St. Cloud, MN residents concerned with refugee resettlement told it is a federal issue

Posted by Ann Corcoran on August 10, 2017

No it isn’t.  Local governments want to pretend they have no role so as to get the monkeys off their backs!

First, here is the news about citizens appealing to the city council for a study about the costs of resettlement.  The council voted the proposal down by one vote and said this isn’t a local government issue.

Memory lane!  In 2015 we learned that the US State Department had only begun holding so-called “stakeholder meetings” with local government agencies in 2013!

This is what I said:

It has only been in the last year or so that we have been made aware that QUARTERLY CONSULTATIONS with community “stakeholders” were being held quietly, out of public view.   In fact, I wondered why I hadn’t heard about them and now I know why!

Here Lawrence Bartlett, US State Department Refugee Program, told Senator Sessions that of course they consult communities and elected officials about numbers and impacts! https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/2015/10/02/senate-oversight-hearing-on-refugee-program-very-revealing-senator-sessions-did-a-masterful-job/

The citizens of St. Cloud, MN, here and here, brought the issue of exclusion of taxpaying citizens from the meetings where the ‘non-profit’ refugee resettlement agency meets with local elected officials, fire/police, education, health departments etc. to assess how things are going with the refugees, and they discuss how many to bring in the upcoming year.

According to a State Department spokesman (unnamed!) doing a press briefing for reporters on September 11th [sorry, the briefing has been removed!—ed] we learn that they have only been doing these QUARTERLY CONSULTATIONS since 2013!  WTH!

And, they are lying!  “Private citizens” have not been welcome.

These agencies (‘non-profit’ resettlement subcontractors) work very hard to hold these meetings secretly and out of the view of local concerned citizens—the ultimate stakeholder, the taxpayer! Yet, we have a State Department official (why no name?) telling the mainstream media that private citizens can attend!

More here.

Such meetings are required under the Refugee Act of 1980 as succinctly outlined here at Let Freedom Ring blog (hat tip: Katherine).  This is a must-read.  No time to pull quotes from it because I’m going away for a few days and dashing around this morning.

There is a local government role whether the city council of St. Cloud likes it (admits it!) or not!

  1. So the leftest politicians in control of St.Cloud want to bring in more Somali savages. Someone is getting a hefty payout for keeping it quiet. Hey isn’t Minnesotta where that Somali Muslim gunned down that Australian Women and claims he was frightened by a lound sound. Maybe that sound he heard was his gun going off numerous time while he was killing this defenseless women in her pajamas. And where are we with the investigation of this killing? Has anyone here heard a peep from the police force or mayors office? Im betting its already been shoved under a very heavy rug and that Muslim savage is soon back on the force ready to kill more innocent people.

  3. Call the “refugee contractors” what they are HUMAN TRAFFIKERS …… SLAVE TRADERS. They are proffiteering off Human misery with absolutely no concern or consideration of the Citizens who have to live with them. They are not inserting these Invaders into the country with their money or out of charity. They are getting YOUR money for Bringing in Invaders is how these Human Traffikers MAKE MONEY.

By the way …. do you like your car insurance rates? Because these “sanctuary” pushers are also pushing UP your car and homeowners insurance. Someone has to pay for their uninsured driving and home breakins ……… YOU. All their trips to YOUR emergency rooms … YOU pay in higher insurance premiums & medical costs. Start handing the BILLS to the “sanctuary prigs”.
Have you noticed the Sociopathic lack of human empathy, sympathy, or concern for the victims of these invaders. Not only are there no MSM “human interest” stories about the Invader’s Victim’s traumas, their stories are actually DENIED by MSM, Politicians, and the very Priests that are supposed to comfort and care for “Their Flocks”. Scumbag “priests” betraying their own People, there will be a special place in Hell for them. What sort of aberrations and mutant “Shepherds” WANT to pour vipers and wolves into the midst of their flocks?
These monsters “GET OFF” on little girls and boys being gang raped and murdered.

    (1) Charity and “good works” are done with YOUR money and time. Taking MY money and giving it to someone else is THEFT. We bring puppies into our house, poisonous vipers and skunks are banned. Do not make the REFUJIHADIS walk all the way here ,,,, You go to the REFUJIHADIS’ homeland on Your dime after all, they will feel more comfortable at home.

    (2) Remember, Democrats are the people who didn’t care when 70,000 factories closed across America, but then rioted in the streets when we denied entry to foreigners from a few terrorist-laden countries.
    (3) You are all concerned about them but you do not give a FIG about how your own neighbors feel. Who made you god, to just invite anybody & everybody into Our house, without asking the OTHER RESIDENTS if it is okay? Go see a psychiatrist.
    (4) They can get a card as an illegal to ensure they get welfare but it’s racist for people to have to get an ID to vote legally.

  4. This was done in Lewiston, Maine. The refugee things were just brought in and dumped – nobody, including the
mayor, knew they were coming. Outrageous.

Here is some of the correspondence I’ve had with ONE City Councilwoman, (3 voted with us and 4 against). Carol Lewis at least had the respect to respond to my email, most have ignored me for years. And this was after the meeting, and I was one of the speakers requesting transparency.

    Dear City Leaders:

I am asking you again, to do your jobs regarding the refugee process.
The following is the law regarding this process and we ask only that
you follow the law. It has been neglected far too long.

Moreover, the Director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement must develop and implement, again, in consultation with state and local governments and voluntary non-profit agencies, “policies and strategies for the placement and resettlement of refugees….” (Id. § 1522(a)(2)(B)) Federal law goes on to set forth what these “policies and strategies” must consider. In addition to ensuring that refugees are not placed in an area that is already “highly impacted” by refugees, they must take into account:
    the preexisting proportion of refugees and comparable entrants in the area;
    the availability of the area’s employment opportunities, affordable housing, and other educational and health care resources;
the likelihood that refugees will become self-sufficient and free from dependence on public assistance in an area; and
the area’s likelihood of secondary refugee migration. (Id. § 1522(a)(2)(C))
Consistent with these policies and strategies, the federal government shall take into account the recommendations of the state to the maximum extent possible. (Id. § 1522(a)(2)(D))

Please, I would like an answer on whether you plan to follow the federal law.

    Sincerely,

    Margaret Starry

    Ms. Starry-

Please read the law. It says that the “federal government shall take into account the recommendations of the state to the maximum extent possible” (your emphasis). Since when did the CITY (emphasis added) of Saint Cloud become THE STATE OF MINNESOTA?(emphasis added) Once again, you have the wrong jurisdiction.
