Italian Interior Minister Salvini threatens to quit; Australia elects immigration hard-liner; and NY Times says Trump wrong on South Africa white farmers

Posted by Ann Corcoran on August 24, 2018

In the midst of vacation season for many people around the world, the news is anything but dull and quiet.

First an update from Italy on the latest migrant transport ship stalemate.

From The Express:

Italy sparks EU crisis: Brussels calls emergency migrant talks as leader threatens to QUIT

ITALIAN interior minister Matteo Salvini has sensationally threatened to resign over the latest migrant crisis engulfing bloc as the European Commission called an emergency meeting on the issue.

The leader of the right-wing Lega party is at loggerheads with Italian President Sergio Mattarella over whether 177 migrants rescued in the Mediterranean should be able to disembark from the Diciotti ship, which has been left in limbo since docking in Sicilly since Monday.

Salvini turns away another ship

Salvini trying to save his country!

Only 29 unaccompanied minors have been allowed to leave the boat so far.

He has insisted that migrants should only be able to disembark onto Italian soil if other EU allies agree to share the burden with them.

Mr Mattarella is more in favour of letting migrants onto Italian soil for humanitarian reasons and made a rare intervention to end a similar dispute last month by letting 67 migrants disembark from the Diciotti after another rescue mission.

But Mr Salvini has stepped up his opposition to the Italian President’s proposals and will not let him do the same thing again.

In a video message yesterday, he said: “Either you change the country or you change the minister.”

Alexander Winterstein: Priorities like his will be the end of Europe

European Commission spokesman Alexander Winterstein attempted to calm fears over the latest crisis that threatens to put a wedge between allies across the continent.

In a press briefing on Thursday, he told reporters: “We continue working towards a swift resolution so that people on board can be safely disembarked as soon as possible.

“The priority for everyone should be to ensure these people receive the care they need.”

Moderate Malcolm is out in Australia….

Australia’s new PM is Scott Morrison as moderate Malcolm Turnbull is forced out

Socially conservative architect of hardline asylum policies takes the helm as fifth prime minister in five years

[Since Turnbull is now out, does that mean the “Dumb deal” to take Australia’s rejected asylum seekers to America is dead?—ed]

Australia has a new prime minister in Scott Morrison – the socially conservative architect of Australia’s hardline anti-asylum seeker policies – after he mounted a late challenge during a drawn-out struggle for power in the governing Liberal party.

Read the whole story at The Guardian, here.

And then this on South Africa…

I assume you have been following the extensive news accounts coming out of SA about the Communist government there beginning to take farm land without compensation from white farmers.

The New York Times is downplaying that news and once again it (everything in the world!) is all Trump’s fault or in some way connected to him.

Crosses to commemorate the number of farmers murdered in South Africa

I’ve been writing about the decay and the xenophobia in South Africa for years that puts a lie to the Leftwing meme that S.A. is the “Rainbow nation” (implying it welcomes all colors).

It does not and in fact please note that the US is still bringing Somalis and other Africans (not the white refugees!) to your towns and cities as refugees from SA “xenophobia.”  (See my South Africa archive by clicking here.)

Here is the NY Times playing down the latest news…. Trump can never be correct in their eyes!

Trump Cites False Claims of Widespread Attacks on White Farmers in South Africa

CAPE TOWN, South Africa — President Trump waded into South Africa’s proposal to seize land from white farmers, saying in a post on Twitter late Wednesday that he had asked Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to “closely study” the “the large scale killing of farmers” — a claim disputed by official figures and the country’s biggest farmer’s group.

Mr. Trump’s comment came after the Fox News host Tucker Carlson presented a late-night program on South Africa, including land seizures and homicides, and described President Cyril Ramaphosa as “a racist.” [Nothing cuts the Left so much than to call a black leader a racist!—ed]

The tweet gives prominence to a false narrative [this is a news story, not an editorial!—ed] pushed by some right-wing groups in South Africa that there have been numerous seizures of white-owned land and widespread killings of white farmers. Some of those groups have brought their claims to the United States on lobbying trips.

NYT! Your bias is showing!

Just imagine if some Leftist ‘humanitarian’ NGO was bringing claims of genocide of blacks in Africa to America, would the NYT refer to their efforts as merely “lobbying trips?”  Never in a million years.

Then this! The government is only taking “unused land.”

The government has said expropriating farms is necessary to deal with longstanding inequities and that only unused land would be subject to seizure, suggesting that land that is being actively farmed would be safe.

And whew, the NYT goes on—-the numbers of farmers killed is down to 47 this past year, while in the previous year it was 66 who were murdered working the land.  I guess to the NYT, over 100 killed in 2 years doesn’t constitute “widespread killings.”

The International Left (through house organs like the NYT) must at all costs keep the myth of the black run South Africa as the Rainbow Nation alive!

Stories of killings to drive out white landowners must be squelched!

Read it all here.

News roundup: Simpson questions Heritage’s basic premise in refugee program “reform” plan

Posted by Ann Corcoran on December 18, 2017

As I said yesterday, postings could be light over the next two weeks.

Today, unless something huge happens, here are some news items you should see:

~Jim Simpson writing at the Daily Caller goes in to great detail about the Heritage Foundation ‘Blueprint for reform’ proposal (see what we said here) that was more foreign policy first than American citizen first in its conclusions.

Chinese Montana deal 2

Cattlemen making a deal in Beijing! Selling out Montana? China to build a $100 million meatpacking plant in the Big Sky state. Will, without a doubt, attract immigrant/refugee labor to whichever town is chosen.  Citizens of Montana should make field trips to changed communities throughout the West and Midwest. Start in Ft. Morgan, CO to see what is in store for you! I’ve seen it firsthand.

~Libertarian ‘thinkers’ are not our friends on issue of mass migration/Muslim refugees, see here.  Do they believe in Open Borders? More Muslim migration?

~Breitbart: Muslim migrants in Germany must learn about Holocaust in effort by government to stem antisemitism there.  They can demand all they want, but will Islamists do what they are told?  What do you think?

~Minnesota has a traveling propaganda show—get to know your neighbors—focused on St. Cloud. Will tell “stories” about wonderful immigrants in the state. It makes me laugh because we can play the “story” game too! Imagine if we had a traveling show of dangerous and otherwise undesirable refugees/immigrants, like these I wrote about last year. Can you hear the mainstream media shrieking? (I can dream!).

~Meanwhile, mentioned in the propaganda show article, a new citizens ‘watchdog’ group has formed in St. Cloud.  Learn about it here.

~I was delighted to see that they aren’t taking it lying down in Ireland. Citizens there protest arrival of asylum center and say take care of our own poor people first (what a novel idea!).

~Maybe there is hope for saving Austria! From Gatestone Institute:

A coalition between the anti-immigration Austrian People’s Party and the anti-establishment Austrian Freedom Party, which will be sworn into office on December 18, is poised to catapult Austria to the vanguard of Western Europe’s resistance to mass migration from the Muslim world.

~You know that Australia deal we’ve been talking about. Well this is what we get out of the deal—30 Central American fake refugees, not even in the US, go to Australia! They were not our problem in the first place!  By the way, my recent post on the dumb and dangerous deal is now over 30,000 people reached at Facebook in under 24 hours.

~And, since that dumb deal isn’t moving fast enough for the Australian Left, they blockaded the port at Melbourne in protest, here.

~In case you missed it, Speaker Paul Ryan says “have more babies” to solve many problems with aging population. Does that mean that he believes immigration is not the best way to add workers to America?  The Left must be going nuts. This is what they said about me when I made the same suggestion.

~It is going ahead, Chinese company will build massive feedlot and packing plant in Montana. There is no doubt this will bring large numbers of immigrant/refugee workers (or will the Chinese bring their own people?) and change forever (culturally and environmentally) whatever town (not chosen yet) is nearby. Sad.

Chinese investors will place additional $100 million in Montana feedlots and a packing plant.

More news could be added here during the day, so come back and have a look later.

News roundup February 8, 2017

Posted by Ann Corcoran on February 8, 2017

Editor:  Because the issue continues to be hot (and I’m getting so many new readers)—swamped with e-mails, facebook messages, phone calls to return, media requests to respond to, and comments to posts etc.—I am taking some time today to clean up my mess.

Update: LOL! I am reading e-mails including hate mail.  One, who hates Trump and me, sent his screed with one of those privacy notices at the bottom and reminded me that I was not permitted to post it.  What a chicken!

The number of articles involving refugees is exploding!  Here are just some from the last day or so for your reading ‘pleasure.’

And, btw, a request for information from a grassroots activist reminds me to remind you to see ‘FAQs! Finding stuff’ at the top of this page, click here.  You can find a link to your state refugee coordinators, contact information for your city’s refugee resettlement contractors, and a link to a post about ‘ten things town needs to know’ among other useful information.

To all of my new readers, you might want to use our search window and enter your state’s name to see what we have written about it over the years.  Also, if you want to see everything I have said on the Trump EO, see my category Trump Watch! by clicking here.  My statement to reporters is here.

Below are ten articles, in no particular order of importance, to see today!  (I may add to this list as the day goes on!)

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving 2016 with family and friends and are now rested and ready to continue the revolution to make America great again!

While you were away, I posted what I think are very important stories, and because I want to be sure you got them all (some of you reported that you didn’t get my post on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (9/11 mastermind) telling interrogators that the Islamists plan to take over America by immigration and out-breeding us), I’m listing here a series of posts I wrote since the day you got in the car (or on a plane) to head to grandma’s house for Thanksgiving!

Not good: Nikki Haley to be Trump Ambassador to United Nations

Australian press thinks its unlikely US will take rejected ‘refugees’ off their hands

9/11 Mastermind says the goal of Al-Qaeda is to takeover America through immigration

Cut the crap! Australia ‘refugee’ deal is about the Australian public not wanting any more Muslim migrants

Sorry (to those of you who look for it), I didn’t get around to a weekly round-up of top posts again this past week, but will do a round-up for the month of November later this week. By the way, if you haven’t noticed there is a right hand sidebar here at RRW entitled Top Posts where the posts being most read over the last day or so are listed. There is a really old post about the Clintons and Podesta trending for some reason.

Tuesday catchall: hot news, reading your mail, answering your questions and thanking you

Posted by Ann Corcoran on October 11, 2016

I’m just going to have to take a breather (from posting) today and maybe even tomorrow.

There is so much hot news on refugees, as well as the election news that will have an impact on whether we continue to fling open America’s gates to the third world that I have been trying to keep up with that I am woefully behind in answering your mail (both here and mail sent to my post office box).  I’ll be working on that today.

But, to lighten my load going forward, here are some things you can do on your own to learn more about the US Refugee Admissions Program and what it means for your town and for our country.

For new readers who need to know and longtime readers who once knew (but maybe have forgotten)!

(Tip for new readers, if you come back here everyday, have patience, you will eventually catch up because I try really hard to link back to previous material.)

~Check our Frequently asked Questions under our banner above. You will find links there for doing research on your own.

~Use our search window by using a few key words (this wordpress search function is really very good).  We have almost 8,000 posts archived there so surely you will find some things you need.

~Serious students of the US Refugee Admissions Program should learn how to use the US State Department data base located at the Refugee Processing Center to see who (and how many) have been placed in your city/state. Click here. It takes a little practice, but you can do it.

~I have a facebook page with over 31,000 likes, click here, you might want to follow news there because a friend posts things other than my posts. I post a few of what I think are my best posts.

~A commenter liked my list of Republican traitors to Trump and asked how to further check out one’s own representatives.  I recommend checking scores at NumbersUSA and at Conservative Review’s Liberty Scorecard.

~Get a twitter account (even if you only go there to read news). The hottest news anywhere is at twitter if you pick the right people to follow. I tweet news throughout the day on immigration, refugees and the election.  Facebook might be equally good, but I have never been much of a facebooker (in case you wonder why I rarely respond there). On twitter, I am @refugeewatcher.

~I follow the Drudge Report on and off all day and you should too.  He has been covering a lot of refugee related news. (So thanks for sending me news, but if it is on Drudge, I’ve likely seen it).

~You should regularly follow: Leo Hohmann at World Net Daily, Michael Patrick Leahy at Breitbart, Daniel Horowitz at Conservative Review and Daniel Greenfield at Frontpage Magazine who all write regularly on the refugee issue. Go to Blue Ridge Forum where my friend Richard has the best blogroll (for issues that concern us directly here at RRW). It is one-stop shopping for links to all of these writers and more.  (My blogroll is out of date).

~Set google alerts for topics of interest. You might, for example, set one for your state and the word refugees and everyday news (story links) on that topic shows up in your inbox.

~And, one last thing. I am going to post a select few testimonies some of you sent to Senator Sessions last week. The first one is here.  Write to me today at and send me yours’ to review. I will be spending time today at that e-mail account trying to get caught up.

Enough of that…..

Here is some hot refugee-related news….

Tip of the iceberg this morning! These are some of the important stories that I want you to see, but have no time to post (I’m going to add to the list during the day, so please come back later):

The Syrian Refugee Resettlement Is Being Done in Secret

New U.N. chief abandoned Mideast Christians to ISIS

Refugee Resettlement Program Scam the Public

Trump takes swing at debate question over Islamists’ strategy

Refugee Resettlement: City of Fargo trying to find out the costs

US preparing to emulate Canada’s private refugee-sponsor system

More coming…..
