Hillary’s Libyan legacy still responsible for invasion of Europe as Italy panics

Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 19, 2017

Invasion of Europe news….

I’m not going to let you all forget that it was Hillary and her girls who were responsible for the overthrow of Libyan strongman Muammar Ghaddafi that resulted in the opening of the flood gates from Africa to Europe for tens of thousands of mostly economic migrants from the heart of Africa to countries like Italy geographically on the frontline of the invasion.

Even Obama didn’t have the stomach for the slaughter of Ghaddafi.  I followed the whole sorry tale from its earliest days here at RRW.

Susan Rice, Hillary and Samantha Power. Hillary admitted that in 2011 Obama was reluctant to follow Europe’s lead and get involved in Libya, but that she marshaled the forces (including Susan Rice and Samantha Power) to persuade Obama to help overthrow Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Ultimately, she said, it was the President’s decision thereby tossing blame back on Obama when the results of her actions have proven so disastrous. https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/2015/10/23/hillary-and-the-girls-are-to-blame-for-libyan-hellhole-european-invasion/

Of course the Europeans made that fatal mistake in the earliest days of the invasion by not turning back (using safe methods) the first boats that were launched from the Libyan coast. Now they rescue each one sending a signal to people smugglers to keep ’em coming!

Here is the latest news from Middle East Monitor:

Italy panics as North Africa migrants surge

Italy will host a meeting between European and North African countries next week in a bid to strengthen support for an agreement it struck with Libya to fight people smuggling as migrant arrivals surge.

The prime minister of the UN-backed government in Tripoli, Fayez Al-Seraj, will meet with Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni and interior ministers from eight European countries including Germany and France on Monday.

Last month, Italy pledged money, training and equipment to help Libya fight people smugglers, a deal that was endorsed by European Union member states.

But Libya is still far from stable. Two governments are vying for power – in Tobruk to the east and Tripoli to the west – and the country remains mired in factional fighting and lawlessness.

The authorities in eastern Libya have rejected the deal struck between Rome and Tripoli.

“I’m not so naive as to not understand the situation there,” Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti told reporters. “But we cannot remain immobile and wait for the country to stabilise.”

He said the Libya agreement and next week’s meeting were not just “talk”, but strategic steps toward managing mass migration to Europe.

So far this year more than 16,000 migrants – a 36 per cent increase on the same period last year – have been rescued at sea and brought to Italy after Libya-based people smugglers piled them onto flimsy boats.

Don’t miss Hillary cackling about her success in killing Gaddafi. She looks like an absolute loon here:

Another version of Hillary’s  looney laugh, is here. Don’t you think it might be too early for her to come out of the woods!

Samantha Power whines: don’t cut UN funding!

Posted by Ann Corcoran on January 15, 2017

Perhaps after Obama and Hillary, Samantha Power is next on my list of Leftists I will be happy to see leave the world stage.

We have written extensively about Ms. Power who along with Hillary and Susan Rice (I called them the three witches!) nagged Obama to overthrow Muammar Gaddafi which unleashed a new wave of African migration to Europe via the now failed state of Libya.

samantha-power-and-obama

Samantha Power and Obama share the same views of Israel and you can bet she was knee deep in getting the anti-Israel resolution through the Security Council.

Readers, if the US cuts our funding to the UN (I know it’s a long shot), but that one act could help ‘pause’ refugee admissions to America like nothing else (since the UN is now picking almost all of our refugees).

Unfortunately it looks like the Ted Cruz/Lindsey Graham effort to cut funding is tied only to the resolution on Israel.

From Breitbart Jerusalem:

(AFP) UNITED NATIONS, United States — US Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power on Friday warned that cutting US funding to the United Nations would be “extremely detrimental” to American interests, one week before Donald Trump’s administration takes office.

Addressing her final news conference, Power told reporters that “countries like Russia and China” would benefit from Washington’s reduced standing at the United Nations if funding were withdrawn.

“We lead the world, in part, by leading at the UN,” said Power, who is stepping down next week after four years as President Barack Obama’s ambassador to the United Nations.

[….]

The Safeguard Israel Act of 2017 — introduced by Senate Republicans Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham — aims to push back against the UN by threatening to pull billions of dollars in funding.

See my Samantha Power archive here.

She began her White House career as the Iraqi refugee czar but was quoted in 2012 indicating her frustration with  “doing rinky-dink do-gooder stuff,” such as advocating on behalf of beleaguered Christians in Iraq.

She moved on to join the girls (the “humanitarian Vulcans”) in working to destabilize Libya and from there she climbed to her perch at the UN.

I shudder to think where she will turn up next!

Cut the crap! Australia ‘refugee’ deal is about the Australian public not wanting any more Muslim migrants

Posted by Ann Corcoran on November 27, 2016

….while Obama is willing to take all he can get!

Look at this New York Times story on the supposed deal the Obama Administration has made with Australia to take its rejected asylum seekers off their hands! And, look at the UN twisting like a pretzel as it tries to explain why this insane deal is even being considered.

What it all boils down to is this: the Australian public (the voters) are sick and tired of all the Muslim boat people trying to break into Australia (so they have been parked offshore), but Australian political leaders, by agreeing to take Central American (phony refugees) in Costa Rica, are banking on being able to sell the public on most likely Catholics (or Christians of some sort) rather than the Muslims whose asylum cases were rejected!

This is basically a swap of illegal aliens! Don’t believe the UN that this is a “one-off!”  Check out Malta, the European island nation that sends the US its overflow African illegal alien boat people, a travesty we have been writing about for years.

The Muslim boat people held in detention in Australian offshore facilities have had their asylum claims rejected.  So neither those on Nauru or those in Costa Rica are legitimate (by definition) refugees!

For background, before you read on, see Grassley and Goodlatte blast Obama, hereThere is a list of the nationalities of the failed asylum seekers, most come from Muslim countries.

New York Times (hat tip: heymister24):

SYDNEY, Australia — For years, the United Nations’ refugee agency told Australia that its policy of banishing asylum seekers to remote Pacific island detention centers was illegal.

samantha-power

This is Obama’s Ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power. This “deal” sounds like something she wholeheartedly approved. What will Nikki Haley do about it (or other similar deals, this is not a one-off) when she gets to the UN? Will she say No! We don’t know, but one thing we can be sure of, Haley will likely dress more professionally than Power!

Now, the agency is working with Australia in what both sides call an unusual, not-to-be-replicated agreement to send some of those refugees across the world, to be resettled in the United States.

The deal, announced by Australia last week, is aimed at shutting down two offshore detention facilities — one on the island nation of Nauru and the other on Manus Island in Papua New Guinea — where hundreds of people are housed in what rights groups describe as deplorable conditions. The United States has agreed to take some of them; how many, and how quickly, remains unclear.

[….]

In an interview this week, Volker Turk, an assistant high commissioner with the United Nations’ refugee agency, said his staff would help with the screening and resettlement of refugees but only as a “one-off” to allay their suffering. “We think there is an urgent imperative to find a humanitarian way out of this otherwise very, very, complex conundrum,” he said by telephone from Canberra, the Australian capital.

What the heck is the “complex conundrum?”

Either they are legitimate refugees that Australia should admit to the mainland or they are illegal aliens who should be returned to where they came from.

THEY ARE NOT AMERICA’S PROBLEM EITHER WAY!

NYT continues:

“We do not in any way want to give the impression that we would continue supporting such types of mechanisms,” Mr. Turk said, referring to Australia’s offshore detention policy. “We, all of us, are very clear that this is a one-off, good offices, exceptional humanitarian type of involvement because we do not believe that the future of handling this lies in sending people to Manus Island and Nauru.”

[….]

Making the deal even more unusual, Australia has agreed to take in an unspecified number of Central American refugees who fled gang violence in their homelands.  [Fleeing gang violence is not a criteria for being designated a refugee!—ed]  The United Nations says there are an estimated 2,400 such people from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras who have been screened and recognized as refugees [Who “recognized” them?—ed]. The United States has long been reluctant to let them apply for asylum on its territory and only recently agreed to let the United Nations vet them at a processing center in Costa Rica.

I REPEAT, WHY ARE THE CENTRAL AMERICANS WHO FLED TO COSTA RICA OUR PROBLEM?

Legitimate asylum seekers are supposed to ask for asylum in the first safe country they get to, they are not supposed to be ‘asylum shopping’ for better deals! By doing this ‘one-time’ (ha! ha!) deal we set the precedent for many more to come!

Obama refugee show at UN next week: Will it be a bust?

Posted by Ann Corcoran on September 13, 2016

And, it is not me asking that.  It is at IRIN (a news site aimed at a “humanitarian” audience).

After wading through the many paragraphs on what is expected to happen (not much) with the United Nations Refugee shindig on the 19th in New York, we come to the important section about Obama’s special propaganda show on the 20th. We expect him to use the gathering to lecture and guilt-trip Americans into “welcoming” even more of the third world to live in your neighborhoods.

samantha_power_obama_hillary_clinton_ap_605_605

Samantha Power (left) put this show together. And, with any luck all three of these “humanitarians” will be has-beens come January 2017. https://geneva.usmission.gov/2016/06/06/ambassador-samantha-powers-statement-on-the-leaders-summit-on-refugees/

I have to laugh at one thing a few paragraphs into the article (below).

Only countries willing to help are invited.

So this is what I want to know, if Ethiopia is on the list, does that mean they plan to keep more of their people at home and not transport them to America as refugees?

From IRIN (hat tip: Joanne):

With hopes already dashed that anything substantial will come out of the UN summit, some are looking to the Leaders’ Summit on Refugees that President Barack Obama will convene on the margins of the General Assembly the following day to deliver more tangible outcomes.

But while there are relatively few unknowns associated with the UN summit, the leaders’ gathering on Tuesday, 20 September is one big unknown.

The stated aims of the leaders’ summit are: to double the number of refugees who are resettled or admitted through other legal channels to third countries; to increase funding for humanitarian responses by 30 percent; and to increase the number of refugees in school and who are granted the legal right to work by one million each.

julian

Director of Humanitarian Practice, Julien Schopp https://www.interaction.org/users/julien-schopp

Only states willing to make “new and significant” commitments have been invited to attend. The list of attendees has not been made public but it’s expected that between 30 and 35 countries will participate, including the co-facilitators, which are Canada, Ethiopia, Germany, Sweden, and Jordan.

US State Department officials have also been tight-lipped about what the new commitments will consist of.

“The indications we’ve had is that it’s been a struggle to get commitments,” said Julien Schopp, director of humanitarian action at Interaction, a US-based alliance of international NGOs [and resettlement contractors I told you about here—ed] that has been leading the call for the leaders’ summit to be more inclusive of civil society – a call that has largely gone unanswered.

If countries do make substantial new pledges, one major concern is: whose role will it be to ensure they are actually delivered on, particularly given that the event is being hosted by an outgoing US administration?

“We’ve seen it in the past three years from the World Humanitarian Summit to the London pledging conference on Syria – everyone arrives with something that looks good and sounds good, but when you look at delivery six months later, there’s not much,” said Schopp.

Even if the leaders’ summit does deliver, Liebl points out that it’s a “one-off event”.

If you are new and don’t know who Samantha Power is, check our our archive here.  See especially how she was tired of advocating for Christian Iraqis and wanted more excitement while in the White House. So she, Hillary and Susan Rice thought that ousting Libya’s President General Gaddafi might be fun, too bad the girls’ plan unleashed a migrant invasion on Europe.

Tomorrow Obama will nag businesses to give jobs and stuff to refugees

Posted by Ann Corcoran on June 29, 2016

In September Obama and Justin Trudeau will be hosting a refugee shindig at the United Nations and so in advance of that Reuters tells us Obama will be pressuring businesses (starting tomorrow) to give more jobs to refugees, and more goodies too.  I guess he wants to brag at the UN this fall.

But, wait, aren’t we being told ad nauseum that refugees are self-sustaining within months of arrival and boosting the local economy wherever they are placed?  Can’t have it both ways!

Power with O and H

The sooner these three are gone the better off we will be! Power, Obama and Hillary want our borders erased.

Reuters:

The White House will on Thursday rally businesses to give jobs to refugees ahead of a September summit where U.S. President Barack Obama will urge world leaders to boost humanitarian funds by a third and double the number of refugees being resettled.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power, said on Wednesday that the Obama summit during the annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations would also aim to get one million refugee children in school and one million more refugees access to legal work in the neighboring countries they fled to.

“The summit is by no means a panacea; even if we hit every target, our response will still not match the scale of the crisis,” Power told the United States Institute of Peace, adding that it would boost the number of countries trying to help.

“We need businesses, big and small, to do more too; which is why tomorrow, the White House is launching a private sector call to action, which will rally companies to do their part, from providing jobs to donating services to refugees,” Power said.

So does that mean some low-skilled Americans will lose their jobs so a refugee from Africa or the Middle East can have it?

I’ll have more to say tomorrow.

Hillary (and the girls) are to blame for Libyan hellhole, European invasion

Posted by Ann Corcoran on October 23, 2015

A trip down memory lane….

As I listened to testimony yesterday at the Benghazi hearing I was reminded of the many posts I’ve written over the years about how Hillary was directly involved in the destruction of the Libyan state that ultimately led to the use of that country as an important launch pad for the Mediterranean invasion of Europe by tens of thousands of Africans and Middle Easterners.

Hillary, rice, power

Hillary admitted yesterday that in 2011 Obama was reluctant to follow Europe’s lead and get involved in Libya, but that she marshaled the forces (including Susan Rice and Samantha Power) to persuade Obama to help overthrow Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Ultimately, she said yesterday, it was the President’s decision thereby tossing blame back on Obama when the results of her actions have proven so disastrous. Ambassador Stevens and the others who died might not have been there if it weren’t for those “loose weapons.”

Here is one of our many posts on Hillary:  This one is from December 2014, but we had predicted in 2011 that Hillary’s (and yes, she admitted it yesterday that she was the leading Administration force for the overthrow of Gadaffi) misadventure in Libya was leading to a refugee crisis of massive proportion.

Hillary and the girls (dubbed the “humanitarian Vulcans” by some in the White House) said it was our “responsibility to protect” the Libyan people that underpinned our imperative to join the Europeans in overthrowing (and killing) Gadaffi.  This is what I said in December of 2011.  So much for the poor Libyan people now!

Watch for it!   The ‘responsibility to protect’ means we go to war and create a whole new bunch of refugees that need to be resettled in the West!

April 2011:  read what we said about the three witches, here.  Go here for all of our posts mentioning Hillary and Libya.

Samantha Power is one of those pushing Obama to bring more Syrian refugees to your towns

Posted by Ann Corcoran on September 17, 2015

This news is a day old, so who knows maybe Obama has already decided the magic number of Syrian (mostly Muslim) refugees he will be dropping into America towns and cities in the coming year.

Samantha Power

UN Ambassador Samantha Power was once described as one of three “humanitarian Vulcans” advising Obama. Hillary and Susan Rice rounded out the trio.

Last week we learned that Sec. of State Kerry consulted with key House and Senate committees, as the Refugee Act of 1980 requires, and it seems the number he was bandying about was 10,000 (some say Kerry said 5,000) for FY2016.

If Obama approves a different number just two weeks before the start of the fiscal year, Kerry is required to go back to the Hill for additional “consultation,” and, in any case, the House and Senate Judiciary Committees are required to hold hearings on the Presidential Determination.

The fact that the lazy (scared?) committees have not held a refugee ‘consultation’ hearing since before 9/11 is no excuse not to have one for this very critical decision!

(The last hearing held on the President’s refugee determination appears to be this one from 1999.  Has there been no hearing since then because they didn’t want you to know how many Muslims were being admitted to the US through this program?—ed)

A hearing can’t stop the President, but it sure can help the American people understand what is about to happen to them!

Where are you Reps. Goodlatte and Gowdy?  Prove me wrong!  Tell us you are doing something and I will apologize!

Here is a bit of interesting news at Bloomberg (hat tip: Joanne).  Again, it is a day old, so who knows if Obama has made a decision.

Check out Samantha Power (bff George Soros)!  The nerve of this woman.  You can credit her, Hillary and Susan Rice with the destabilization of North Africa and the  invasion of Europe because she was a driving force behind the ousting of Col. Gaddafi (who was able to hold back the migrant hordes) and the subsequent destruction of Libya.

As Iraqi Refugee Czar in the early days of the Obama White House, Power famously said she was tired of doing ‘rinkey-dink-do-gooder’ stuff like helping Iraqi Christians!  See our complete Samantha Power archive here.

Here is Josh Rogin at Bloomberg:

The Obama administration is preparing to announce a plan to admit more refugees over the next two years, but at this point the numbers being proposed are too small to relieve the crisis streaming out of Syria.

Wednesday at the White House, the most senior national security officials will discuss raising the limit on the number of refugees from around the world allowed to enter the United States — from 70,000 this year to 85,000 next year and 100,000 in fiscal 2017, three administration officials told me. If members of the National Security Council Principals Committee agree on the plan, it will be sent to President Obama’s desk, and administration sources say he is likely to quickly approve it.

The plan has the strong support of White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, whose priorities often differ on the Syria issue. McDonough is focused on the fight against ISIS. Power wants to confront Syria’s president, Bashar al-Assad, and do more to protect the civilians being killed by both.  [So what does confront mean?  Does Power want the US military to bring down Assad?—ed]

The throngs of desperate migrants fleeing Syria and the images of children washing up on European shores have spurred the Obama administration into action, officials said.

Note that there is much discussion about how long it would take for the flow to get underway. Don’t believe it!

We know that the UNHCR has 17,000 (or more by now) prepped to come to America from their camps which house Muslim Syrians.  As soon as October 1 is here, the floodgates will open!

Islamic State spreading into North Africa (Libya and Egypt); blame Hillary and the girls!

Posted by Ann Corcoran on December 1, 2014

In case you missed the story on turkey day last week, the Washington Times published a report that we are mentioning here for two reasons.

First, as you know, Libya is the primary jumping off point for the so-called Muslim “refugees” invading Europe by the tens of thousands via the Mediterranean Sea.  So what is going to stop a few ISIS types climbing into those boats?

The three reasons Libya is an Islamic hellhole that could easily become the newest ISIS acquisition! Photo: http://www.inquisitr.com/694431/samantha-power-the-most-appalling-and-terrifying-presidential-nomination-in-decades-commentary/

And, secondly, we are posting this so that history is not forgotten—the Libya debacle is the direct result of Obama’s three witches dragging the reluctant warrior into their “responsibility to protect” scheme back in 2011.  That would be Hillary, Susan Rice and Samantha Power dubbed the “humanitarian Vulcans” in the White House according to author Edward Klein.

Klein reports in The Amateur that Power had gotten tired of rinky-dink do-gooder stuff  like worrying about Iraqi Christians as Obama’s refugee czar, so she joined the let’s go kill the Colonel chorus.  Gaddafi might have been a tyrant, but he held the country together and kept a check on the number of boats launched from Libya, which is more than we can say for Obama’s girls.

Here is the Washington Times:

In its war to create a caliphate across Syria and Iraq, the Islamic State is opening a front in North Africa, where affiliated militants are wreaking havoc in eastern Libya and Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula — presenting a complex challenge for Washington and its allies in the region.

Through its savvy use of social media and slick production of recruitment videos, the Islamic State — also known by the acronyms ISIS and ISIL — is attracting a growing number of individual jihadis to its harsh interpretation of Islamic, or Shariah, law.

“ISIL’s stated goal of expanding its caliphate and its adherence to a strict form of Shariah has definitely resonated with a collection of extremists across North Africa, who appear to be mimicking ISIL’s rhetoric and brutality,” said a U.S. intelligence official who spoke on the condition of anonymity in order to discuss security issues freely.

What remains to be seen is whether the region will face a surge of unbridled Islamic State-style violence, including beheadings. Counterterrorism analysts say there is little doubt of that — especially in Libya, where the government is under threat of being overrun by militants, and in Egypt, where the military has struggled to contain Sinai extremists for years.

There is more.

If I were the Europeans, I would be turning back every boat that leaves the coast of North Africa!  But, they won’t of course because they are such chickens.

So remember Hillary’s role in Libya in 2011 and at Benghazi a year later as the 2016 election cycle begins in earnest next month.

Could Hillary’s special Libyan refugee be deported?

Posted by Ann Corcoran on August 2, 2014

Just a reminder before I tell you about a refugee Hillary helped get to America and who is now in custody in Colorado, it was Hillary and her gal pals (I called them the three witches), Samantha Power and Susan Rice, who in their zeal to prove the theory of the “responsibility to protect” (and Power was bored with doing rinkey-dink do-gooder stuff  for Iraqi Christians) nagged Obama to join the European clamor for the ouster of Libyan strongman Col. Moammar Gadhafi (spelling varies).

Look where we are now—Libya has turned into a terrorist stronghold, our US Ambassador and three other Americans are dead, and Libya has become the primary launching pad for the invasion of Europe (see all of our posts on the migrant invasion, by clicking here).

In two years Obama will be out of the picture, but the three “humanitarian Vulcans” will still be around.

Hillary’s special Libyan “refugee!”

Al-Obeidi (a lawyer!) who received international attention when she charged that Gadhafi’s men raped her.

A Libyan woman, helped by Hillary to get refugee status in the US (at the point where Hillary and her gals were making their case against Gadhafi), has racked-up crimes in Colorado and could be deported reports a Boulder, CO  newspaper.

The Libyan government said she was mentally ill.  Were they right?

Imagine what this woman is costing taxpayers of Colorado for all of her criminal problems.

Excellent reporting from the Boulder Daily Camera (Hat tip: ‘pungentpeppers’):

In 2011, Iman al-Obeidi became the international face of defiance against Moammar Gadhafi’s regime in Libya after she claimed she’d been brutally raped by more than a dozen of the dictator’s men.

Three years later, as a political refugee living in Boulder, al-Obeidi is “destitute,” according to her attorneys, and has been arrested three times. On probation already in an assault on a police officer, she faces trial this fall in a second assault case — which could jeopardize her ability to stay in the U.S.

Al-Obeidi, now 32, became the center of a media frenzy after she stormed into a hotel room in Tripoli and told the international press there that she was raped after being detained at a security checkpoint. In turn, the Libyan government claimed al-Obeidi was an alcoholic and mentally ill.

Al-Obeidi’s booking photo from Boulder County jail.

After a failed attempt to seek refuge in Qatar, al-Obeidi was granted asylum in the U.S. in June of 2011 and, with the help of then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, she settled in Denver as a political refugee.

There is much more, read it all!

And, note that Al-Obeidi has a long wikipedia entry as the ultimate victim—a (supposedly) raped refugee.  LOL!  The Washington Post called her a “symbol of defiance against Gaddafi.”

One of the complaints I’ve made repeatedly here at RRW is that the Refugee Resettlement program is often used by the State Department to score political points, or bring in refugees who aren’t otherwise deserving of a gift of American citizenship, but for political reasons they are invited anyway—is that what Hillary did?

See #7 in my testimony to the US State Department here, on this point.  I was talking about whole ethnic groups of refugees we bring in, but it applies to certain individuals as well.  When Qatar didn’t want Al-Obeidi (after they protected her for awhile) maybe that was a sign that something wasn’t quite right.

7)   Congress needs to specifically disallow the use of the refugee program for other purposes of the US Government, especially using certain refugee populations to address unrelated foreign policy objectives—Uzbeks, Kosovars, Meshketians and Bhutanese (Nepalese) people come to mind.

Al-Obeidi will never be deported—-where would we deport her to, surely not Libya because the argument will be made that her sexual indiscretions (or even the suggestion of them) will get her a death sentence from the Islamic extremists now in control of that country (thanks to Hillary).

And, thanks to Hillary she will be our problem for the rest of her life!  Hey! Maybe Hillary could take her to CHAPPAQUA and support her!  Bill might even like that!

Central African Republic: Get ready for it, new wave of refugees thanks to Muslims taking power

Posted by Ann Corcoran on December 9, 2013

Christian refugees look for help at the Bangui airport Friday. AP photo

They are slaughtering us like chickens said one Christian refugee over the weekend (here)!

Meanwhile, UN Ambassador Samantha Power begs the Muslim leader of the largely Christian country to play nice!

From AFP:

Power: We have “deep concern.”

New York — Washington’s United Nations envoy called the Central African Republic’s interim President Michel Djotodia on Sunday to express “deep concern” over the rising tide of violence in the country.

Ambassador Samantha Power urged Djotodia to “ensure the arrest of perpetrators of recent atrocities,” urging him to denounce violence and call for an immediate return to law and order, her office said.

Power also asked Djotodia to “use his influence to reduce inter-religious tensions and protect civilians” and to give “full support” to French and African Union forces that are deploying to the Central African Republic.

Hundreds have died in a fresh outbreak of bloodshed in the Central African Republic, which has been in turmoil since a coalition of Muslim fighters led by Djotodia known as the Seleka overthrew the country’s leader Francois Bozize in March.

Djotodia became interim president following Bozize’s ouster, making him the first Muslim leader of the mostly Christian country.

[…..]

Reports have described a series of horrors, with security forces and militia gangs razing villages, carrying out public killings and perpetrating widespread rapes.

So, just looking at the official photo of Samantha Power, one knows Muslim leader Djotodia doesn’t take her seriously.

Top photo is from a story with more details at the South China Morning Post.
