Germany frets, Soros lurks, as Spanish Socialists welcome African migrants

Posted by Ann Corcoran on August 7, 2018

Reports at Deutsche Welle and Breitbart yesterday confirm that Germany (and Mama Merkel) are clearly worried about the surge in migrants being admitted to Spain.

Daniel Pipes lists European leaders who could save Western civilization

Posted by Ann Corcoran on August 3, 2018

He doesn’t exactly put it that way. The title of his piece yesterday is simply:

Who Are Europe’s Most Important Politicians?

President of the Middle East Forum, Daniel Pipes is a historian/author with a primary focus on Islam and migration.

Invasion of Europe news….

First Pipes tells us that he had put his faith in Geert Wilders a few years ago, and although he still admires the Dutch politician, he says Wilders perhaps focused too much on the nature of Islam and not enough on what migration generally was doing to the Netherlands and Europe.

Here are a few snips from Pipes’ piece published in the Washington Times yesterday, here, and at the Middle East Forum here:

After expressing admiration and explaining about Wilders, Pipes says….

orban and merkel

Her foolish actions helped create powerful leaders like Hungarian PM Viktor Orban

Update: Italy allows some of the latest migrants off the ships in Sicily

Posted by Ann Corcoran on July 16, 2018

Relocating the migrants would “lead down the road to hell!”

(Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis)

Invasion of Europe news….

This is an update of yesterday’s post about Italy telling other EU countries that they needed to step-up and take in 50 each of the 450 African and Middle Eastern migrants rescued by two Frontex vessels over the weekend.

Italy rescue ship

The next generation! “New Europeans” carried ashore in Siccily

So far now, five countries have agreed to take 50 each (mostly men): Germany, France, Malta, Spain and Portugal.  So who will get the remaining 200?

Lastest migrant ships stopped by Italy, Italian PM calls on other EU countries to take them

Posted by Ann Corcoran on July 15, 2018

Invasion of Europe news…..

He is calling their bluff!

Other European countries agreed just recently to share the burden with an invasion weary Italy, let’s see how many keep their word.

Italian Coast Guard ship Diciotti with migrants arrives in Trapani

Some of the latest batch of African men ‘rescued’ at sea.

So far Germany, France and Malta have agreed to 50 each which means 300 (of the original 450) are still in limbo.

I was looking for any mention of where the 450 are at right now.

Let me know if you see that important bit of information.

From The Local:

France, Germany, Malta will take 50 rescued migrants each: Italian PM

Trump to Europeans: You are losing your culture!

Posted by Ann Corcoran on July 13, 2018

I was telling a reporter just yesterday that perhaps one of Donald Trump’s greatest gifts to us is that, with his penchant for speaking his mind, he gives us permission to say what we believe in our hearts, but may fear saying.

So here he is in the UK speaking frankly to The Sun, as reported by The Hill:

Trump: Europe is ‘losing its culture’ because of immigration

President Trump is railing against what he described as the migration of “millions and millions of people” into Europe, declaring that the continent is “losing its culture” to refugees and asylum seekers from the Middle East and Africa.

In an interview with the British tabloid The Sun published Thursday, Trump said that it is a “shame” that European leaders had allowed so many migrants to enter their countries’ borders.

President Donald Trump speaks at a rally in Great Falls, Mont.

“Allowing the immigration to take place in Europe is a shame,” the U.S. president told the tabloid, which his owned by conservative media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

I think it changed the fabric of Europe and, unless you act very quickly, it’s never going to be what it was and I don’t mean that in a positive way,” he continued.

Trump’s publicized comments came shortly after he arrived in the U.K. for a long-awaited trip on the heels of a tense set of meetings at the annual NATO summit in Brussels, where he delivered a blistering criticism of European allies and demanded that member nations pay more for defense.

The president’s comments during his interview with The Sun, however, highlighted Trump’s deeply held skepticism of immigration and resurfaced a line of attack that he had used often on the campaign trail – that Europe was being overrun by non-Europeans and was quickly becoming a shell of what it once was.

“I think you are losing your culture,” he told the tabloid….

The Hill reporter goes on to say, but, but, but, the numbers coming in have slowed.

I have seen that talking point everywhere. So, even if the numbers of migrants have diminished somewhat in the last two years, the damage was done when hundreds of thousands of Africans and Middle Easterners previously got in and are still there roaming around Europe!

See my ‘Invasion of Europe’ archive (which I have been adding to for years) by clicking here.

Endnote: As regular readers know, I watch CNN for a bit every morning to learn what has their panties-in-a-wad each day, and boy were they freaking out about The Sun interview, but not one word about this part of the interview—-the immigration/cultural destruction comments!

British report: 700,000 migrants piling up in Libya waiting for their chance to jump to Europe

Posted by Ann Corcoran on July 9, 2018

Invasion of Europe news…..

I should have posted this yesterday, but it doesn’t matter if the news is a bit old.  The major point I want to make with this post is this (something that no one seems to want to get the answer to):

So where are these impoverished people from all over Africa and the Middle East (Central America too!) getting gobs of cash to pay traffickers?

Where are the investigators trying to find that answer because that answer, whatever it is, could potentially bring down the whole scam.

I have some ideas, and you probably do as well, but why doesn’t anyone (who could actually do something about it) ever seem to want the answer.

Or, do they know, and they don’t want us to know!

Germany: Mama Merkel survives for now, but significantly weakened

Posted by Ann Corcoran on July 3, 2018

“Under her continued leadership, Germany will be largely immobilized at home and in Europe.”

(Thomas Kleine-Brockhoff, director of the Berlin office of the German Marshall Fund)

To save herself (HER government) she agreed to border controls for Germany.

Details are “sketchy,” but she agreed to the creation of transit centers at Germany’s borders to detain incoming migrants.

The migrants will be sorted and those who applied for asylum elsewhere in Europe will be returned to that country. The others??? Will they be deported immediately? Or, is Germany in for many years of housing migrants in camps?

Merkel we love you

Will the migrants love her now?

This New York Times story on what happened yesterday isn’t bad considering the source and makes the point near the end that Donald Trump is also putting pressure on Germany to pay-up for their NATO defense protection, or else.  The ‘or else’ could be the removal of more of our military from the German state where we have tens of thousands of American servicemen stationed.

When President Trump goes to the NATO summit in a week, he will be meeting a very much weakened German chancellor.

Agreeing to any sort of border controls is a BFD!  One of the founding principles in the creation of the European Union was the idea of free movement of people between its participating countries and Angela Merkel was a leading proponent of that policy.

From the New York Times:

Merkel, to Survive, Agrees to Border Camps for Migrants

BERLIN — Chancellor Angela Merkel, who staked her legacy on welcoming hundreds of thousands of migrants into Germany, agreed on Monday to build border camps for asylum seekers and to tighten the border with Austria in a political deal to save her government.

It was a spectacular turnabout for a leader who has been seen as the standard-bearer of the liberal European order but who has come under intense pressure at home from the far right and from conservatives in her governing coalition over her migration policy.

Although the move to appease the conservatives exposed her growing political weakness, Ms. Merkel will limp on as chancellor. For how long is unclear. The nationalism and anti-migrant sentiment that has challenged multilateralism elsewhere in Europe is taking root — fast — in mainstream German politics.

Ms. Merkel agreed to the latest policy after an insurrection over migration policy led by her interior minister, Horst Seehofer, threatened to bring down her coalition.

Mr. Seehofer demanded that Germany block migrants at the border if they have no papers, or have already registered in another European country.

Ms. Merkel, who supports free movement across Europe’s borders, has been opposed to any moves effectively resurrecting border controls until Monday night, when she made the deal to stay in power.

[….]

It would establish camps, called “transit centers,” at points along the border. Newly arriving migrants would be screened in the centers, and any determined to have already applied for asylum elsewhere in the European Union would be turned back.

Turning them back to the countries where they first arrived is going to cause even more tension between Germany and its neighbors. But, not mentioned here is what about all those who have no legitimate right to asylum, are they going to ship them right back to Africa or the Middle East?

Merkel in the breach—holding back the rise of the right!

Maria-Ladenburger-Hussein-Khavari-743317

The New York Times story briefly refers to the rape and murder of Maria, a German student, by an Afghan asylum seeker as the beginning of the change in attitude of the German public about Merkel’s welcome to migrants in 2015.

Under Ms. Merkel, Germany has been a bulwark against the rise of the far right in Europe and the increasing turn against migrants. Even as neighboring countries turned away those fleeing war and strife in the Middle East, she has welcomed more than a million since 2015, and lobbied for a collective European solution.

[….]

Anti-migrant feelings helped lead to the rise of a far-right political party, the Alternative for Germany, or AfD, which has put Germany’s more mainstream parties under pressure to change.

Ms. Merkel has been unable to stem the changing tide, with cascading implications for politics in Germany and Europe.

Much more here.

President Trump should find her less cocky (than he found her in Canada at the recent G7 meeting) when he gets to the NATO summit next week in Brussels.

LOL!  Maybe they can share notes on detention centers!  Will German’s separate the children for instance?

Merkel’s government on brink of COLLAPSE blares headline

Posted by Ann Corcoran on July 2, 2018

Remember the famous line from the Clintonistas: It’s the economy stupid!  No, it is immigration stupid! It is the issue of our lifetime, of the century and beyond.

Screenshot (562)

Merkel lectured Trump in Canada last month. Sit down Angela!

We’ve been reporting on the trouble for the “world’s most powerful woman” for sometime. It is the trouble she brought on herself by opening Germany’s gates to more than a million invaders three years ago and thus creating a magnet for more illegal aliens who necessarily must travel through other countries to reach Merkel’s nirvana.

Merkel’s folly might now (finally) be due for a reckoning and hopefully will serve as a powerful lesson to all political leaders who have a hankering to invite the masses in to a first world country. Invite them and they will come.

Highly anticipated EU “deal” on migration is a nothing-burger!

Posted by Ann Corcoran on June 29, 2018

Because I’ve been telling you in advance about the pow-wow in Brussels yesterday about the migrant invasion of Europe and what the EU will do about it, I’m compelled to give you an update of the disappointing results.

They talked and talked, indeed they talked all night, and came up with what the NY Times even says is a ‘deal’ with “sketchy” details.

Migrants on the “Aquarius” turned away by Italy precipitating the EU’s latest migration crisis TALKS.

The UK Express says it all in its headline:

Climate refugees: Migrant apocalypse still to come says Canadian writer

Posted by Ann Corcoran on June 25, 2018

Faithful readers know that I have been following the Leftwing/Open Borders drumbeat and warning about climate refugees for years.  See my category on the topic here.

DVD Amaray CR 8.5x14

Posted at the London Free Press, Canadian writer Gwynne Dyer says what we are seeing in Europe is a “dress rehearsal for the real migrant apocalypse” to come.

Blaming it on climate change, he says that all borders will be closed and people will be left to die.

He mentions (without giving us his opinion) that Hungary, Poland, Italy and Austria are already there.

Economic migrants!

I think he is right—-not the global warming part—that the populations of the third world are growing so rapidly and there simply aren’t jobs enough for mostly young men (in Africa, certain parts of Asia, and in Central and South America) due to the changing nature of work, and so an apocalypse is coming.

My view, not Dyer’s, is that how we handle the “dress rehearsal” depends on tough-minded leaders like Donald Trump, Viktor Orban, Sebastian Kurz and Matteo Salvini to save some parts of the first world for our children and grandchildren.

Gwynne Dyer:

Dyer: Climate change will precipitate migrant apocalypse

Around two million migrants have entered Europe claiming to be refugees since 2014, which doesn’t sound like an unbearable burden. After all, the EU has 500 million citizens. Little Lebanon has let in about the same number, although they amount to almost half its own native population.

Digital StillCamera

Gwynne Dyer

But three factors aggravate the situation in Europe. One is that the refugees in Lebanon have the same language, culture and religion as most of the Lebanese, whereas the ones who reach Europe don’t tick any of those boxes.

The second is that only a few of the EU’s 28 countries are carrying almost all of the burden: Italy, Spain and Greece, where the migrant boats arrive, and Germany, which took in almost a million migrants in 2015.

The final factor is that many of the migrants aren’t fleeing war or persecution. They are hoping for a better life in Europe than the one they left behind, and are willing to face great risks and hardships to get it.

So, the humanitarian impulse is blunted by cynicism about the migrants’ motives, and the unequal distribution of the migrant burden among the various EU member states breeds conflict between and inside those countries. The politics already is getting poisonous, and this is only a dress rehearsal for the real migrant apocalypse.

Even now, many of the “economic migrants” are really climate refugees, although they would probably not use that phrase themselves.

[….]

The changing climate will devastate food production in large parts of the Middle East and Africa, and far larger numbers of people than now will abandon their homes and head for Europe. Nobody talks about this in public, but every European government that does serious long-term planning is well aware of it.

This vision of the future colours every decision they make about migrants, for the tougher-minded among them know the borders eventually will have to be closed even if it means leaving people to die.

And some, like the Polish, Hungarian and Austrian governments, and now the Italian government as well, have effectively decided to close the borders now.

So is Dyer saying those governments are forward-thinking by trying to save themselves and their own people, or heartless for not inviting in all of Africa?

Go here to read more of Dyers’ warning.
