US Conference of Catholic Bishops not happy with the President

So what else is new.

The USCCB, as readers know, is one of the nine major federal resettlement contractors*** that is being financially hurt by the slowdown in the refugee flow to Your Town, USA.

But, they never tell the public that piece of important information when they wail about federal refugee policy changes. I recently joked that until one of their news items tells the public the whole truth, I would keep writing about their taxpayer-supplied millions of dollars!

Of course they are not happy with President Trump now because he removed the US from that ‘nothing burger’ UN compact I told you about here.

When that compact was formed in September of 2016, on the margins of the UN General Assembly at an Obama-organized show, organizers were disappointed at a toothless and wishy-washy response by western countries.  That is not to say it wouldn’t have turned in to something after follow-up meetings, but was in truth nothing more than symbolic.

But, you see it gives the Religious Left, like the Bishops, a reason to bash Trump now.

From Crux:

NEW YORK – Following the announcement last Saturday by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson that the United States would no longer participate in the development of a Global Compact on Migration, U.S. Catholic bishops and migration experts denounced the decision and urged the Trump administration to reconsider its position.

Catholic lobbyist O’Keefe. Do taxpayers ‘contribute’ to his salary?

The Compact was an outcome goal of the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants, which the U.S. participated in during a United Nations summit in September 2016.

“We simply cannot in good faith support a process that could undermine the sovereign right of the United States to enforce our immigration laws and secure our borders,” said Tillerson.

In response, the U.S. bishops said the decision is counterproductive to the country’s safety efforts and violates key tenets of Catholic social teaching.

Bishop Joe E. Vásquez, chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Committee on Migration, said that while the Church teaches that every country has a right to secure its own borders, “the Church has long articulated that it is the obligation of nations to assure human rights for all migrants and special protections for vulnerable migrants, such as refugees, forced migrants, victims of human trafficking, and women and children at risk.”

The Bishops and O’Keefe have every right to lobby on everything under the sun (including global warming). They can bash the Prez all they want, but if I were the President I would be cutting off their federal funding! Separation of church and state after all! Let them do their lobbying and their “good works” with private funding!

How many of your tax dollars help pay this Catholic lobbyist’s salary?

In an interview with Crux, Bill O’Keefe, vice president for government relations and advocacy for Catholic Relief Services, said Catholics of all political persuasions should support the effort of the Global Compact.

If you are a Catholic of a different “political persuasion” speak up in your local parish!

And, now for new readers (longtime readers can stop here!) because I am going to post this every time I see them whining and moaning about refugee policy, but never mentioning their pecuniary interest.

From my post last July…

The Bishops Migration Fund was 97% taxpayer-funded according to a 2014 annual report for their Migration Fund and I doubt the percentage has changed much in recent years.

The Bishops don’t file a Form 990 and their operations are so vast, I could spend the whole day and still not sort it out.  Also, maybe you can find one, but I have not found an annual report for their refugee program since I found this one for 2014.

So we will have to rely on it (again). Keep in mind these funds for their refugee resettlement program do not include millions that go directly from the feds to some individual Catholic Charities and Dioceses around the US. (If you are researching your local CC or Dioceses, you can often find good numbers at

US Treasury dollars circled in red. Travel loan collection fees is your money too! Do you see what a tiny bit of money is privately given which says to me that the average practicing Catholic is not supporting their migration program.

***These are the nine federal resettlement contractors paid by you to place refugees in your towns and cities. The USCCB places the largest number so they are really feeling the financial pinch as the President has reduced the flow of paying clients (aka refugees).  These middlemen, get paid by the head for their ‘charitable good works,’ so they have no incentive to ever see a reduction in numbers.

  1. These globalist sobs are awful free with OTHER PEOPLES’ money; not to mention the danger most of these so-called “refugees” pose to the United States, our Constitution, our economy and the American people themselves. The U.S. Conference of Communist Bishops can go pound sand — and I’m being charitable here.

Would you like to see what ELSE has been perpetrated upon the American people without our knowledge? Try this article from back in April:

Feds and UN Dumping “Unvetted, Diseased Refugee Men” on Taxpayer
by Alex Newman Apr. 1, 2017

What is notable in this article — particularly — are the following 2 paragraphs from a whistle-blower named in the article:

Adding insult to injury, said the woman with knowledge of the program, is the fact that state officials and those involved with processing the new arrivals are being encouraged at official meetings to classify as many of the newcomers as possible as being permanently disabled — especially as having chronic headaches and lower back pain. The purpose of this, she was told, was so the “refugees” could qualify for Social Security long-term disability, allowing them to collect taxpayer money for the rest of their lives despite never having contributed to the already-strained system on its way to bankruptcy.

“Much to my shock, they wanted us to try to identify them in such a way that they would qualify for long-term Social Security disability,” she explained, adding that the designation was for life and would cost taxpayers a fortune. “So if they get identified as qualifying for long-term Social Security disability, they are as good as set up for life…. It is insanity.” Indeed, one of the first things workers are supposed to do is sign up the new migrants for Social Security, she said. They also receive cash upon arrival.

Now, if this doesn’t make your blood boil, you must be dead — or perhaps just brain-dead.

  2. Some news about what the House Bill opens up now.

House GOP’s Tax Plan Would Open Up Politics To Churches — And Charities

“We’re really worried that changing the law in this way would open the floodgates for political contributions to be funneled through all 501(c)(3) organizations, fundamentally changing the nature of houses of worship and indeed our entire nonprofit sector,” Tyler said.

The House tax bill unleashes a dangerous avalanche of campaign cash

What the House bill really amounts to is throwing open an entirely new channel for campaign money to politicize churches, charities and foundations.

GOP tax bill would allow churches to endorse political candidates

The House Republican tax bill released Thursday would allow churches to endorse political candidates, rolling back a 1950s-era law that bars such activities.

Dem Rep Warns of Religious Civil War if GOP Passes Tax Plan

“You politicize the pulpit, it’s going to make the Sunni-Shia conflict in the Middle East look like a picnic,” he said. “There’s going to be conflict in the streets overnight.”

If Trump and Pence Are Taken Down by Russia Investigation, Here’s Who the Next President Is

If Donald Trump and Mike Pence are ousted, get ready for President Paul Ryan.

The Roman Catholic Little King Paul Ryan is now 3rd in line to be president, and rest assured, it was the Vatican that put him in this position.

The name Paul Ryan means Little King.

And who is the leader of the House, who got the Tax Bill passed that will open up churches to receiving money to endorse candidates?

Remember Ann, George Soros just gave 18 Billion dollars to his Open Society.

  3. Well they better LEARN to be happy with President Trump because he is the only President how has and is standing for Religious Rights and the rights of the unborn. If they would prefer a Socialist , anti-religious nation, then they should go ahead and support the Left.

  4. I was not happy with Obama, and I am not happy with Trump, for just about endless reasons. These Catholic Bishops should be made to starve, just like many Americans having our jobs, homes, etc…taken away from us. They do not know what it is like to miss a meal, but they expect the rest of us to make the sacrifice they would not make themselves. We should take our babies diapers off of their rear ends and just give them to anyone who wants to come here and demolish us. Same for the depends. They can stay unhappy!!!

  5. Those PEDOpriests are mourning the lack of illiterate BOYS who donot know about Stranger Danger ………………..
The Catholic “church” does not have a moral or ethical leg to stand on …… Jesus Christ would tear that “ediface” down.
