Uptick in Mediterranean rescues as more attempt to get to Europe from Libya

Posted by Ann Corcoran on October 15, 2017

This time it is a German ‘rescue’ ship bringing what they describe as many “unaccompanied minors” to Sicily.

Photo from this story in The Independent. “Unaccompanied minors?” Or, perhaps ‘Unaccompanied men’ would be a more appropriate description.

Here are a couple of commenters to the article at the Malta Independent:

Here is a bit of the same old story:

Some 600 migrants rescued at sea arrived Friday in Sicily — one of the biggest influxes since Italy struck a deal with Libyan authorities to limit migrant smuggling — raising concerns of a renewed surge on the Libyan human trafficking corridor.

Valeria-Calandra

President of the German “rescue organization.”

The migrants, including many unaccompanied minors from sub-Saharan Africa, were rescued in seven operations over 36 hours, and transported Friday to Palermo by the German non-governmental organization SOS Mediterranee.

[….]

SOS Mediterranee President Valeria Calandra told Sky TG24 that the renewed instability in Libya has only increased the desire of migrants to escape the lawless North African country.

“It was very improbable that from today to tomorrow you can stop everyone,” she said.

“I think this rescue is the first of many others that will arrive.” [she hopes it is!—ed]

And, here is another comment:

Polish Catholics celebrate Battle of Lepanto, send a clear message to Islamists

Posted by Ann Corcoran on October 8, 2017

Invasion of Europe news….

Poland is a Christian nation and they plan to keep it that way!

Gives me a glimmer of hope for the Catholic Church (at least in Poland!).

Interesting that the BBC would call Polish Catholic celebration for peace yesterday a “controversial” event.

From the BBC:

Tens of thousands have taken part in a controversial prayer day in Poland.

Catholics were encouraged to go to designated points along the country’s borders for a mass rosary prayer for the salvation of Poland and the world.

Church leaders say the event is purely religious, but there are concerns it could be seen as endorsing the state’s refusal to let in Muslim migrants.

The feast day marks the anniversary of a Christian victory over Ottoman Turks at the sea battle of Lepanto in 1571.

People were bussed in from more than 300 churches to points all along the border.

They stood in lines, some on beaches on the Baltic Sea, some in fields and some in towns.

[….]

We want our Catholic faith to continue, to keep our children safe, that our brothers from other countries can understand that our faith is unwavering and that we feel safer, not only in Poland but also in the world.”

[….]

Halina Kotarska, 65, said she was expressing thanks for the survival of her son in a car crash, but also praying for the survival of Christianity in Europe.

“Islam wants to destroy Europe,” she said, quoted by the Associated Press. “They want to turn us away from Christianity.”

Some priests and Church commentators said the event could be seen as support for the government’s refusal to accept Muslim migrants, a policy backed by a majority of Poles.

[…..]

Poland, along with Hungary and the Czech Republic, refused to take part in an EU deal in 2015 to relocate refugees from frontline states Italy and Greece.

The Polish position has put it at odds with the Vatican….

Of course!

More here.

If you want to learn more about this last great sea battle to turn back the Muslim invasion of Europe and about the later land battle at the Gates of Vienna (victory thanks to a Polish king), go here.

The Poles get it! Puzzling how few Europeans (and Americans) can’t grasp the lessons of history.

For my lengthy archive on the Invasion of Europe, click here.

Addendum! What a coincidence that the Poles kicked off their prayer for Europe on the same day US Bishops launched their PR campaign to get Americans’ minds right on more migration to America!

Hillary’s legacy in Libya could affect you!

Posted by Ann Corcoran on September 30, 2017

UN short-circuiting the flow from Libya to Europe by sending migrants to the good ol’ welcoming USA?

Hillary, along with her gal pals Susan Rice and Samantha Power, are the leading culprits in the Obama Administration’s disastrous involvement in the overthrow of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and the creation of a failed state that has become a primary route for the migrant invasion of Europe.

hillary and gal pals

Susan Rice, Samantha Power and Hillary. Photo is from a blog called The Political Girl that asks: Are women leading the way in Libya?

Now we learn that the UN, partially in hopes of saving the present Italian government (Italians are pretty angry about the Libya to Italy express), is planning to open up a refugee holding facility in Tripoli where migrants will be detained until they can be moved to transit centers.

But, guess what! Most in the transit centers will go to Canada, Norway, and drum roll—the United States.

Hillary gloats about knocking off Gaddafi turning Libya into a completely unstable hell hole, and America gets more refugees!

From Reuters  (emphasis is mine):

ROME (Reuters) – The U.N. refugee agency is seeking to open a refugee transit center in Tripoli early next year to resettle or evacuate as many as 5,000 of the most vulnerable refugees out of Libya each year, a senior U.N. official said on Friday.

It is a small fraction of the total number of Libya’s migrant population, estimated at as many as 1 million, but would be a welcome outlet for the 43,000 refugees that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) estimates are now trapped in Libya.

“We hope to have the (written) authorization soon,” Roberto Mignone, the UNHCR’s representative in Libya, told Reuters in Rome. The U.N.-backed Tripoli government has already approved the project verbally, he said.

[….]

Italy has become the main migrant route to Europe since an agreement between the EU and Turkey shut down smuggling through Greece last year, but arrivals have fallen sharply since July, when an armed group clamped down on departures.

With the backing of the European Union, Italy has financed, trained and equipped by the Tripoli-based coast guard. With a national election due early next year, Italy is also promising tens of millions of euros to Prime Minister Fayez al-Seraj and municipal governments to put a stop to smuggling.

[.…]

Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti has said he is depending on the U.N. refugee and migration agencies to improve conditions for refugees and migrants now trapped in Libya.

“We can’t be the only solution,” Mignone said, also because Libya remains very dangerous and international staff still have very limited access to the country.

[….]

While the UNHCR hopes to resettle many of them, it is a lengthy process. Many countries do not have a permanent diplomatic presence in Tripoli, further complicating matters.

So the agency will seek to evacuate most of them, Mignone said, to emergency transit centers in Romania, Slovakia or even Costa Rica, where they will have more time to apply for resettlement. The agency is currently working to open another emergency transit center in Niger, he said.

More at Reuters, here.

Here is one article I found telling us that ‘refugees’ in a transit center in Slovakia are destined for Canada, Norway and the US.  And, I had previously written a post on the Costa Rica transit center with our old friend HIAS being paid by the US State Department to work there.  I better start paying more attention to these transit centers!

So, if the scheme goes through, illegal aliens in Libya will be moved to a transit center and ultimately Anytown, USA instead of pushing on to Europe.

Yippee! They could be part of Donald’s FY18 45,000!

(Fiscal Year 18 begins tomorrow!)

Reuters: Muslims at the Haj are worried about Donald Trump and his policies

Posted by Ann Corcoran on September 3, 2017

…..but, not a word about the responsibility of Muslims to rein-in their terrorist element.

Screenshot (808)

These Haj Muslims seem to think our concern about Muslim migration is completely lacking in any rational calculation. Don’t miss Raheem Kassam’s good report on Islamic terrorism attacks in ‘welcoming’ Europe and how more Americans need to wake up.  http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2017/09/02/kassam-america-get-some-perspective/

(And, here they are in Saudi Arabia which will never let them stay and become citizens of that Muslim country!)

Victims, always victims!

Reuters:

MECCA/RIYADH (Reuters) – Even at Islam’s holiest sites and during the most sacred time of year for Muslims, some people cannot stop talking about Donald Trump.

Among one group of American, Canadian and British pilgrims in Mecca this week for the annual haj, the U.S. president and policies they say target Muslims and immigrants are a regular conversation topic.

“People are irritated, angry, somber, a little bit worried,” said Yasir Qadhi, an Islamic scholar who traveled from Tennessee for his fourteenth pilgrimage.

Haj

Gee, no mention of the fact that Saudi Arabia won’t let any of these millions of Muslim ‘pilgrims’ stay in their Muslim country!

“No one that I know is happy at the current circumstances or the current administration. No one, not a single person in this entire gathering.”

As a candidate, Trump proposed barring Muslims from entering the United States. In office, he ordered temporary bans on people from several Muslim-majority countries, which have been blocked by courts that ruled they were discriminatory.

His administration has denied any intention of religious discrimination in the travel ban, saying it is intended purely as a national security measure.

But sharp rhetoric about the threat posed by “radical Islam” which was a central part of his campaign has also drawn accusations he risks alienating more than three million Americans who practise Islam peacefully. [So where are the peaceful Muslims standing up at the Haj to to speak against and discourage the violent ones?—ed]

Many American Muslims say his stance has fueled an atmosphere in which some may feel they can voice prejudices or attack Muslims without fear of retribution.

‘STOP ATTACKING ISLAM’

Reuters apparently didn’t find anyone to speak up against their own terrorist element, but they found this guy!

Baha al-Deen, a pilgrim from ex-Soviet Georgia, said any labeling of Muslims as terrorists should stop.

“God gave us minds and tongues so we can understand each other and talk about our problems,” he said. “Otherwise we will fight like animals.”

Oh, that is going to inspire communication—NOT!

Malta patriots defend ship and its message

Posted by Ann Corcoran on September 1, 2017

Invasion of Europe news…..

No time for a thorough discussion, but do want you all to know about this ship (and LOL! since I have ships on my mind, see my previous post) sailing the Mediterranean.

The photo pretty much says it all:

Screenshot (795)

From the British National Party:

The C-Star vessel that has been sailing European waters to stop illegal immigration reached the Mediterranean island of Malta on route to Cyprus.

However, the Maltese government denied access to their territorial waters leaving the crew unable to restock or refuel.

Defend Europe is a movement against the Islamic invasion of Europe.

It has members from many European countries.

In July, Defend Europe chartered a ship and sailed to the Mediterranean to stem the flow of refugees and migrants from Libya.

Continue here for the rest of the story.

My ‘Invasion of Europe’ archive is here.

Malta-to-America Express

And, I have a huge archive on Malta.  I have been following the illegal action of our US State Department which has for ten years (Bush started it!) been bringing illegal aliens from Africa (who arrived on Malta) to America as refugees!

Trump may have stopped the Malta-to-America express, but I don’t know for sure because Trump’s State Department is as secretive as all the previous ones I’ve seen on this issue.

Gallup: who in the world ‘welcomes’ refugees?

Posted by Ann Corcoran on August 24, 2017

Much to my surprise, five African countries are in the top ten “accepting of migrants” countries in the world.

africa-political

Five African countries are in the top ten most accepting of migrants.

So why is the US responsible for taking tens of thousands of so-called refugees from Africa every year? Can’t they stay in welcoming parts of the continent?

Here is the fascinating report from Gallup:

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Many countries on the front lines of the recent migrant crisis in Europe are among the least-accepting countries in the world for migrants, according to Gallup’s new Migrant Acceptance Index. Nine of the 10 countries that score a 2.39 or lower (out of a possible 9.0) on the index are former Soviet bloc countries — with most located along the Balkan route that once channeled asylum seekers from Greece to Germany. Israel, which has dealt with its own influx of asylum seekers from Africa in the past decade, is the only non-European country with scores this low.

There is a lot of really good stuff in here.

Notice that the US is number 18 on the list for welcoming migrants putting us above Germany and all of Europe on Gallup’s “Migrant Acceptance Index.”

Here (below) are the top ten “least” and “most” accepting.

The full list is below in Gallup’s news story.  While the US is 18th (most accepting). European countries that have been overrun are increasingly less accepting–Germany is 23rd, the UK is 38, Italy 43, France 46, Belgium and Greece below that.

I have to laugh because both Iceland and New Zealand take only tiny numbers of refugees so of course they haven’t experienced the ‘joy’ that some countries, especially in most of Europe, have had yet.

On the “least”  accepting side, numbers 12 and 13 are Pakistan and Afghanistan. You will see that the Middle East generally is the “least” accepting region of the world and the Muslim parts of North Africa are near the bottom too (when Gallup lists by region).

Go here for more, I’m sure you will find some juicy bits of information (for use now or to save for later).

Muslims to Europe: One day all of this is ours

Posted by Ann Corcoran on August 20, 2017

It is demography stupid!  And, they get it. So why don’t European leaders do something about it?

Gatestone Institute posted another story with the statistics yesterday, you can read it here.

We can see what the problem is, so why the hesitancy in finding a solution?

Hungarian PM Viktor Orban: We must solve our own demographic problems.

What I want to know is aren’t there smart people in governments that see it coming and are encouraging Europeans (and the Japanese in their case) to have more children.

Find tax incentives, find more ways to make it easier for Europeans and for the Japanese to support more children in large families, create media campaigns/TV shows about the joy of large families—make it cool to have babies!

And, expose the big money globalists (and chamber of commerce types) who see numbers of people in terms of consumers of their products.  Maybe someone needs to be thinking in terms of  smaller economic growth and how to get used to that for awhile as Europeans kick-start their production of their own babies.

And, of course, most of all stop the importation of Middle Easterners and Africans who will be outproducing those of European heritage. Let them stabilize their populations in their own parts of the world.

This post is filed in my ‘Invasion of Europe’ archive, click here to access.

***Update***

It begins!  A few minutes ago I posted this story on twitter with a photo of some cute babies.  Look what twitter did. Since when is RRW “sensitive content?” And, who decided?

UN: Spain not ready for large influx of migrants from Africa

Posted by Ann Corcoran on August 18, 2017

…..even less ready today?

This United Nations-generated story was published yesterday before we learned about an Islamic terror attack in Barcelona committed by some killers from Morocco.

So what are the odds that the Spanish public isn’t going to be too excited about finding resources and accommodations for the illegal migrants (70% are MEN)?

From The Guardian:

Spain lacks capacity to handle migration surge, says UN refugee agency

UNHCR warning comes as Spanish coastguard intercepts nearly 600 people in a day trying to reach country from Morocco

Spain lacks the resources and capacity to protect the rising number of refugees and migrants reaching it by sea, the UN refugee agency has said.

The warning from UNHCR comes as the Spanish coastguard said it rescued 593 people in a day from 15 small paddle boats, including 35 children and a baby, after they attempted to cross the seven-mile Strait of Gibraltar.

The number of refugees and migrants risking the sea journey between Morocco and Spain has been rising sharply, with the one-day figure the largest since August 2014, when about 1,300 people landed on the Spanish coast in a 24-hour period.

About 9,300 migrants have arrived in Spain by sea so far this year, while a further 3,500 have made it to two Spanish enclaves in north Africa, Ceuta and Melilla, the EU’s only land borders with Africa.

María Jesús Vega, a spokeswoman for UNHCR Spain, said police were badly under-resourced and there was a lack of interpreters and a shortage of accommodation for the new arrivals.

“The state isn’t prepared and there aren’t even the resources and the means to deal with the usual flow of people arriving by sea,” she said.

There is much more…..

After yesterday, I predict that Spanish citizens won’t be receptive to finding the “resources.”

Here is a good graphic from The Guardian:

Media silent on the biggest issue of our time

Posted by Ann Corcoran on August 15, 2017

Yesterday a reader, Kafir, directed me to this month-old Mark Steyn video. I urge all of you to take twenty-four minutes and watch it.

It is demographics stupid!

If the video doesn’t play, you can read about it and see the video, here. As I write this it is at 59,396 views.  Help it go higher!
