Senator Lindsey Graham: Cut off UN funding!

Posted by Ann Corcoran on December 26, 2016

Go Lindsey! Go! Cut them off!

Longtime readers know that the good Senator from South Carolina has not been a favorite here at RRW mostly because he has been an advocate for more Syrian refugees being admitted to the US.

Maybe the despicable hit by the outgoing Obama Administration (including by UN Ambassador Samantha Power***) against Israel in the UN on the eve of the Jewish holiday (and Christmas!) is a blessing in disguise, and will be looked upon as a major turning point in our involvement with the world body (what a joke it is!).

We should all use this opportunity to pound the incoming Trump team to cut our ties with the increasingly pro-Islam United Nations.

Outgoing Secretary General Ban Ki-moon admitted in his farewell speech tens days ago that the UN had become disproportionately anti-Israel and it would hurt efforts going forward to forge peace.

I predict that the bias will be getting worse under the leadership of Antonio Guterres.

Remember that the UN is responsible for choosing the vast majority of our refugees! That is why the Syrians entering the US are virtually all Muslims! This is a perfect time to cut them off!

(If we are going to admit refugees to the US, there is no reason we can’t pick our own!)

From CNN yesterday:

(CNN)Sen. Lindsey Graham will propose a measure to pull US funding for the United Nations unless the UN Security Council repeals the resolution it passed condemning Israeli settlements.

“It’s that important to me,” he told CNN. “This is a road we haven’t gone down before. If you can’t show the American people that international organizations can be more responsible, there is going to be a break. And I am going to lead that break.”

He later told CNN’s Dana Bash that US funding accounts for 22% of the UN’s budget.

Trump has tapped South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley to replace Samantha Power. Maybe Graham can lead the charge to cut funding and Haley can preside over the effort to disentangle the US from the world body!  Wouldn’t that be fun to watch!  And, it would surely rehabilitate their images for me!

***If you want to know more about pro-Palestinian Samantha Power (may she disappear from the world stage), just search her name here at RRW. We have followed her career since she was named ‘Iraqi refugee czar’ by Obama when he first entered the White House.  She and Hillary were all for the overthrow of Col. Qaddafi which has directly led to the massive invasion of Europe from No. Africa.

  3. Kerry Prepares Next Stab In The Back For Israel

In the wake of the US abstention on the UN Security Council vote to render all territory outside of the 1967 lines, including the Jewish Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is rallying support in Congress in anticipation of the Obama administration’s final indignity against the Jewish State.

“Netanyahu’s fear is that Secretary of State John Kerry will set out principles or parameters for a Palestinian state in a speech that he has said he will deliver in the next few days on his Middle East vision,” reports The Times of Israel. “The prime minister fears that, in its final days, the Obama administration will seek to have a resolution enshrining those parameters adopted by the UN Security Council, the report said.”

If Netanyahu’s fears are materialized, peace, let alone a two-state solution, may be all but impossible.

A resolution cementing the parameters of a Palestinian state would tie Israel’s hands, imposing a restricting precondition on any and all serious future negotiations brokered by international partners, including the United States.

Under the guise of opposing so-called “settlements,” the Obama administration has already designated Israel as a de facto pariah state.

Casting more aspersions against Jewish sovereignty would likely embolden Palestinian extremists, including Islamic terrorist group Hamas, who call for the complete elimination of the State of Israel.

“They are spitting at us,” Netanyahu said to his close colleagues, according to Channel 2 news. “We will respond forcefully.”

Since the controversial UNSC vote against Israeli settlements on Friday, Netanyahu has reached out to members of President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team in an effort to solidify allies in the next US administration.

Trump has already conveyed his deep suspicions about the UN’s motives, suggesting that he may seriously scale back US involvement in the international body.

Amen! Maybe Congress and Trump can get this done. Then they need to move because they won’t be able to to afford NY rent.

Many have been calling for cutting off funds to the UN because of this Israel move. I’ve been for that all these years the UN has been flooding Middle America with Muslim ‘refugees.’ If only America were as important as Israel to these people.

  6. My comment is still awaiting “moderation” since 9:44 am? I suppose if you don’t support the jews in everything they do, you are somehow suspect? Approve my comment or remove me from your site!

Hmmm…, this coming from Lindsey Graham could mean a turnaround from more of the republican party…could even mean the end of the islamic-run UN.
After all, folks, they tried a world body after WWI too, and that didn’t work either. It’s time we realize and accept that the islamic-run UN is not working either and send that worthless organization to a sharia-run moslem country, where it will quickly fall to disrepair.
    Let’s hope.

  8. As for NIKKI HALEY, MAYBE she grow into the job.

We already know she is A HUGE SUCK UP to the President Elect, and eating her crow….CAN SHE BE AS BAD AS SAMANTHA POWERS ????

Can ANYONE be as HORRIBLE, as Powers is and was ?

As the old axiom says THE FISH STINKS FROM THE HEAD…..

Samantha Power Watched Half a Million Arabs Die — Then Slammed Israel

Power holds her unique position for speaking truth to the world’s powers, but once in power herself, she held her tongue while people are being murdered every day in the Middle East and North Africa. Shiites and Sunnis kill each other on a daily basis throughout the Middle East while thousands die in Sudan, Nigeria, Libya and Yemen. Under Samantha’s watchful eye, hundreds of thousands of Syrians have died and become refugees.

Let’s not forget the carnage in Syria is largely a result of Obama’s disastrous foreign policy. When he precipitously pulled American troops out of Iraq, he created a vacuum that has been filled by Iran, ISIS, al-Qaeda and other radical Islamic groups. Rather than work to bring down the brutal Assad regime and support Syrians who reject his totalitarian rule and the proposed Sharia law of the Muslim extremists, Power stood by while Iran and its Hezbollah terrorist puppets rushed in to bolster the tottering Assad regime.

Given that Syria is Iran’s only ally in the region, removing Assad would have had the twin benefits of eliminating one of the region’s last dictators and leaving Iran without a friend in the region. Acting early on would have saved tens of thousands of lives. It also would have prevented the devastating immigration problem that threatens to bring down Jordan’s pro-American regime and seed Europe, and perhaps the United States, with radical Islamists trained by ISIS and al-Qaeda to infiltrate Western societies for the purpose of committing terror and mayhem.

By failing to act swiftly and surely, Obama also opened the door to Russian intervention. After keeping Russia contained in the region for more than 40 years, Obama’s inaction woke the sleeping bear and Vladimir Putin’s forces are now bombing civilian areas and doing everything possible to maintain their own foothold in the region. Putin has also extended his tentacles into nations that had been staunch U.S. allies before Obama turned on them.

Obama’s most devastating decision was his failure to follow up his 2012 threat to take action against Syria if Assad used chemical weapons. Instead, he patted himself on the back for a brilliant diplomatic coup (as he did with his disastrous nuclear deal with Iran) in reaching a deal with Russia to remove and destroy Syria’s chemical weapons stockpile. Just as Iran has cheated on the nuclear deal while Obama and Power have buried their heads in the sand, Syria also ignored the toothless warnings of the president and kept enough weapons to continue to slaughter civilians and rebels alike.

  10. Good Ole Linseed is a FAKE PHONY FRAUD…now IF he only came out of his closet, he would be a happier and less a peripatetic SELLOUT GANG OF 8 RINO and he would get some Credibility and Respect .

    Lindsey Graham: Wrong on Everything
The senator from the great state of South Carolina is considering a run for president, based on his foreign-policy prowess. Yikes.

Excellent. Another idea that’s being floated is for Trump to buy the UN building in Manhattan which is extremely valuable real estate. Then they can move the UN HQ to Siberia or some equally welcoming location.
