President Trump gives us permission to speak!

With all the hullabaloo since yesterday about the President’s question about why we needed to import so many people from certain s***hole countries, I’m thinking that the great fear the PC crowd (pulling out the smelling salts) has is that when the President speaks straightforwardly (on anything), it gives permission for masses of Americans to do the same.  Speaking freely about critical issues facing our country could be the death of the hard Left and they know it.

Graham and Durbin chuckle
So who leaked the comment to the Washington Post? Some speculate it was someone connected to these two unhappy participants—Senator Dick Durbin and Senate pal Lindsey Graham

I’m expecting that half of America was laughing in the privacy of their homes when they heard the President voice something that they themselves dare not say.

I didn’t look around for what might be the best discussion about what exactly happened, but this one at the American Spectator by Scott McKay seems on point and brings up the Somali issue something we know a good bit about.

Here are a few snips (emphasis is mine):

A quote attributed to President Trump horrifies our snowflake intellectuals, but accurately reflects the sentiments of much of America.

Thursday saw a media firestorm erupt over a Washington Post report that amid a White House meeting with several members of Congress working on a compromise having to do with the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, President Trump asked why America should have to take in so many immigrants from “s***hole countries” rather than people from places like Norway.

The Post article isn’t exactly the finest example of American journalism, identifying as its source no one actually in the room to confirm what Trump supposedly said but instead naming two anonymous people who were “briefed on the meeting.”

Those anonymous second-hand sources claimed that the offending statement came amid a discussion over a proposal to eliminate the diversity visa lottery program and use the 50,000 visas per year tied up in it to offer protection to “vulnerable populations” living in the United States under Temporary Protected Status. Trump became irritated at this, according to the Post, and asked about Haitians, and when the conversation turned to Africa Trump supposedly said, “Why are we having all these people from s***hole countries come here?” and suggested that maybe instead America should be taking in more people from Norway — whose prime minister visited the White House the day before.

The Post reported that the Senators attempting to come to a DACA solution, most prominently Illinois Democrat Dick Durbin (whose track record indicates a lack of reliability where it comes to good faith in negotiations) and South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham (no more need be said) were upset over, upon arriving at the meeting, being joined by immigration hard-liners Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) and Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Virginia), among others. Durbin and Graham thought they’d have the president more or less to themselves. And when the meeting devolved into disagreement, with Trump showing no interest in a DACA deal, it’s pretty obvious someone on one or both of their staffs rushed to the Post to offer up a juicy second-hand Trump quote which might or might not have been reported in proper context.

Author McKay then goes through a list of dysfunctional countries whose nationals are here in large numbers, including from Somalia:

Abukar Ibrahim
The most recent Somali machete attacker in Vermont last week (at a hotel for the homeless). A reader tells me he came as a refugee in 2004. If so, what has he contributed to America in those 13 years?

How about Somalia? Who’s up for more mass immigration from Somalia? Is there any argument Somalia is a s***hole, or do we need a national screening of Black Hawk Down to remind us what that country is like? If you’d like a more recent depiction of what Somalia has to offer the world we could all watch Captain Phillips, the 2013 Tom Hanks vehicle about the true story of the Maersk Alabama, set upon by one of the multitudinous hordes of pirates — yes, actual pirates — sloughing off from Somali shores in search of fat from international commerce.

Somalia is such a s***hole that its stench infects nearby countries like Kenya — viz., the Westgate Shopping Mall attack in Nairobi in 2013 — and Uganda, where Al-Shabaab, Somalia’s home-grown jihadist terror group, set off a series of bombs in the capital of Kampala to slaughter 76 people as they watched the 2010 World Cup soccer final.

What has America derived from mass immigration from Somalia? Machete attacks on street corners in Columbus and mall stabbings in suburban Minneapolis. And if you like, you can ask the current and former residents of Lewiston, Maine, what a boon Somali immigration has been to that town. [See machete attack in Shelburne, VT in the last week.—ed]

The last thing the open-borders Left wants is for you to talk openly about immigration and who should be permitted to live here.

The open-borders crowd doesn’t want to talk about that, though, and it wants to call you racist if you’re opposed to a deluge of immigrants from the worst places on earth. That’s why Trump’s “s***holes” objection is big news rather than the fact there are so-called political leaders who can’t agree to reorient our immigration policy toward taking people who can successfully assimilate here.

Between the two, the crude man who tells the truth and looks out for his own citizens is preferable to the genteel man who sells us out for cheap labor or ballot-box fuel for a political machine. If Trump is the former, so be it.

Much more here.

  1. I would have preferred Trump to be a bit more tactful, but then again I admire him for saying something that should have been said a long time ago. I think that most Americans are fed up with having third world immigrants dumped here without our consent, and we could fill pages listing all the problems these third world invaders have caused. Instead of criticizing Trump, you would think that the MSM would finally acknowledge the fact that a very large and mostly native percent of the population strongly oppose mass immigration, especially when it comes from disease and crime ridden countries like Haiti and El Salvador.Instead, the MSM is running stories about the tiny number of immigrants from these s**tholes that have managed to make something of themselves here, ignoring the fact that this doesn’t even begin to offset the expenses we have incurred as a result of the majority that have become parasites, and that they always do so at the expense of one of our own, who would have otherwise gotten that job, promotion, etc. Though Trump is not the most eloquent of speakers, he did say something that most of us think and would say if we were able to, and you have to give him credit for that.

  2. Spot-on Ann! I’ve been checking out (since yesterday) the Left and the enemedia get their panties in a wad about President Trump telling the unadulterated truth. You are so right.

“Between the two, the crude man who tells the truth and looks out for his own citizens is preferable to the genteel man who sells us out for cheap labor or ballot-box fuel for a political machine. If Trump is the former, so be it.”

I’m certainly with you on that. So are many, MANY Americans as well, I’ll wager.

  3. Regarding the recent visit to DC by the Norwegian prime minister, it would be interesting to know how thorough a briefing the president received. For instance, does Trump know that the prime minister approves the muslim invasion of her Nordic country at the back of native Norwegians?

The estimate is that in less than twenty years Norway is no longer a white, Christian nation. That is if movers and shakers like the prime minister have their way. Sad to say, there is no indication that they won’t.

Trump invites Norwegians to move to USA. Sure, they can come over here and take back Minnesota. Not. The majority can’t even see what’s happening to their own country.

  5. Trump is absolutely right on in what he said. And he’s the only one with the guts to say it.

For those who are SO INTENT on a “DIVERSE” nation, how do you achieve that by making Europeans, Asians, and People from India and Australia WITH EDUCATION AND SKILLS TO OFFER, wait 6-10 years to come to USA while allowing millions and millions of Caribbean Islanders and Central Americans WITH NO EDUCATION AND NO SKILLS, INSTANT ACCESS ?????

What is wrong with the USA and US Citizens demanding high quality immigrant neighbors who will BENEFIT USA and not be a burden only ????? As we speak, most major US cities are suffering financially under the burden of having to house, feed, clothe and educate millions of helpless illegals, while having to short benefits to CITIZENS ! It simply IS NOT FAIR, either to citizens or to LEGAL immigrant applicants who are getting pushed to the back of the line !

    1. I would even question if we need immigration at all, skilled or not. My area is too crowded already, and I csn’t see adding any more people to the population for any reason. If we need skilled workers, we need to train our own people, instead of importing foreigners. Besides, most economists and social scientists predict that because of technology, the next generation can expect a 60% unemployment rate. Time to shut off the floodgates completely to protect our future workers, IMO.

  6. Sadly, when a president of any nation uses such language, it creates problems for the image we present to the world. Debasing others, whether countries, persons or news outlets is an old play out of the Kremlin playbook, not our constitution! It is un-American

Free speech includes speech you may not like!

One of the countries he railed against, Nigeria, actually is providing the US with higher level immigrants: in our area two excellent pharmacists I have known for years.

While there are small numbers of isolated criminals from the Somali community, many if not most are completing High School and going on to college.

HOWEVER, others in this community, return for 6 months of the year or so, to the shithole we supposedly rescued them from! IMO, the instant they leave American airspace for “home”, their passports should be suspended or placed up for review. Perhaps one visit but nothing else–on our tax dollar.

A more malicious trend is money laundering through Halal grocery stores. Halal, which is animal torture needs to be banned and all stores tracked due to this rather obvious fraud on America.

Trump should be censured by congress for his un-American language, pending impeachment (most likely).

    1. Trump is the only hope you have of ever stopping the things you don’t like—once he is driven out there will be NO one with any spine to even think about stopping money laundering fraud, fake refugees taking trips back to the country they supposedly escaped, or torturing animals via Halal slaughter.

    2. It seems to me you are trying to define what an American is, Vajranatha, in your own terms. You also over generalize the traits of a couple of pharmacists you barely know to a whole population of people from a country infamous for it’s criminality and savagery. Don’t you know that Nigeria is one of the most corrupt and crime ridden countries on the planet? same goes for Somalia. And even if they are going on to college, why not let them do that in their own country, at their own expense? I do agree with one thing you wrote, though, that “Free speech includes speech you may not like!”. Even though people may not like what he said, he had a right to say it, and many of us are pleased he did, however crudely he might have said it. I hardly think that this was cause for censure, let alone impeachment.Whose side are you on, anyways?

      1. The reason I mentioned these two is the stats on Nigeria are that we are getting many professionals from Nigeria. “Nigerian immigrants have the highest levels of education in this city and the nation, surpassing whites and Asians, according to Census data bolstered by an analysis of 13 annual Houston-area surveys conducted by Rice University.” -Houston Chronicle

The reason for this is simple: in countries where radical Islam prevails or is ascendant, they will kill professionals, Doctor, Lawyers And teachers/professors. Thus the stats above.

When the US invades a country, like Iraq, for example, the same dynamic comes into play. In that instance it becomes our responsibility to rescue such folks. And thus they land here and elsewhere, quite literally fleeing for their lives.

What is probably needed, is policy that helps them return–or even better–creates safe zone near where they live (eg Africa) and then return as they are able.

I like what the president of China said (paraphrasing) ‘We won’t be taking any refugees, we have to take care of our own people first”. Well said.

Both Right and left (the left needs to get on board) need to start implementing common sense immigration policies like Canada has. We have a shortage or trained scientific professionals in this country. When I went to college, it was all paid for by grants, scholarships and loans.

Stop invading countries nowhere near us (we spend about 51% of our tax dollars on the Military Industrial Complex Eisenhower warned of). Time to bring those dollars home.

        1. I can’t figure out after Trudeau’s airlift of tens of thousands of Syrians in recent years, that anyone can claim Canada has common sense immigration policies. And, Canada is being flooded with refugees, including Somalis. Please explain!

  7. Pig Out
Merriam’s Seaboard Corporation thought it could really bring home the bacon — if it could just find a place to process its hogs.
    by Joe Miller, The Pitch

It’s hard to understand why the left wants more of this. I tho’t they were against animal cruelty? I guess it is OK when done in secrecy, in the middle of the night, and most importantly, not in their backyard.

    1. They called him a racist for asking for a LEGAL birth certificate of a sitting President who advertised that he was born in Kenya, and who had many records indicating that he was born in Kenya, all of which which were SEALED and BURIED from the American public. This is something we had every right to know and should be required and validated BEFORE one ever sets up an exploratory campaign for President and asks for a single dime.

They called him a racist the day he came down the elevator, and every day since. What else is new? They called us the same Deplorable names.

  8. I tried to leave a comment and did not succeed in doing it correctly. I am leaving it here.

Nothing more to talk about—like our laws–The Patriot Act and the NDAA and possibly the latest version of FISA. Not to mention our wars and the millions who we have killed. So the President got irritated and swore. People use such language and worse all the time. Much ado about noting. I think it is rather funny. We have a human president.
