Stunning news: Trump State Department opens the flood gates, refugee admissions will explode in coming weeks

Betraying the voters who elected Donald Trump, the Department of State slipped the news to the contractors on Thursday who then slipped the news to the New York Times just as you were packing up for the beach or getting ready for a family barbecue using the federal government’s favorite holiday weekend trick to bury the news.

Tillerson and Trump cave….

Forget everything I said in my post yesterday about Trump’s “average” admissions. If they do as they are now saying they will, Donald Trump will be responsible for one of six highest resettlement years since 9/11.***

Manchester here we come!

Here is the headline (Hat tip: Julia). Emphasis mine:

U.S. Quietly Lifts Limit on Number of Refugees Allowed In

WASHINGTON — Despite repeated efforts by President Trump to curtail refugee resettlements, the State Department this week quietly lifted the department’s restriction on the number of refugees allowed to enter the United States.

The result could be a near doubling of refugees entering the country, from about 830 people a week in the first three weeks of this month to well over 1,500 people per week by next month, according to refugee advocates. Tens of thousands of refugees are waiting to come to the United States.

The State Department’s decision was conveyed in an email on Thursday to the private agencies in countries around the world that help refugees manage the nearly two-year application process needed to enter the United States.

In her email, Jennifer L. Smith, a department official, wrote that the refugee groups could begin bringing people to the United States “unconstrained by the weekly quotas that were in place.”

Refugee groups now predict that entries into the United States could increase so rapidly that the total number of refugees admitted by Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year, could exceed 70,000.

Happy Happy Happy Hetfield.

Refugee advocates were delighted by the State Department’s decision.

“This is long overdue, but we’re very happy,” said Mark Hetfield, president and chief executive of HIAS, an immigrant aid society.

Continue reading here as the contractors say they are worried for next year.  Oh, sure they are.

Bottomline is that it appears that the REPUBLICAN Congress (never forget they want to keep big business donors happy by providing a steady supply of cheap labor) appropriated gobs of money for refugee resettlement!

And, the Trump Administration (remember Trump campaigned with talk of a moratorium on refugee resettlement) appears to have no fight left in them on this issue (other issues too!).

***Here are the refugee admissions since 9/11 (those in red exceed Trump’s projected 70,000). Bush had only 2 years in excess of 70,000 and Obama had 3 of his 8 years higher than 70,000.

2001: 87,259 (this year’s number would have been proposed by Clinton in the fall of 2000)

2002: 45,896

2003: 39,554

2004: 79,158

2005: 69,006

2006: 41,223

2007: 48,282

2008: 60,191

2009: 74,654

2010: 73,311

2011: 56,424

2012: 58,238

2013: 69,926

2014: 69,987

2015: 69,993

2016: 84,994

    1. Not sure what you mean. You have posted this one! Sometimes it takes awhile for me to get to them.

  1. So it turns out that these levels were mandated in the FY2017 budget continuing resolutions passed in 2016 under the Obama Administration.

By GARDINER HARRISMAY 26, 2017 WASHINGTON — Despite repeated efforts by President Trump to curtail refugee resettlements, the State Department this week quietly lifted the department’s restriction on the number of refugees allowed to enter the United States.

“The president’s proposed budget cuts for 2018 would mean we would have a much smaller program next year no matter what happens with his executive orders,” said Erol Kekic, executive director of the immigration and refugee program at Church World Service.

Still, even Republicans in Congress have said that few of Mr. Trump’s proposed budget cuts to foreign aid and the State Department’s budget would be adopted into law.

Refugee groups now predict that entries into the United States could increase so rapidly that the total number of refugees admitted by Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year, could exceed 70,000

    1. The President could ask Congress for a rescission of those funds. And, The State Department works for him!

  2. Could someone provide a list of agencies, names, email addresses, phone numbers that we can use to voice our opposition to the Refugee program in general as well as any increase in Caps. Also to those of you who have huge twitter/FB followings, please share this info along with the article to them. Also Ann, is DJT following your tweets & info about Refugees & Immigration? If not can you send to someone who he does follow? There are 60M people out there who likely agree with us – we need to communicate to them & that isn’t happening. The “Bad Guys” have the MSM helping them.

    1. LOL! I would have no idea if Trump himself sees what I write. However, I met him in his earliest days of his campaign, briefed him about the program and gave him my book. To give him the benefit of the doubt right now, he is likely being rolled by the bureaucrats in the DOS. However, that is his fault because he has not brought in HIS people to run the refugee program, he left the longtime PRO-more refugees staff in place!

I guess I need to write another post about what you all should be doing….

      1. Ann,
what was the ballpark total budget amount that Congress
        ‘re-approved’ recently?

I want to start another twitter with “Stop the Funding’ Theme urging people to tweet/write their Congressman re this artcle/issue.

as always, thanks for your hard work

–yes, the ole’ sneak out artcle when ev1 leaving for holiday wknd –

Its the VERY REASON I Intentionally PAY ATTN TO FRIDAY NEWS –afternoons, b/c that’s when Gov agencies –and Corporations– release News they don’t really want attention drawn to.

        1. Are you talking about just the refugee funding or the whole Continuing Resolution for the Gov???

  3. It’s sad that we are forced to sit by and watch this happen in our own country. POWERLESS to stop the flood of illegal aliens–who are our enemies–and will do to us what they did to the Germans, French, and Swedes. Terrible thing that our politicians would rather play games than keep Americans safe.

  4. Well lets look at facts not blogger opinion, in 2016 under Obama 84,994 “refugees” were allowed entry into the United States.

From January 2012 through December 2016 “Refugees” entering this country averaged 70,627 ( 5 years)

From January 2001 through December 2016 “refugees” entering this country averaged 64,255 ( 16 years )

If Trump lets in 79,999 “refugees” in 2017, that’s a reduction of 4,995 from Obama’s last year, so explain to me how those “floodgates” were opened ???

Oh yes and I got all of my stats from her blogpost

    1. Oh, a voice of “truth” booms. Are you an immigration attorney, making big taxpayer paid dollars. Let’s see, 70,000 “refugees”, where are they from, hmmmmmmm? Was is the Christian to Muslim ratio? How many visa overstayers, estimated to be at least 40% of visa issued, they come legally and disappear into the countryside.

Obama destroyed the registration process so we don’t know where they are, no way to locate them. Gobs come from Saudi Arabia, the Royal Family has financed more than 1500 mosques here in the last 10 years.

Several million Muslims have “jumped ship” and are enjoying the fruits of our labor as we speak. In one month, in 2012. the Saudi’s issued over 100,000 visas, Tourist, student, etc., they aren’t coming here to mow lawns.

The Somalians added thousands of “fake family members” who couldn’t pass the DNA tests. We let them stay anyway, and then send DHS busses to pick thousands more of them up at the San Diego border. More soldiers for General Ellison’s Army, where they have such a good record of violent, threatening behavior.

Obama has dozens of ,hip-pocket judges lined up to delay any attempt to control our destiny, it’s as if he never left office. Happy Memorial Day, Infidels!!!

    2. Any Refugee count above “Zero” is too many. Stop the entire inflow – avoid the pushback of discrimination. Treat all Refugees equally not matter where they are from – Say NO to all of them equally.

    1. It isn’t an anonymous leak, note that an official at the State Dept. is named. Do you really think that all those they quote, like Mark Hetfield, have gone along with a complete fake news story when they had only days ago been bashing Trump for “plummeting” numbers. And, the LA Times has reported the story too as did Breitbar, or didn’t you see my news on that? The most likely scenario is that Trump got rolled while he was away, so the test comes this week. If he is silent on this news then he agrees with it.

        1. Her name is in the story: Jennifer L. Smith If she has come out since last Thursday and said she did not send the e-mail alerting NGOs that they were going to increase the flow from 900 a week to 1500 a week, PLEASE let me know. I will then correct the story. Otherwise, I am waiting for Trump to disavow the news. SILENCE ON HIS PART THIS WEEK MEANS HE AGREES WITH WHAT THE DOS IS DOING!

          1. You can find her at linked in. I don’t have an account there but she has a profile where she is listed as employed at the US Department of State, Office Refugees Population and Migration.

      1. A 14,000 plus reduction in “ALL” refugee intake in 2017, Trump promised to stop refugees from the 7 Arab countries that could not properly vett. He has the courts blocking him he has the press attacking him and bandwagoners turning on him. But you “are” entitled to your opinion

        1. Look at the net new expense, net new turmoil, net from countries that hate America, net reduction in servicing the needy American citizens,
net increase in the number of gravy train employees, government and business that are needed to service, the incredible increase in fraud committed by the newcomers themselves, (so much food stamp, convenience store fraud that perps are trained in their home country on how to open a store and start cheating the government). When they are caught and convicted, after several million dollars theft, they are sentenced to 2-3 years in prison, and are fined the amount stolen. But the money is gone, how are they going to pay the fine?

Ann Corcoran is a “blogger” and her 7-8 years of tireless investigations that reveal the huge ripoff of our resources, 7-8 trillion debt increase under closet Muslim Obama, and more promised, (it looks like) under Trump and Company.

  5. They always seem to come up with a ton of Americans’ money for things that do not help Americans. But, alas, this, you should know, isn’t being done for any reason that is being given. It’s not being done because they love them but because they hate you.

  6. 1. 9/11*** isn’t a year

    2. Leaked by anonomous source in the State Department to unnamed contractors then leaked to the New York Times

3 For all your admirization of Ann Corcoran, she is just another blogger

    1. William, she spells better than you, for sure. I can’t follow your logic, and your comments seem to be those of an uneducated man. The leaks are from Obama overstayers, the contractors, (nine of them) are well known to folks who know about immigration, but not those who just babble on about nothing but can’t connect the dots.

“Just another blogger” is an ignorant man’s description of a terrific woman who has spent thousands of hours, on her own nickel, telling us the truth about immigration, and the resulting enormous debt that is engulfing our economy. Ann Corcoran is a role model for all, and a hero to those who care about this country.

What do you do? Do you work? Do you have your GED?

  7. But it’s “OUR” fault for criticizing Trump for not sticking with this issue…. is that insanity or what? We MUST hold his feet to the fire. Unless Kissinger was right when he said he met with Trump in 2015 and Trump didn’t mean any of the foreign policy things he said, and other things like this. Kissinger may be a war criminal but he doesn’t lie.

  8. Good information. My blog systematically investigates the tangled web of liberalism and establishment that is “the pipeline”, if you will – whispering in OUR President’s ear. I voted for Trump. I did NOT vote for Ivanka or the other intruder by marriage, Jared Kushner. It is my belief Trump will cave due to his beloved offspring, to the Paris Climate Agreement. My research ferrets out the underbelly of the introverted liberalism lurking behind OUR President. Ivanka made the choice to marry what/who she once referred to “guys who are dorks”.

A good friend (and a Godsend) sent this to me, knowing what I’m researching. It’s nice to see another blogger, because I’m just beginning (again) and finding it difficult to locate like minded bloggers.

    2. I feel the same way .. I, too, voted for Trump, not for his daughter Ivanka, nor his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Trump already caved in to them when he ordered the launch of 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles on Syria’s Shayrat Airbase, at the behest of his daughter, Ivanka. I, too, fear he’ll cave due to his beloved offspring, to the Paris Climate Agreement.
However, in this case, he didn’t cave in, but did just the opposite. He pulled the US out of that disastrous agreement, to the shock of the Europeans. In fact, both President Emmanuel Macron of France and Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany felt betrayed by Trump’s announcement and said Europe was now on its own, since the US could no longer be reliable.

    1. Did you read the NYT article…it is going from 900 to 1500 unless Trump speaks up this week. We will be listening and if he deserves praise he will get it, if he doesn’t we will report that too. It is my (our!) job to keep his feet to the fire on his refugee campaign promises. And, besides, think about it. If we don’t scream when HIS State Dept. does this, then he will think we don’t care!

  9. As President, Trump can stop this immediately, always could. He is not doing so, he owns this and what follows

      1. Of course President Trump can over rule the courts! He’s the Commander in Chief and the Patriot Act gives him this power. He can declare a nation emergency and stop the inflow immediately, this very hour. He’s choosing not to… indeed, the flow will increase so it seems…. why? I have no idea.

  10. And the Federal judiciary has what is now called “TrumpLaw”

“Here is the essence of the court’s ruling: Trump’s campaign statements were so grotesque that they not only (1) hurt the feelings of a Muslim resident so much that he was granted standing to challenge an executive order that did not apply to him, but also (2) rendered an otherwise lawful executive order so damaging that the harm to the plaintiff’s feelings (and his wife’s possibly delayed entry into the United States) outweigh the government’s asserted national-security interest in pausing to reexamine foreign entry from hostile and war-torn countries. Since Trumplaw is such a novel form of jurisprudence, it’s exceedingly hard to square with existing precedent. So, when existing precedent either doesn’t apply or cuts against the overriding demand to stop Trump, then it’s up to the court to yank that law out of context, misinterpret it, and then functionally rewrite it to reach the “right” result.

So while State may not be performing to Trump standards, are they following the 4th District ruling? IIRC, da judge is a BHO appointee…

  11. We can’t protect our country from terrorists as long as the liberal judges are allowed to run the country. Twice Trump tried to stop their entry and twice the liberal judges rung their little snowflake hands and said his order violated their constitutional rights. I thought the Constitution was written to protect me and mine, not terrorists and people to afraid to defend their own country. But they will vote Democratic when they can so come on in!!!!!!!!

  14. A few days ago, Trump was in Saudi Arabia making an emphatic and poignant speech regarding ridding the world of ISIS and Islamic terrorism; supposedly, this speech was the most inflammatory ever made by a president, or, top public official, on the topic of the colliding values, between the West and Mideast.

Trump doesn’t seem to be backing down on the international front, just on the national. He might have a hand in averting the spread of Islamic terrorism; but, meanwhile his American constituency, unfortunately, are paying the price for his lack of attention to the refugee invasion.

The more I think about it the more I realize that so much work has to be done to repair all the damage that’s been done to the US, thanks to former POTUSs, that it might be virtually impossible for one president to do it all. Maybe the job literally requires two Chief Executives.

  15. People seem to be dead set to make the same mistake that Meckel finally admitted that she made. Christians need to be let in only. They will say who Jesus is being God visually who was one with the unseen Father in him who raissed him up from the dead. Christians will know the laws that Jesus taught. Muslims will try to impress people saying Jesus was a great prophet. Muslims will glory in their Quran quoting from it. They will say that Allah is God. Muslims will be complainers. Muslims expect Jesus to talk like Satan saying he was God with a proud look. Jesus is humble.

  16. I take anything written in Carlos Slim’s Blog (formerly, the New York Times) with a grain of salt. But if this is true, it will lead to the Zimbabwefication of our country and eventual civil war. Never before has an entire civilization committed suicide in real time than Western Civilization now.

  17. Anything about what sort of refugees they will be? Christians? Muslims? From which countries? Obama was able to tailor it to take just about only Muslims (with a few token Christians thrown in.) Can we take only Christians?

    1. I’ll check what the percentages are tomorrow, but remember all the refugees cost taxpayers a bundle not matter their religion.

  18. Yes, STUNNING news. Trump needs to stop this NOW or he will lose massive support. Peeps in IOWA should make sure to give Trump a message next week when he does a rally.

    1. @Heymister24 – Which is EXACTLY the reason for the wording of this article. This is part of the strategy since the “muh Russia” is beginning to blow-up in the faces of the Leftist/Feminist-Cult – now they plan to convince all of his supporters to turn against him.
Let’s keep the faith in the man we elected – why on earth would he decide to do this – we all know he would not approve of these actions, and has been TRYING to do the exact opposite. There is something far, far deeper going on here, and we know the NYTimes is FAKE-News …I’m surprised this website is backing their article.

      1. What the hell are you talking about. Do you really think this story is all made up. The reality is that Trump probably got rolled by the bureaucrats in the State Department while he was away. His test will come this week when the s*** hits the fan about this at the White House. Silence on Trump’s part will signal acquiescence. If he comes out swinging we will report that! When he screws up we will report that too!

        Liked by 1 person

        1. I DO think the story is made-up, to the extent of that I DO think the NYTimes is NOT reporting the refugee infestation accurately. This is something which was in-place LONG before he took the OOOffice – and was not his administration which decided, in backroom deals, under the cloak of darkness, to fool the American people …which is EXACTLY what the NYTimes is saying in this article.
My posts are simply stating we should NOT trust the NYTimes, we should NOT trust this BS narrative that President Trump is trying to “fool” us all. Don’t you see what’s going on here…? Since the “muh Russia” narrative is about to fail, the best thing they can push now is whatever would allude to this President betraying his supporters, AND that we should turn away from him NOW. That’s all. I’m sorry if I cam across as attacking other posters, but I sensed this was taking-hold, and their plan working. Call my posts WARNING beacons in the night if you will.

  19. To say that I am disappointed would be the understatement of the year. I am literally heartbroken at this betrayal. To add insult to injury, they pulled their usual trick of dropping the bombshell on the Friday of a long holiday weekend. How sickeningly ironic it is too that we find out on Memorial Day- when we are supposed to remember the wars we have fought and won, the blood that’s been shed for our great country. How can it be that these sacrifices are to be flushed down the toilet by a bunch of millionaires and billionaires who apparently have some other agenda.

I have tried to defend Trump up till now but this is indefensible. I have one issue that is non-negotiable and that is that this refugee invasion must be stopped. That is the one thing I feel we cannot compromise on- not after all the information and knowledge we have received on this topic from Ann and a few other brave writers and Patriots. The economic issues will sort themselves out eventually in our capitalist system.

But if the USA turns into another third world hell hole, then all is lost. I just don’t understand how Trump could do this to us. I admit that I have always been cynical when it comes to politicians, but I did believe that Trump would at least do this one thing and stop the immigration and radical Islamic terrorism. Sure he was brave enough to say the words over and over but actions sure do speak louder than words. What a disgrace this is and a slap in the face to all of us who have stood by Trump through thick and thin.

    1. @Seneca The Elder – Don’t fall for this BS. This is part of the plan, to convince his supporters to turn against him. Let’s not forget everything that’s been going on to derail this President. Now is not the time to turn and run away from the man we elected.

      1. No one is running away yet! But, even if we like him and know he is better than Hillary we must demand he stick with at least some of his campaign promises—for me this one is the most important! Once we are out-populated we lose everything. Healthcare can wait, taxes can wait, so can trade, what can’t wait is IMMIGRATION.

      2. Hellinahandbasket- I am not running away from Trump. I also posted another article I found from last February that indicates this may be coming from the entrenched Obama Deep Staters who are still running the refugee programs. Believe me, Trump is still our only hope and I am praying that he will turn this around in the coming weeks.

What bothers me is that this refugee mess seems not to be a high priority item for this administration while for many of us, it is the most important issue.

Ann’s information is well researched and documented. It’s hard to argue with the facts. I think that what we are doing is making it clear that we will not be betrayed when it comes to immigration and refugees. it is just too important.

        1. Thank you for your reply. Sorry if I sounded like I was “schooling” you, sometimes posts tend to come across that way, when not the intention. I felt I had to toss-out some warning beacons into the night, since it seems most people are falling for this “turn on Trump NOW” narrative that’s hitting the streets. As you also realize from your comment-reply, the 0bama administration is still embedded within, carrying-out their evil plan regardless of who is seated in the WHouse. I guess I’m just very fearful that a lot of Trump supporters will easily turn-away from him, and not realize they’ve been snookered …by the NYTimes no less! We’ve got to keep the faith. I know there is NO WAY IN HELL, President Trump would purposefully do such a thing, and do it in an underhanded, sneaky way as we’re being led to believe.
I do know Ann’s work is well researched, and have been reading her stuff for quite a while now, but this was just too over the top for me to remain quiet. It seemed to quick a turn-around on this website’s part, to so quickly agree w/the NYTimes and what the MSM is pushing out about all of this. #MAGA

  20. After that sick occultic ceremony for the opening of the Global Center for Combating Extremism and now this – increasing the number of “refugees” that are really military aged males, maybe it is time to consider the impeachment of Donald Trump.

    1. @Eyeswideoopen – NO – that is not the answer. Don’t you guys see this is part of the strategy to derail this presidency…? Come on man, they WANT US to turn our backs on him, they WANT US to abandon him.
Look, you are all falling for a NEW YORK TIMES article …really? Have you forgotten what they have been doing to discredit this man from the get-go? Really – did you all of a sudden think the NYTimes are being truthful in their reporting…? Don’t abandon this President in his time of need to support him – he came into this entire political mess for us, in defense of us – don’t betray him now.

I apologize if I came across as combative or handing-out “ad hominem attacks” whatever that could have referred to, I have no idea, since I don’t recall ANY personal attacks on anyone’s character, except to attack the poster’s argument head-on. This a crucial moment in this Presidency. If we turn away from him now, and don’t remain vigilant against the Leftist/Feminist-Cult’s constant onslaught, we’re toast …the nation is toast. Yes of course we should keep the President accountable, I am not saying he gets a free-pass no matter what, that’s foolish – what I am saying is that we should stop and take a breath – we should STILL remember he’s in this FOR America, not against America. To all of a sudden do sneaky, dastardly underhanded things to purposefully hurt America is not the man we elected …when did we begin to believe he became this awful man? Now is not the time to get all wishy-washy and run-scared, now is the time to stand-up right next to him and push back. Always remember the opposition is using every single thing at their disposal (especially the media), to guarantee this Presidency is degraded …by any means necessary.

          1. Hellinahandbasket-

As a strong Trump supporter, I totally understand your frustration. I am not running away from our President and I know full well that the despicable liberal, Sharia supporting media is doing everything they can to take him down and foment another Civil War in our country.

This is why I think it’s important for us to let Trump know when there is something amiss like with this refugee issue. He is surrounded by all sorts of people, some of whom may have a very different agenda when it comes to immigration.

His supporters have to let him know directly how we feel and that we do expect him to keep his word. We don’t know who in his inner circle reads Ann’s blog, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the higher ups do at least look at it once in awhile. At least I hope so.
