Trump Administration cuts funding for special UN agency for Palestinian ‘refugees’

International refugee industry heads are spinning as the Trump team has withheld funding for UNRWA.  That is the United Nations special agency that we have funded for more than 60 years that supposedly takes care of those who were displaced when the modern state of Israel came into being.

They should have long ago been resettled in other Sunni Arab countries, but their demand for a “right of return” to the land Israel occupies is responsible for the continued unrest in the Middle East.

The New York Times found one-time liberal politician Yossi Beilin to refer to Donald Trump as “ignorant.”

If they want a “right of return” then Christians and Jews can demand a “right of return” to all the places (they once lived) that have been taken over (through violence) across the Middle East and North Africa by marauding Muslim hordes.

As I said in a previous post on the topic—tell me at what time in world history were the lands of the world fairly distributed.

Believe it or not, the New York Times has a fairly balanced article on the subject once you get past the usual sob-story about a hungry ‘refugee.’  (Is this J-school 101: start with a sob-story to emotionally soften up readers?).

Here are a few paragraphs, you can read the rest yourself. Of course they found someone willing to call the President “ignorant.”

The United States, its [UNRWA’s] biggest donor, announced this week that it was withholding $65 million from a scheduled payment of $120 million. The Trump administration said it was pressing for unspecified reforms from the agency, while also seeking to get Arab countries to contribute more. [US taxpayers want to know why any of this is our financial responsibility!—ed]

The Trump administration’s move, which added to a deficit of around $150 million on the agency’s budget of nearly $1.25 billion, brought new attention to a sprawling agency that functions as a quasi-government in some areas of the Middle East and has courted controversy throughout most of its history. And it revived politically loaded questions about just who should qualify as refugees — and what is the proper role of the organization charged with caring for them.

The agency, known by the acronym Unrwa, was set up in 1949 to aid those who fled or were expelled from their homes during the Arab-Israeli war of 1948. Meant to be temporary, it defined refugees loosely and expanded that definition over time. One key difference between it and the office of the United Nations high commissioner for refugees, critics say, is that the agency routinely allows refugee status to be passed down for generations. Another is that it does not remove people from its list who have acquired citizenship in a new country, so the number always increases.

Further down there is an explanation about why Lebanon won’t give citizenship to Palestinians.

Very few have been granted Lebanese citizenship for fear that taking in so many Sunni Muslims would upset the country’s delicate sectarian balance. And many Lebanese have long argued that giving them rights and services would lessen the pressure on them to return to what is now Israel.

That is it in a nutshell! No country (either Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu or Shiite) wants large numbers of Sunni Muslims as citizens!

Sunni Arab countries like Saudi Arabia don’t take them either, why…..

….because by leaving the Palestinian Arabs in perpetual limbo the pressure continues on Israel.

In my view, it is this type of dramatic move by the Trump Administration that could finally force a resolution to the conflict. At least it is worth a try!

  1. The one statement about keeping the pressure on Israel sums up the entire history of this conflict. I do not understand the hatred of Israel and the Jewish people. They are hard working intelligent people that have given much to mankind.

  2. The President needs to do this to more UN agencies, that are/have supported anti-America and Israeli issues! “Getter Done” Mr. President Trump! Getter Done! Cut those FUNDS!

  3. Mr Trump knows how to put pressure on the UN trolls! Good going! Saudi Arabia won’t tske Sunni Arabs as the Saudis are Shiite. ( I hope I got this right and not Mixed Sunni for Shiites but I’m old) —

Saudi Arabia uses Sunni Arabs for grunge work l, janitorial jobs and makes them live in specific housing areas so the Saudi Religious Police keeps an eye on them.
They hate each other. This is why Iraq disintegrated after Saddam. The Sunni and Shiite Muslims hate each other and Sadam was brutal enough to keep them from warring tribal warfare.
So why do we get the joy of importing all of these warring factions as refugees on our tax money?!?
Both groups of these warring people?
If you know a bit about Muhammed and his Islam- this question is very easy to answer.

Saudi wants the “Palestine” Muslim Refugees to continually war agsaint Israel because —- drum roll —- Muhammed ordered his followers on his deathbed to rid the entire Arabian peninsula of all Christians and Jews!
    It’s that easy!!
Yes! They are to fight the Friday worshippers (Jews) and when rid of them start Warriing against in the Sunday worshippers. (Christians). Of course atheists should be killed without a chance to pay the jidza tax which is offered to Jews and Christians to pay in lieu of beheading. Or leaving.
This is Mohammed’s Order! Period. Of course you’ll never hear this the news!

So there is no “moderate” or “radical” Islam because this is what Muhammed said for his follwers to do. Kill us, or we pay and we MUST obey them. Their third world barbaric social rules. There you go.

If you read the Reliance of the Traveller and the Koran the enlightenment of motivations and hated of Muhammed for all he deemed as non-believers is easily apparent. “Obey Allah and the Prophet Of Allah”. Since Muhammed made up this sock puppet Allah- so Muhammed calls the shots.

Muhammed orders – rid the Arabian penisula of all Jews and Christians. Dating back to 637a.d. And documented by Muhammed scribes for the Koran and Reliance of the Traveller. Also refer to “Sahih el Buhkari and Sahih el Muslim” volumns Of stories and proclamations about Muhammed in both English and Arabic.

So President Trump has stopped by cutting our taxpayer funding the UN to give this money to the “Palestine” Arabs (Muslims)

  4. Americans, YOU, are paying to build a 25 foot tall WALL all around Israel ……. but if You ask for a wall to protect your Families from ILLEGALS you are told you are a RACIST BIGOT By GUESS WHO —– Jewish directed LIBERALS, Schumer, Feinstein, Shiff ……………..

Americans are only allowed a few years on welfare . Israel has been a WELFARE QUEEN for over SIXTY YEARS. Americans have to prove they have no “assets” to get welfare. Israel has over SEVENTY BILLION DOLLARS in savings, but STILL collects American CHARITY CHECKS. Americans just got their FOOD STAMPS cut, Israel got an INCREASE while Americans go hungry.
Israel has a population of approximately 7.7 million, or a million fewer than the state of New Jersey. It is among the world’s most AFFLUENT nations, with a per capita income similar to that of the European Union.[1] Israel’s unemployment rate of 6.8% is better than America’s 7.3%,[2] and Israel’s net trade, earnings, andmen payts is ranked 30th in the world while the US sits at a dismal 193rd.[3]

While Americans argue about medical care and how much it will cost, Israel has a much more generous medical care program for its citizens and does not need to worry about the costs because it’s paid for by tax-paying American citizens in the aid we give to Israel.
MEANWHILE America’s infrastructure is collapsing and AMERICAN CHILDREN go to bed HUNGRY & SICK while YOUR TAXES pay for Universal Healthcare for Israel.

    1. I’ve reluctantly posted your comment this time because I think my readers need to know the kinds of opinions I get regularly from those who truly hate Israel.
