Stunning news: Trump State Department opens the flood gates, refugee admissions will explode in coming weeks

Posted by Ann Corcoran on May 27, 2017

Betraying the voters who elected Donald Trump, the Department of State slipped the news to the contractors on Thursday who then slipped the news to the New York Times just as you were packing up for the beach or getting ready for a family barbecue using the federal government’s favorite holiday weekend trick to bury the news.

Tillerson and Trump cave….

Forget everything I said in my post yesterday about Trump’s “average” admissions. If they do as they are now saying they will, Donald Trump will be responsible for one of six highest resettlement years since 9/11.***

Manchester here we come!

Here is the headline (Hat tip: Julia). Emphasis mine:

U.S. Quietly Lifts Limit on Number of Refugees Allowed In

WASHINGTON — Despite repeated efforts by President Trump to curtail refugee resettlements, the State Department this week quietly lifted the department’s restriction on the number of refugees allowed to enter the United States.

The result could be a near doubling of refugees entering the country, from about 830 people a week in the first three weeks of this month to well over 1,500 people per week by next month, according to refugee advocates. Tens of thousands of refugees are waiting to come to the United States.

The State Department’s decision was conveyed in an email on Thursday to the private agencies in countries around the world that help refugees manage the nearly two-year application process needed to enter the United States.

In her email, Jennifer L. Smith, a department official, wrote that the refugee groups could begin bringing people to the United States “unconstrained by the weekly quotas that were in place.”

[….]

Refugee groups now predict that entries into the United States could increase so rapidly that the total number of refugees admitted by Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year, could exceed 70,000.

[….]

Refugee advocates were delighted by the State Department’s decision.

“This is long overdue, but we’re very happy,” said Mark Hetfield, president and chief executive of HIAS, an immigrant aid society.

Continue reading here as the contractors say they are worried for next year.  Oh, sure they are.

Bottomline is that it appears that the REPUBLICAN Congress (never forget they want to keep big business donors happy by providing a steady supply of cheap labor) appropriated gobs of money for refugee resettlement!

And, the Trump Administration (remember Trump campaigned with talk of a moratorium on refugee resettlement) appears to have no fight left in them on this issue (other issues too!).

***Here are the refugee admissions since 9/11 (those in red exceed Trump’s projected 70,000). Bush had only 2 years in excess of 70,000 and Obama had 3 of his 8 years higher than 70,000.

2001: 87,259 (this year’s number would have been proposed by Clinton in the fall of 2000)

2002: 45,896

2003: 39,554

2004: 79,158

2005: 69,006

2006: 41,223

2007: 48,282

2008: 60,191

2009: 74,654

2010: 73,311

2011: 56,424

2012: 58,238

2013: 69,926

2014: 69,987

2015: 69,993

2016: 84,994

  2. So it turns out that these levels were mandated in the FY2017 budget continuing resolutions passed in 2016 under the Obama Administration.

By GARDINER HARRISMAY 26, 2017 WASHINGTON — Despite repeated efforts by President Trump to curtail refugee resettlements, the State Department this week quietly lifted the department’s restriction on the number of refugees allowed to enter the United States.

“The president’s proposed budget cuts for 2018 would mean we would have a much smaller program next year no matter what happens with his executive orders,” said Erol Kekic, executive director of the immigration and refugee program at Church World Service.

Still, even Republicans in Congress have said that few of Mr. Trump’s proposed budget cuts to foreign aid and the State Department’s budget would be adopted into law.

Refugee groups now predict that entries into the United States could increase so rapidly that the total number of refugees admitted by Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year, could exceed 70,000

The President could ask Congress for a rescission of those funds. And, The State Department works for him!

  3. Could someone provide a list of agencies, names, email addresses, phone numbers that we can use to voice our opposition to the Refugee program in general as well as any increase in Caps. Also to those of you who have huge twitter/FB followings, please share this info along with the article to them. Also Ann, is DJT following your tweets & info about Refugees & Immigration? If not can you send to someone who he does follow? There are 60M people out there who likely agree with us – we need to communicate to them & that isn’t happening. The “Bad Guys” have the MSM helping them.

LOL! I would have no idea if Trump himself sees what I write. However, I met him in his earliest days of his campaign, briefed him about the program and gave him my book. To give him the benefit of the doubt right now, he is likely being rolled by the bureaucrats in the DOS. However, that is his fault because he has not brought in HIS people to run the refugee program, he left the longtime PRO-more refugees staff in place!

I guess I need to write another post about what you all should be doing….

It’s sad that we are forced to sit by and watch this happen in our own country. POWERLESS to stop the flood of illegal aliens–who are our enemies–and will do to us what they did to the Germans, French, and Swedes. Terrible thing that our politicians would rather play games than keep Americans safe.

  6. Well lets look at facts not blogger opinion, in 2016 under Obama 84,994 “refugees” were allowed entry into the United States.

From January 2012 through December 2016 “Refugees” entering this country averaged 70,627 ( 5 years)

From January 2001 through December 2016 “refugees” entering this country averaged 64,255 ( 16 years )

If Trump lets in 79,999 “refugees” in 2017, that’s a reduction of 4,995 from Obama’s last year, so explain to me how those “floodgates” were opened ???

Oh yes and I got all of my stats from her blogpost

    • Oh, a voice of “truth” booms. Are you an immigration attorney, making big taxpayer paid dollars. Let’s see, 70,000 “refugees”, where are they from, hmmmmmmm? Was is the Christian to Muslim ratio? How many visa overstayers, estimated to be at least 40% of visa issued, they come legally and disappear into the countryside.

Obama destroyed the registration process so we don’t know where they are, no way to locate them. Gobs come from Saudi Arabia, the Royal Family has financed more than 1500 mosques here in the last 10 years.

Several million Muslims have “jumped ship” and are enjoying the fruits of our labor as we speak. In one month, in 2012. the Saudi’s issued over 100,000 visas, Tourist, student, etc., they aren’t coming here to mow lawns.

The Somalians added thousands of “fake family members” who couldn’t pass the DNA tests. We let them stay anyway, and then send DHS busses to pick thousands more of them up at the San Diego border. More soldiers for General Ellison’s Army, where they have such a good record of violent, threatening behavior.

Obama has dozens of ,hip-pocket judges lined up to delay any attempt to control our destiny, it’s as if he never left office. Happy Memorial Day, Infidels!!!

It isn’t an anonymous leak, note that an official at the State Dept. is named. Do you really think that all those they quote, like Mark Hetfield, have gone along with a complete fake news story when they had only days ago been bashing Trump for “plummeting” numbers. And, the LA Times has reported the story too as did Breitbar, or didn’t you see my news on that? The most likely scenario is that Trump got rolled while he was away, so the test comes this week. If he is silent on this news then he agrees with it.

net increase in the number of gravy train employees, government and business that are needed to service, the incredible increase in fraud committed by the newcomers themselves, (so much food stamp, convenience store fraud that perps are trained in their home country on how to open a store and start cheating the government). When they are caught and convicted, after several million dollars theft, they are sentenced to 2-3 years in prison, and are fined the amount stolen. But the money is gone, how are they going to pay the fine?

I did NOT vote for Ivanka or the other intruder by marriage, Jared Kushner. It is my belief Trump will cave due to his beloved offspring, to the Paris Climate Agreement. My research ferrets out the underbelly of the introverted liberalism lurking behind OUR President. Ivanka made the choice to marry what/who she once referred to “guys who are dorks”.

A good friend (and a Godsend) sent this to me, knowing what I’m researching. It’s nice to see another blogger, because I’m just beginning (again) and finding it difficult to locate like minded bloggers.

Trump already caved in to them when he ordered the launch of 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles on Syria’s Shayrat Airbase, at the behest of his daughter, Ivanka. I, too, fear he’ll cave due to his beloved offspring, to the Paris Climate Agreement.
However, in this case, he didn’t cave in, but did just the opposite. He pulled the US out of that disastrous agreement, to the shock of the Europeans. In fact, both President Emmanuel Macron of France and Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany felt betrayed by Trump’s announcement and said Europe was now on its own, since the US could no longer be reliable.

  15. And the Federal judiciary has what is now called “TrumpLaw”

    http://www.nationalreview.com/article/447995/fourth-circuit-travel-ban-ruling-distorts-law-trump

“Here is the essence of the court’s ruling: Trump’s campaign statements were so grotesque that they not only (1) hurt the feelings of a Muslim resident so much that he was granted standing to challenge an executive order that did not apply to him, but also (2) rendered an otherwise lawful executive order so damaging that the harm to the plaintiff’s feelings (and his wife’s possibly delayed entry into the United States) outweigh the government’s asserted national-security interest in pausing to reexamine foreign entry from hostile and war-torn countries. Since Trumplaw is such a novel form of jurisprudence, it’s exceedingly hard to square with existing precedent. So, when existing precedent either doesn’t apply or cuts against the overriding demand to stop Trump, then it’s up to the court to yank that law out of context, misinterpret it, and then functionally rewrite it to reach the “right” result.

    Read more at: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/447995/fourth-circuit-travel-ban-ruling-distorts-law-trump

So while State may not be performing to Trump standards, are they following the 4th District ruling? IIRC, da judge is a BHO appointee…

A few days ago, Trump was in Saudi Arabia making an emphatic and poignant speech regarding ridding the world of ISIS and Islamic terrorism; supposedly, this speech was the most inflammatory ever made by a president, or, top public official, on the topic of the colliding values, between the West and Mideast.

Trump doesn’t seem to be backing down on the international front, just on the national. He might have a hand in averting the spread of Islamic terrorism; but, meanwhile his American constituency, unfortunately, are paying the price for his lack of attention to the refugee invasion.

The more I think about it the more I realize that so much work has to be done to repair all the damage that’s been done to the US, thanks to former POTUSs, that it might be virtually impossible for one president to do it all. Maybe the job literally requires two Chief Executives.

To add insult to injury, they pulled their usual trick of dropping the bombshell on the Friday of a long holiday weekend. How sickeningly ironic it is too that we find out on Memorial Day- when we are supposed to remember the wars we have fought and won, the blood that’s been shed for our great country. How can it be that these sacrifices are to be flushed down the toilet by a bunch of millionaires and billionaires who apparently have some other agenda.

I have tried to defend Trump up till now but this is indefensible. I have one issue that is non-negotiable and that is that this refugee invasion must be stopped. That is the one thing I feel we cannot compromise on- not after all the information and knowledge we have received on this topic from Ann and a few other brave writers and Patriots. The economic issues will sort themselves out eventually in our capitalist system.

But if the USA turns into another third world hell hole, then all is lost. I just don’t understand how Trump could do this to us. I admit that I have always been cynical when it comes to politicians, but I did believe that Trump would at least do this one thing and stop the immigration and radical Islamic terrorism. Sure he was brave enough to say the words over and over but actions sure do speak louder than words. What a disgrace this is and a slap in the face to all of us who have stood by Trump through thick and thin.

It seemed to quick a turn-around on this website’s part, to so quickly agree w/the NYTimes and what the MSM is pushing out about all of this. #MAGA

After that sick occultic ceremony for the opening of the Global Center for Combating Extremism and now this – increasing the number of “refugees” that are really military aged males, maybe it is time to consider the impeachment of Donald Trump.

@Eyeswideoopen – NO – that is not the answer. Don’t you guys see this is part of the strategy to derail this presidency…? Come on man, they WANT US to turn our backs on him, they WANT US to abandon him.
Look, you are all falling for a NEW YORK TIMES article …really? Have you forgotten what they have been doing to discredit this man from the get-go? Really – did you all of a sudden think the NYTimes are being truthful in their reporting…? Don’t abandon this President in his time of need to support him – he came into this entire political mess for us, in defense of us – don’t betray him now.

You have one other comment I am not posting. You must be new here because we don’t post ad hominem attacks on other readers.

@Ann Corcoran: That’s fine, you have that right as website owner. I apologize if I came across as combative or handing-out “ad hominem attacks” whatever that could have referred to, I have no idea, since I don’t recall ANY personal attacks on anyone’s character, except to attack the poster’s argument head-on. This a crucial moment in this Presidency. If we turn away from him now, and don’t remain vigilant against the Leftist/Feminist-Cult’s constant onslaught, we’re toast …the nation is toast. Yes of course we should keep the President accountable, I am not saying he gets a free-pass no matter what, that’s foolish – what I am saying is that we should stop and take a breath – we should STILL remember he’s in this FOR America, not against America. To all of a sudden do sneaky, dastardly underhanded things to purposefully hurt America is not the man we elected …when did we begin to believe he became this awful man? Now is not the time to get all wishy-washy and run-scared, now is the time to stand-up right next to him and push back. Always remember the opposition is using every single thing at their disposal (especially the media), to guarantee this Presidency is degraded …by any means necessary.

As a strong Trump supporter, I totally understand your frustration. I am not running away from our President and I know full well that the despicable liberal, Sharia supporting media is doing everything they can to take him down and foment another Civil War in our country.

This is why I think it’s important for us to let Trump know when there is something amiss like with this refugee issue. He is surrounded by all sorts of people, some of whom may have a very different agenda when it comes to immigration.

His supporters have to let him know directly how we feel and that we do expect him to keep his word. We don’t know who in his inner circle reads Ann’s blog, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the higher ups do at least look at it once in awhile. At least I hope so.
