe’s so-called “Far Right” parties.

Here is what AP reports (emphasis is mine):

MILAN (AP) — Sharing the stage with leaders of other European populist parties, French far-right leader Marine Le Pen said Friday that Europe’s nationalist parties are ready to step in and clean up when European structures fail under current immigration and monetary policies.

Le Pen spoke at the end of the first meeting of the Europe of Nations and Freedom group within the European Parliament, which was formed last summer. The 36-member parliamentary group is the smallest in the European Parliament, but includes some parties gaining strength in the polls in their home countries.

At a news conference, Le Pen along with populist leaders from host Italy, the Netherlands and Austria expressed their common view that Europe’s borders must be closed to mass migration from the Middle East and Africa and said that sovereignty over such policies must be restored to nations. They cited both the threat of terrorism and the strain on budgets.

[….]

Also attending the Milan event Thursday and Friday were leaders of nationalist parties from the United Kingdom, Belgium, Poland, Romania, and the Czech Republic.

Le Pen said the parties represented on the stage in Milan “are part of the future”….

Blankley book

Tony Blankley was prescient….

Tony Blankley, God rest his soul, predicted this in his 2005 book, ‘The West’s Last Chance.’  He said the day would come when famous nude statues across Europe would be covered so as not to insult Islam.

She (Le Pen) also said a decision by Italian officials to cover ancient statues depicting nude figures in deference to the visiting Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was “ridiculous.”

Swedes pushed to the brink, attack migrants in Stockholm

Posted by Ann Corcoran on January 30, 2016

Invasion of Europe news….

Sweden masked men

You know it had to come to this—a violent response to the bloody violence perpetrated by an asylum seeker earlier in the week.

On Tuesday we reported the murder of a young humanitarian aide worker in a home for “unaccompanied children” in Sweden. She was stabbed to death and now we hear the ‘child’ who killed her was a Somali migrant.

In any country where there still might be a flicker of desire to save ones country and culture from invasion, this news is the inevitable result.

From The Local:

A gang of up to a hundred black-clad masked men marched in central Stockholm on Friday evening, singling out and beating up immigrants, and handing out leaflets threatening further violent attacks against unaccompanied refugee youth.

The march, the most extreme reaction seen so far to the murder on Monday of social worker Alexandra Mezher worker by a Somali refugee, has been linked to football gangs and far-right groups.

According to Aftonbladet newspaper, the men were distributing leaflets with the slogan “It’s enough now!” which threatened to give “the North African street children who are roaming around” the “punishment they deserve.”

“They were scattering leaflets which had the intention to incite people to carry out crimes,” Stockholm police confirmed its website. The march, the most extreme reaction seen so far to the murder on Monday of social worker Alexandra Mezher worker by a Somali refugee, has been linked to football gangs and far-right groups.

More here.

Our Invasion of Europe archive is here.  We have an extensive archive on Sweden as well.  It is the country I have predicted would fall first to the Islamic invasion, but maybe there is still some will to live among the Swedish population.  Maybe they won’t go down without a fight.

Hint to Swedes!  Ikea is one of your significant threats!

We noted (here) that Ikea is one of several global companies working with Chobani Yogurt promoting more migrant labor to be distributed around the world.

Big business and Welcoming America working together to change your towns

Posted by Ann Corcoran on January 29, 2016

Be sure to see my post just now at American Resistance 2016!

Rupert Murdoch

Rupert Murdoch calls the shots at Fox News and the Wall Street Journal. BFF David Lubell of Welcoming America.

We learned that Rupert Murdoch’s Partnership for a New American Economy is working in collaboration with Welcoming America (Obama’s pals) at that Open Borders Leftwing community organizing group we have been writing about ever since 2013 when we first heard about them in Lancaster, PA, here.

It is really quite stunning to me to learn that the Open Borders activists (LOL! the “humanitarians”) are working in concert with Chambers of Commerce and large global corporations to assure that the business community has a ready supply of cheap (slave!) labor!

No wonder they hate Donald Trump so much.

German psychoanalyst: Mama Merkel is nuts!

Posted by Ann Corcoran on January 28, 2016

Invasion of Europe news….

Breitbart London is reporting the news:

Mutter Angela

Verrückt!

One of Germany’s most celebrated psychoanalysts has said the refusal of Chancellor Angela Merkel to reverse her “completely irrational” migrant policy is evidence of a potential “mental breakdown” that endangers society.

Hans-Joachim Maaz, a German psychiatrist, psychoanalyst and best-selling author, was speaking with Huffington Post Germany when he suggested a “stubborn” Angela Merkel has “lost touch with reality”.

According to Mr. Maaz, the German Chancellor suffers from “narcissism” brought on by people lauding her position as ‘mother of the nation’ and most powerful woman in the world, and calling for her to have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

He says the “artificially inflated self-image” she labours under leads to the “stubborn attitude” on display by her during the ongoing migrant crisis.

There is much more, click here.

Could it be a combination of a mental defect and wishing to please her paymasters (the global corporations, like those at Davos last week, who are greedy for cheap migrant labor).

Invasion of Europe archive is here.  More on Germany and Mama Merkel, here.

Be sure to see Jihad Watch this morning:  Instructions to refugees—no raping and no urinating in public.  If we got to this point in America there would be rioting by Americans.

More on Missoula County’s naive invitation to the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program

Posted by Ann Corcoran on January 28, 2016

We told you about Missoula County Commissioners’ invitation to the federal government and its contractor, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) here just the week before last.

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration Affairs Anne Richard arrives for a press conference at a hotel in Putrajaya, Malaysia Monday, June 1, 2015. Richard said resettlement in a third country is not the answer to the swelling tide of boat people in Southeast Asia and called for Myanmar citizenship to be given to Rohingya Muslims fleeing persecution there. (AP Photo/Joshua Paul)

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration Anne Richard is a former Vice President of the International Rescue Committee. The Washington contractor revolving door is on full display. http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/biog/188212.htm

My suggestion for citizens of Montana, who have concerns about the United Nations picking refugees to be seeded in the state, is to call for a public hearing on the matter.  If the county commission is bent on going down this slippery slope they should bring together all of those who will be involved in a public hearing format and require them to tell Montana citizens exactly how the program works.

The funniest part of the letter is that these naive local elected officials think they will have any say about the number to be resettled.  That decision will be made in Washington between the IRC and the US State Department—just ask mayors of Manchester, NH, Springfield, MA, and Amarillo, TX if they have any say in the numbers!

Additionally taxpayers should be demanding a plan from the IRC/US State Dept and the Office of Refugee Resettlement at HHS.

Demand a plan!

In 2014, the mayor of Athens, Georgia demanded that these same agencies (IRC in Georgia) present a plan to the city of Athens before refugees would be resettled. They refused to give her a plan. Last I heard the stalemate was continuing.

And, you must now read this!  The IRC head honcho in Georgia tells the mayor to take a hike—US State Department will be making the decisions, not you!

Have a look at the letter the Missoula County Commissioners have sent to Anne Richard, click here.

Somehow their ignorance about what they are getting into is so much more striking when you actually see the letter they sent.

Go here for more on Montana, one of two states that has not received refugees in recent years.

Some posts at ‘American Resistance 2016’ that might be of interest

Posted by Ann Corcoran on January 27, 2016

marching-men 2Both yesterday and this morning, I’ve been focusing attention on my other blog. Here are some posts there that relate directly to Refugee Resettlement:

You must pay attention to David Lubell!  Learn more about him here.

One of my greatest frustrations over the years has been the silence by the media of the immigration status of obvious immigrant criminals, see here.

Then there are two posts on Donald Trump.  In the first one we learn more about why Fox News leans toward the open borders/amnesty agenda, here.

And, don’t miss the news that Trump has hired a key aide to Senator Jeff Sessions.

Refugee contractor (IRC) criticized in Huffington Post story as Syrian refugee pleads for more $$$

Posted by Ann Corcoran on January 26, 2016

This lengthy story in the Huffington Post is a must-read for everyone seriously looking into how the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program works in your community.  But, just please ignore the fact that it is a blatant pitch for refugees to receive MORE OF YOUR TAX DOLLARS!

The article begins (Ho hum! according to Journalism 101) with a sob story about a recently arrived Syrian refugee family resettled in California.  The star-of-the-story’s time in jail in Syria sounds improbable to me, but only he will ever know if it’s a truthful account.

Miliband and Hillary eating

David Miliband, bff Hillary, is the CEO of the IRC which takes in approximately $350 million in government grants and contracts annually. Surely they don’t need to take $875 from every man, woman and child they resettle. Doesn’t sound charitable to me! But, gotta keep the bigwigs in 6-digit salaries!

However, this is the part of the story that interested me. With the headline, ‘Refugees Discuss Most Difficult Part Of Living In America,’ I fully expected the news to be that they found you (racist Islamophobes) their most difficult part of living here, but no, it is the refugee program’s bureaucratic mess they find challenging.

The Kanjous were one of the lucky families that made it through the screening process and were accepted as American refugees in September 2015. They, like many others, endured a long and arduous journey to get to U.S. soil. But they now face a new challenge: navigating a complex network of government and nonprofit organizations responsible for overseeing the refugee resettlement process.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement, the process of refugee resettlement varies by state. Some depend on state-administered resettlement resources, while others utilize public-private partnerships or the Wilson-Fish program, an alternative to traditional state-administered refugee resettlement programs for providing cash and medical assistance and social services to refugees. For these refugees, the process of navigating these programs can often be the greatest challenge they face in their resettlement process.

Since arriving in the United States, with the help of local nonprofit organizations, Kanjou and his family have moved out of temporary housing into an apartment. Kanjou has secured a job as a construction worker, along with healthcare and benefits. His daughters are enrolled in the local school. But according to the family, the refugee resettlement process in the U.S. has not provided the help and support they hoped for.

Kanjou implies he is being gouged by the contractor (the IRC in this case).

“Unfortunately these agencies are treating us are pretty badly because they penalize us for any minor thing,” Kanjou says. “Any paperwork they don’t have or any tiny mistake and they will deduct from our financial benefits. That really interrupts the development of our rebuilding process.”

[….]

Once the refugees land in America, the government turns over responsibility to resettlement organizations like the International Refugee Committee (IRC). These agencies are U.S. government contractors who are tasked with helping the refugees navigate the first three months of their new lives. [The reporter has the IRC’s name wrong, it is the International Rescue Committee.—ed]

The article gives us several examples of how the IRC screwed up. And, then discusses how the family relied on the local Islamic Center for help with a bit of whining from the center leader about how the refugees should be getting more money and more welfare from the government (from you!) for a longer period of time rather than the community helping them with private charity.

Then this:

Each family member receives a one-time cash gift of $1,100 upon arrival in the U.S. After three months of working with the IRC, the refugees are expected to have used their stipends to arrange for temporary housing.

I found this very informative.  In fact each refugee family member is allotted $1,975 (and it may be higher now).  I wonder do they know that the IRC is skimming at least $875 per family member from their government money to take care of the family which is now saying that the IRC is doing a lousy job.  Did the IRC not tell the reporter about the portion they get to pocket?

In spite of his unhappiness with how much help he is getting from the US government, Kanjou is happy to be here because his young daughter has a serious medical issue that you (American taxpayers) will be paying for in the near future!

Although, remember this story, oopsy! Syrian refugee who was supposed to have cancer, and came here for treatment, is found miraculously free of cancer!

For more on David Miliband, click here.  We have an extensive archive on the former British Foreign Secretary who is out pushing for 100,000 Syrians to be admitted to the US in the next year (each will be a paying client of one of the supposed refugee charities).
