Refugee Resettlement Watch

Trump Watch! begins today

Posted by Ann Corcoran on January 21, 2017

Yesterday was a fantastically inspirational day. I hope you all enjoyed it.

I’ve been a Trump supporter from the earliest days of his campaign, but I also know something about how Washington works and so I see my job, in addition to continuing to report what is happening in your states and around the world on refugees, as a nag to attempt to keep the Trump Administration honest and moving toward slowing immigration and thus assuring greater security for us all.

Trump Watch! starts today!

In Gettysburg in October, here, Donald Trump outlined a plan for his first 100 days which included making progress on building the wall and securing our borders.

Many of those illegal aliens (Africans!) coming across the border now are fake refugees who will be attempting to claim asylum, so the border is of concern to us in addition to the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program.

This is what Donald Trump promised would be happening immediately:

Additionally, on the first day, I will take the following five actions to restore security and the constitutional rule of law….

* FIFTH, suspend immigration from terror-prone regions where vetting cannot safely occur. All vetting of people coming into our country will be considered extreme vetting.

We assume “on the first day” means Monday, January 23rd!

Our Trump Watch! will report daily on how many refugees are coming in through the Refugee Admissions Program (RAP) in addition to other news about immigration in general.  (BTW, we admit thousands of immigrants through myriad LEGAL programs from “terror-prone” regions.  I don’t want to leave you with the notion that it is only ‘refugees’ coming from Islamic hotspots.)

See our benchmark post yesterday.

So while we were enjoying the festivities in DC, the US State Department admitted 168 more refugees just yesterday.

We will be watching in particular refugee numbers from Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, and Syria.  There are many others coming from other regions as well that must be stopped. I’m thinking of the Rohingya from Burma and Bangladesh, Ethiopians, Eritreans and some other ethnic groups as well, but it will be those 4 we report on regularly.

Yesterday, Afghans topped the list of the four we will watch: 55 Afghans arrived in your towns, 45 Iraqis, 30 Syrians and no Somalis on Inauguration day.

See my 100 days countdown clock in the right hand sidebar!

Donald Trump was elected primarily because of the issue of  jobs and immigration, we sure hope he (with Congress attempting to railroad him!) does not get bogged down on Obamacare.

Obamacare can be fixed over the course of the year, but uncontrolled immigration, in addition to threatening our security and way of life, is robbing Americans of jobs and changing the demographic makeup of America daily!

It would be nice if the agencies that are receiving our tax dollars to relocate these so called refugees were listed. I think there should be a list of those these agencies the names of those they are relocating so we will know which support groups may be allowing possible radicals as asylum. I also believe if an individual turns out to a terrorist that supporting agency should be listed and charged as an accessory to crimes committed.

I would like to see Congress approve criminal liability for any non-profit organization that places refugees who then go on to commit crimes or terrorist acts. Of course you would have to give it a time limit—maybe where the refugee commits a criminal act in the first 6 months after arrival. Whoever placed that creep in Aberdeen, SD would surely be liable.

Ann. A suggestion to send back refugees to their homeland.

How about a Refugee Repatriation Act? The government would pay each refugee wishing to return to their home country $20,000 and provide free air fare in exchange for their US papers and/or citizenship and would NOT be eligible to return to the USA. With the United Nations handling the relocation of refugees and since the USA pays over 3 Billion of the UN’s regular and peacekeeping budget, the $20,000 dollar RRA amount would be deducted from dues the US pays to the United Nations.

St Cloud, MN and surrounding area, where I live, has a refugee problem and assimilation in our area is not taking place.

Ann, you have been out front on this refugee problem so give this suggestion some consideration.

Keep up the good work, Ann. (The $20,000 is just a suggested amount.)

I too watched the Inauguration with great hope and enjoyment. But like you, I am a political realist and know the truth of the old saying that “the road to hell is paved with good intentions.”

I’m glad that you will continue to be vigilant and I sincerely hope (as I keep saying over and over) is that somehow you end up with a place in the Trump administration. I know of no other blogger who has done all the research that you’ve done and who has the depth of knowledge and insight that you have shown. You are also a great communicator and very well organized.

Meanwhile we will all have to remain vigilant as all times as that is the price of Liberty.

Let’s hope we see some kind of exec order regarding immigration first thing on Monday the latest. Nothing else matters in my opinion. What good will it do to reform O-care if we are overrun with third world savages who want to destroy us?
