Secret decoder ring needed! This time in Virginia and Arizona

Posted by Ann Corcoran on July 5, 2018

I’ve been joking about the fact that the vast majority of news stories about violent crimes report that the “man” was responsible and then go on to name the arrested man, not as Bob Jones or Fred Smith, but Mohamed A. Abdullahi or Chukwumankpam Mbegbu.

adios america cover

Ann Coulter made light of this fact in her best seller “Adios America.”

She said citizens need “secret decoder rings” when reading news stories in order to figure out where certain violent criminals came from and how they got to America (illegally? or through some legal program) because the police and the media are going to keep those facts secret unless an enterprising reporter does some serious digging.

Two more such cases came to my attention over the last few days.

See what I mean! The wailing for workers is the latest PR push for refugee industry; Virginia this time!

Posted by Ann Corcoran on May 24, 2018

On the heels of my post yesterday, here is the first of what surely will be many stories about how refugee workers are needed for meatpackers and hotel chains—this time in Virginia.

Chobani and Soros

The economic study being cited is from the Tent Foundation a creation of Hamdi Ulukaya (Mr. Chobani Yogurt) shown here with the great promoter of cheap immigrant labor and a borderless world, George Soros.

I guess they realized the ‘humanitarian’ shtick was no longer effective, they have come right out and admitted what this is all about—workers willing to work cheap.

Here (below) is the whole flimsy Virginia Public Radio bit.

Expect to hear more of this line that by the time they are here for 20 years, refugees give back to the economy, but never any mention about how much these low wage workers with 6 children consume via welfare, schooling, medical care, housing etc. for those first 20 years!

And, it won’t be lost on our Minnesota readers who have been told time and again that the numbers are not available for what it costs the state to take care of its refugee population.

If no numbers are available, how can this Public Radio reporter say this?  Because he is mindlessly parroting the globalist Tent Foundation.

Harrisonburg, Virginia: Perdue admits that they are hiring locally as refugee arrival numbers ‘plummet’

Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 29, 2018

When I saw this story yesterday at WMRA Radio , I figured it was one more of dozens of stories I mentioned here and here recently.  Talking points have obviously gone out to the gullible/biased media about the mean Trump Administration and its plummeting refugee admission numbers. I wasn’t going to bother posting it until I came to the juicy bit near the end.

Forget the humanitarian mumbo-jumbo, refugee resettlement is about finding cheap labor (supported with your tax dollars) for big corporations especially BIG MEAT and BIG CHICKEN!  And, the next time you hear about the bipartisan support for the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program remember the R’s are looking for laborers for their big business pals and Chamber of Commerce lobbyists.

Screenshot (329)

BIG CHICKEN companies like Perdue are being questioned about working conditions in plants around the country.  And, Church World Service brings them more refugee workers! Photo and story:   https://news.vice.com/article/chicken-industry-workers-wear-diapers-because-bosses-allow-no-breaks-ngo-says

From WMRA Radio:

But last month, a Perdue spokesman confirmed that refugee applicants to the Bridgewater plant have dwindled significantly, and that the company is filling positions from the local community.

Before I give you the rest of the story, you should know that Harrisonburg is in the heart of House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte’s district.  The Judiciary Committee is responsible for the Refugee Admissions Program. I’d like to know if Perdue is the reason Goodlatte has never made any significant move to reform the refugee program!

Now here is the rest of the boo-hoo story.  At least WMRA Radio tells listeners that Church World Service is being paid by the feds (by you!) for their ‘religious’ charity!

Trump’s Policy Sharply Reduces Refugee Flow to Harrisonburg

Following President Trump’s decision to sharply restrict the number of refugees allowed into the United States, the State Department has informed refugee resettlement offices nationwide to trim operations or even close. One of those offices is in Harrisonburg, which has a long history of refugee resettlement.

Harrisonburg’s general open-mindedness, low cost of living and high employment in industries that don’t demand English, such as food production, have allowed the city to resettle from 175 to 200 refugees every year.

But the feds recently informed some 40 refugee resettlement offices nationwide to cut back their operations, according to Reuters. Twenty are expected to close.

[….]

Church World Service at White House

Church World Service protesting against Donald Trump at White House.   https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/2018/01/28/church-world-service-and-hias-join-cair-to-protest-at-white-house/

Jim Hershberger runs the resettlement office for Church World Service in Harrisonburg. Church World Service is one of nine agencies*** nationwide that contracts with the federal government to resettle refugees. He says ten branches of those agencies nationwide have already closed. Although there are no plans for the Harrisonburg office to close as of yet, it hasn’t had a single refugee arrival in two months since mid-February.

[….]

I am worried that we won’t have the money to continue to offer services to refugees like we like to do. [How about doing the hard work of raising PRIVATE money!—-ed]

[….]

Church World Service is funded by the federal government to help recent arrivals find jobs and apartments, and to enroll them in English classes, driving classes, and their children into school.

In fact, according to our most recent accounting, Church World Service is 71% funded out of your taxpayer wallets!

Here it comes! Slaughterhouse workers needed!

WMRA Radio continues…..

The changes are being felt at the poultry plants too. Poultry is a big industry in Rockingham County and long considered a pipeline for immigrants and refugees.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Perdue’s Kenneth Lambert. It’s a great business model for Perdue. Federally-funded Church World Service finds them workers and the taxpayers subsidize the other needs of refugee workers with food stamps, low income housing, medical care, etc.

Two years ago, the workforce at the Perdue plant in Bridgewater was 42 percent immigrant, according to its Director of Operations Kenneth Lambert.

KENNETH LAMBERT: Our countries are made up of Mexico, El Salvador, Guatamala, Honduras, Cuba, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Bosnia, Russia, Kenya and right now we have a couple of people from Uganda.

But last month, a Perdue spokesman confirmed that refugee applicants to the Bridgewater plant have dwindled significantly, and that the company is filling positions from the local community.

No comment from school officials regarding the refugee slowdown.  Gee, I wonder why?

Fewer refugee arrivals may impact local schools as well.

It’s really where the city’s status as a melting pot comes to life. Students in city public schools come from 51 foreign countries and speak more than 56 languages.

Because Harrisonburg High has long been overcrowded, plans are underway for a second high school. But when asked if fewer refugees arrivals have eased the overcrowding, school administrators didn’t want to comment.

More here.

Next up: Catholic Bishops (big business headhunters) whine too!

***These are the nine supposed non-profit groups (LOL! Six are ‘religious charities’) that act as headhunters for big business which welcomes the cheap, compliant labor (refugees can’t go home and don’t know how to complain!).

The number in parenthesis is the percentage of the nine VOLAGs’ income paid by you (the taxpayer) to place the refugees, line them up with jobs, and get them signed up for their services!  From most recent accounting, here.

Moneybags Miliband (with Harriet) is responsible for changing Charlottesville by changing the people

Posted by Ann Corcoran on February 5, 2018

That would be Charlottesville, Virginia.

When I saw the story headline at something called The Daily Progress, I initially wasn’t going to bother reading the Op-Ed by Harriet Kuhr because I figured anything with Daily Progress in it would be some commie publication.

It is, in fact, the sole daily newspaper in the Charlottesville area, and the International Rescue Committee is the only federal resettlement contractor working to change that portion of Virginia.

Opinion/Commentary: New immigration policies have been devastating

(Trump is a bad guy column!)

Harriet with IRC map

Here is Harriet in 2015 selling the IRC’s ‘humanitarian’ work to another unsuspecting Virginia town, a suburb of Charlottesville.  I see the map was made before the IRC captured Montana. http://www.dailyprogress.com/news/scottsville-residents-hear-about-the-challenges-of-refugee-resettlement/article_5c822e12-7b83-11e5-8fea-7b43cffc988b.html

But, I’m glad I read it because opinion writer and International Rescue Committee‘s face in that city, Harriet Kuhr, has an important factual error that I see repeated by the Open Borders Left whenever they get a chance.

They say that Ronald Reagan is responsible for the Refugee Act of 1980.  It just ain’t so.

He presided over it during its first year (as it admitted thousands escaping Communism), but it was the brainchild of Senator Ted Kennedy (who else!) and it was signed in to law by Jimmy Carter (who else!).  See here March 18,1980.  (It was 8 months later that Reagan whipped Carter by winning the Presidency.)

And, just so you know, when these Leftists try to make the program sound like it was a bipartisan effort they are spinning like tops.  See the list of co-sponsors to the Kennedy bill (not exactly a balanced group):

Sen. Javits, Jacob K. [R-NY]
Sen. McGovern, George [D-SD]
Sen. Randolph, Jennings [D-WV]
Sen. Pell, Claiborne [D-RI]
Sen. Ribicoff, Abraham A. [D-CT]
Sen. Moynihan, Daniel Patrick [D-NY]
Sen. Williams, Harrison A., Jr. [D-NJ]
Sen. Riegle, Donald W., Jr. [D-MI]
Sen. Sarbanes, Paul S. [D-MD]
Sen. Hatfield, Mark O. [R-OR]
Sen. Tsongas, Paul E. [D-MA]
Sen. Biden, Joseph R., Jr. [D-DE]  [To this day, Delaware only takes less than 10 refugees a year!–ed]

So here is what Harriet is trying to sell to the good citizens of Charlottesville at The Daily Progress:

Miliband in Manhattan

This is Harriet’s boss in Manhattan! British national and one-worlder, IRC CEO David Miliband, pulls down an annual salary package of $671,749 (doing well by doing good!). In 2015, the IRC received 66% of its $688,920,920 budget from US taxpayers! A “VALUED TRADITION” THAT MUST END!

The Refugee Resettlement program is one of the United States’ most valued traditions. It is the bar that sets the standard for other resettlement programs; an effort above party politics that enshrined the core common values of our nation to tackle global problems right here: that families ought to be together; that our children should have a better future than we had; that hard work, persistence, strength, and character would be treasured in our great land.  [Our children means something very different to me!—ed]

Ronald Reagan began this tradition, and his successors strengthened it. They understood that it supported our global leadership and national safety, and it stoked a humanitarian tradition, an entrepreneurial spirit, and collective economic success. [What a load of mumbo-jumbo!—ed]

This tradition is something we at IRC see come alive every day, thanks to the talented and resilient people we, and the Charlottesville community, have the opportunity to work with.

Read the rest of her pitch here and see comments.  You can see our friend Jim Simpson has jumped in.

This other commenter, Brad London, immediately goes to the sorry old ‘you are a racist’ line and yammers about the Native Americans.

If he wants to give America back to the Indians, then I want to give North Africa and most of the Middle East back to its early inhabitants (before the Muslim invaders came)—to Christians and Jews!

Here is screenshot of the Simpson/London exchange. If you want to get in on the action, click here.

Simpson v. London

See my archive on the International Rescue Committee here. It is the financially largest of the nine contractors that are paid to place refugees in to your towns and cities.

(Numbers in parenthesis below are the percentages of their funds that come involuntarily from you).

And, I will continue to repeat: as long as taxpayers pay for fake non-profit groups like these to distribute refugees around the country and then to politically organize against us (who disagree with them), the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program will never be reformed.

Virginia: Iraqi refugee to plead guilty today to lying on refugee application

Posted by Ann Corcoran on June 28, 2017

She failed to disclose a family relationship to an Iraqi terrorist.  Ho hum! There was no American fatally affected.

I’m joking because in a story I read within the last day, but can’t remember where, a pro-more-refugees advocate qualified his comment about no refugees committing terror attacks to say—no US refugee committed a fatal terror attack on US soil.  That isn’t true, and, the main reason there aren’t more is that the cases have been foiled!

This is the story we reported in March.

(Dear Supreme Court, family members lie!)

We learn that the Iraqi female liar will admit guilt today.

From AP at the Lincoln Journal Star (hat tip: Joanne). BTW, I searched and searched for any photos of the perps, but found none.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — A Virginia woman living in the U.S. as an Iraqi refugee for the last decade is scheduled to plead guilty Wednesday to federal charges after being charged with hiding her ties to the kidnapper of a U.S. contractor. [Translation—she lied on her refugee application and in her screening interviews!—ed]

Enas (eh-NAHS’) Ibrahim of Vienna was charged in March on allegations of visa fraud.

Prosecutors say Ibrahim, her husband and her husband’s brother all came to the U.S. and settled in the suburbs of the nation’s capital after receiving refugee status.

But prosecutors say the two men are brothers of Majid Al Mashhandani, who admitted participating in the 2004 kidnapping of U.S. contractor Roy Hallums.

Fraud, fraud and more fraud!

In addition to leaving out any reference to the Islamic terrorist brother because people told them in Iraq (who told them, a refugee contractor!) that they would be rejected from the refugee program if they revealed the terrorist brother, they FABRICATED PERSECUTION STORIES FOR THEMSELVES.

See the DOJ press release from March with all of the details of their lies.

How many more Iraqis lied to get in as refugees and to gain citizenship?

Checking Wrapsnet just now, I see that since the US opened the floodgates for Iraqis we have admitted 140,576 with no end in sight!

Virginia is number seven in the top ten receiving states with 4,536.

Alaska got 49 and Hawaii got a whopping four!

Terrible Virginia murder case goes against message of the leftist open borders propaganda

Posted by Ann Corcoran on June 20, 2017

Update: Story being dropped “like a hot brick” here at WND!

Diversity is supposed to be beautiful, right?  Immigrants who come to the great American melting pot are supposed to love and respect multiculturalism, right?  Unlike in Europe, we do everything to foster ‘assimilation’ of races, religions and cultures, right?

Well, here is a case that goes so far against the Left’s message that many predict it will disappear so fast you will think you imagined it …  This is not supposed to happen!

It is just run-of-the-mill road rage says Fox 5 headline:

Man charged with murder of Muslim teen; road rage appears to have led to killing, police say

HERNDON, Va. – A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder after police say he killed a 17-year-old Reston girl whose body was found in a pond hours after being reported missing during an early morning road rage incident in Virginia.

Illegal alien from El Salvador allegedly murdered Nabra Hassanen a Muslim teenager walking with a group from the ADAMS Center.

Fairfax County Police say the victim, Nabra Hassanen, was with a group of teenagers of about 15 people walking and riding their bikes along Dranesville Road from a McDonald’s restaurant at around 3:40 a.m. Sunday. The group got involved in a dispute with the driver of a vehicle after they attended an overnight event at the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Center, a mosque located in Sterling and is one of the largest mosque in the country.

Police say a teenage boy got into an argument with the driver, identified as 22-year-old Darwin Martinez Torres.

Continue reading here for awful details.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement said in a statement regarding Torres [guess this means he was not a DACA darling?—ed]

“On June 19, ICE lodged a detainer on Darwin Martinez Torres, a citizen and national of El Salvador, with the Adult Detention Center in Fairfax, Virginia. ICE lodges detainers on aliens who have been arrested on local criminal charges when the agency has probable cause to believe an alien is removable from the United States. Mr. Martinez Torres has no prior encounters with ICE.”

[….]

On Monday afternoon, Fairfax County police say the killing appears to be the result of a road rage incident and they have no evidence that Hassanen was targeted.

“No evidence has been recovered that shows this was a hate crime,” said Fairfax County police spokesperson Julie Parker. “Nothing indicates that this was motivated by race or by religion.”

However, Mahmoud Hassanen, the victim’s father believes otherwise and says his daughter was targeted because she is Muslim.

Just a reminder readers that this is Virginia, a leading diversity-is-beautiful state if there ever was one! You can tell the authorities are working overtime to keep a lid on the story.

This is a story, not about refugees, but one about the idea that we can continue to pour immigrants (legally and illegally) of all sorts in to the US at such a rate that the tensions will inevitably build and become so disruptive to the social order that civil unrest is inevitable.

If you see more on this case going forward, please send links my way.

Memory lane: Yes, Virginia, US refugees commit crimes

Posted by Ann Corcoran on May 22, 2017

“They went through terror themselves, so I couldn’t imagine them inflicting that on anyone else.”

(Barbara Smith, former Catholic Refugee Agency employee, told the court)

Again and again, I hear from citizen activists who tell me that their local refugee advocates/contractors or interfaith groups are spreading the tall tale that refugees admitted to the US have no record of committing crimes.  I know it is preposterous, but they continue to spread the lie.

To give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they really don’t know the truth because in fact the mainstream media has gone out of its way to not report refugee crimes on a national level. Yes, local TV and print media do report the crimes, but rarely have these stories made it to even the cable networks.

So, because there is no central clearing house of refugee crimes/terror arrests etc., I’ll try to re-cap some cases every few days.  You might also want to visit my ‘Crimes’ category to do some research yourselves, but I warn you it is huge!

Today, let’s go over the story of the 2009 Roanoke kidnapping plot thwarted by the quick-thinking would-be victim.

I’m especially interested in this story today because the perps should have finished their prison sentences some time ago and I wonder if they have been deported as was originally announced they would be.  (See my previous post on deportations to Africa)

Thank goodness I snipped a lot of the 2009 story about the Roanoke kidnapping because the original link is now dead. For details on what the Roanoke REFUGEES plotted to do, see the FBI press release here (May 8, 2009).

My post from November 3, 2009:

Yesterday a judge in Roanoke, Virginia sentenced four former refugees to short prison sentences and deportation when they are released from prison in the attempted kidnapping case that shocked rural Virginia.

From the Roanoke Times (link is now dead):

The plot was bizarre, carefully planned and amateurishly executed: To make money in America, three young men from refugee families set out to find a wealthy woman, abduct her from her home and hold her for ransom.

Now an Obama-appointed District Judge, Judge Michael Urbanski, noting their refugee status, called the case “sad” here: https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/2009/05/18/refugees-arrested-in-roanoke-va-for-plot-to-kidnap-women-for-ransom/

It all unraveled as soon as Audrey Levicki answered the door to her Southwest Roanoke County home.

Suspicious that the two men were not the Red Cross volunteers they claimed to be, Levicki braced the door with her foot and then slammed it shut on the arm of the one who tried to reach inside.

The two men ran off, despite months of planning and a getaway car waiting at the end of the driveway with rope, handcuffs and other tools of a kidnapping. The duo was quickly arrested along with two accomplices, setting in motion a series of unintended consequences that culminated Monday at a sentencing hearing in U.S. District Court in Roanoke.

Levicki, whose intended fate was to be held in a rundown camper until her captors could collect up to $1 million from her corporate executive husband, said that she is now a prisoner in her own home.

“My life went to hell on April 6,” Levicki said in a statement to Judge James Turk, recounting how the incident led to fearful days, sleepless nights and a loss of security so profound that she no longer ventures outside to feed the dog unless armed with a baseball bat.

For the three African natives who tried to kidnap Levicki — Luke Musa Elbino, 20; Mohammed Hussein Guhad, 20; and Joshua Kasongo, 19 — the consequences went beyond the five-and-a-half-year prison terms they received at the end of a daylong hearing.

Once they are released from prison, the three face almost certain deportation back to Somalia, Sudan and Rwanda — countries their families fled when they were boys to escape civil war and genocide.

Then here is the ultimate in liberal do-gooder hubris:

“They went through terror themselves, so I couldn’t imagine them inflicting that on anyone else,” Barbara Smith, the retired head of the nonprofit Refugee and Immigration Services* office in Roanoke, said while testifying for the defendants.

People like Smith assume that when the US shows kindness, the kindness will be returned.  She can’t believe that young men plucked from the hell hole of Africa could bite the hand that feeds them.

Go here for more of that November 2009 post.

So there we go, refugee criminals (it is a good thing they were really dumb!). Where are they today? Back in Africa or walking the streets of Anytown, USA?

Recommendation for citizens in ‘pockets of resistance:’ consider, as one of our readers did, making a poster or handout with refugee crime/terrorist cases.  Pick maybe the top ten you find on these pages or elsewhere and have it handy to distribute.

Iraqi refugees arrested in Virginia for lying on their refugee admission applications

Posted by Ann Corcoran on March 30, 2017

They lied more than once!

The first whopper was a lie of omission.  They failed to mention that their brother was a terrorist. And, at least one of them made up his “persecution” story to justify his admission to the US as a refugee.

Hasan admitted to making false statements and creating his persecution story.

If the story sounds familiar, lying on ones refugee application is what caught the two Iraqi refugee terrorists in Kentucky now doing life in prison at taxpayers’ expense.

There were a couple of brief stories about this Virginia case in the news over the last few days which I never could find time to get to, but this morning I’m seeing the full Dept. of Justice press release and posting it below in its shocking entirety! (emphasis is mine)

Iraqi Refugees Arrested and Charged With Immigration Fraud

Yousif Al Mashhandani (“Yousif”), 35, of Vienna, Virginia, and Adil Hasan, 38, of Burke, Virginia, who are full biological brothers, were arrested this morning. The third individual charged is Enas Ibrahim, 32, also of Burke, who is the wife of Hasan. Each are charged with attempting to obtain naturalization contrary to law. The defendants will have their initial appearance today in front of Magistrate Judge Ivan D. Davis at 2 p.m. at the federal courthouse in Alexandria, Virginia.

Acting Deputy Attorney General and U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Dana J. Boente, Assistant Director in Charge Andrew W. Vale of the FBI’s Washington Field and Special Agent in Charge Patrick J. Lechleitner of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Washington, D.C., made the announcement.

According to the affidavit in support of the criminal complaint, on Nov. 1, 2004, a U.S. citizen, identified as R.H., was kidnapped and held with other hostages for months in horrible conditions in an underground bunker. After a raid in 2005 freed the hostages, Majid Al Mashhadani (“Majid”), who is a full biological brother of Yousif and Hasan, was detained and admitted his complicity in the kidnapping of R.H.

According to the affidavit in support of the criminal complaint, Yousif was admitted into the U.S. as a refugee in 2008.

In May 2013, Yousif resided in Vienna and applied for naturalization as a U.S. citizen. In connection with Yousif’s applications for citizenship, his fingerprints were taken. According to an FBI fingerprint specialist, analysis conducted in November 2013 determined that Yousif’s fingerprints match those found on a document at the underground bunker where forces rescued R.H. and others in Iraq in 2005.

According to the affidavit in support of the criminal complaint, Yousif, Hasan and Ibrahim are lawful permanent residents and have applied to naturalize and become U.S. citizens. On various applications and forms throughout their respective immigration processes, each has provided an extensive list of family members and information of their respective family trees; however, none listed any reference to Majid.

According to the affidavit in support of the criminal complaint, on March 4, 2016, FBI agents interviewed Yousif, Hasan and Ibrahim. When FBI agents asked Yousif why he failed to include reference to Majid on the family tree form, Yousif said he omitted reference to Majid because, when he was a refugee, he was told by others applying for refugee status that he would not be allowed into the U.S. if any immediate family members had a criminal background. Hasan admitted to FBI agents that Majid was his brother. Hasan and Ibrahim each admitted they discussed not including Majid’s name on their applications for refugee status because their connection to Majid might delay their ability to gain such status.

According to the affidavit in support of the criminal complaint, to justify his application for refugee status, Yousif reported that in 2006, while working as an anti-corruption investigator for the Iraqi Commission on Public Integrity in Iraq, he started receiving threats from a Shiite militia known as the “Al Mahdi Militia,” in order to coerce Yousif to drop a particular corruption investigation. Yousif said that in May 2006, Hasan was kidnapped by the Al Mahdi Militia, and was released only after Yousif arranged to drop the investigation in question and helped pay a large ransom. Yousif said that after Hasan was released, he reopened the corruption investigation, only to flee to Jordon in October 2006 after his parents’ house was burned down.

According to the affidavit in support of the criminal complaint, to justify his application for refugee status, Hasan provided sworn testimony that, in 2006, he had been kidnapped and tortured by members of the Al Mahdi Army and held for nearly a month. Hasan said he was released upon the payment of a ransom of $20,000. In an interview by FBI agents in April 2016, Hasan said he was threatened in Iraq on two occasions, but made no mention of being kidnapped, held hostage and tortured for nearly a month. In a subsequent interview in October 2016, FBI agents confronted Hasan about the discrepancy in his stories and Hasan admitted to making false statements and creating his persecution story.

A criminal complaint contains allegations that a defendant has committed a crime. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent until and unless proven guilty in court. Each defendant faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison if convicted. The maximum statutory sentence is prescribed by Congress and is provided here for informational purposes. If convicted of any offense, the sentencing of the defendants will be determined by the court based on the advisory Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, which includes ICE/HSI and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Gordon Kromberg and Collen Garcia for the Eastern District of Virginia are prosecuting the case.

No mention of deportation???

And, the big question is, how many more refugees (who don’t have a high profile terrorist brother!) have lied on their refugee applications to America?

BTW, Virginia ranks #7 in the nation for the number of Iraqis placed in the state by the US Dept. of State and its contractors.  See my next post.

Hillary pal, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, vetoes refugee reporting bill

Posted by Ann Corcoran on February 25, 2017

Bills like these are really innocuous.  They don’t stop any refugee placement in the state, they simply tell state officials and the public who is in the state. The information would aide local officials in determining school capacity, housing availability and other welfare services that would need to be provided to these legal immigrants.

From CBS:

RICHMOND, Va. (NEWSPLEX) — A bill requiring an annual report on refugees resettled in Virginia has been vetoed.

terry-and-hillary

Governor Terry McAuliffe has a long association with the Clintons. Transparency has never been a top priority for these pols.

Governor Terry McAuliffe vetoed House Bill 2002 on Friday, saying the report would “send a message of exclusion to people looking for the chance to rebuild their lives” and poses a danger to them.

The legislation would have required nonprofit resettlement agencies and local affiliates that provide refugee or other immigrant resettlement services, like the International Rescue Committee, to report information regarding those settled in the Commonwealth.

The state Department of Social Services would then collate and submit a report to the governor’s office and the General Assembly each year.

The report would include information such as the total number of individuals resettled in Virginia by the agency; the locality where the individual was resettled; the individual’s age, gender and nation of origin; and whether the individual was placed through the U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program.

More here.

It would be interesting to see if Maryland Republican Governor Larry Hogan would veto a similar bill! Hogan has spoken in favor of more refugees for Maryland.

Virginia does not note refugee status in records on active Tuberculosis cases diagnosed in the state; 44 other states do!

Posted by Ann Corcoran on January 6, 2017

tb-us-surveillance_cases_fb

WTH! Too many people in US STILL have TB! Well, gee, that might be because we keep bringing in new cases!

Michael Patrick Leahy at Breitbart continued his excellent series of investigative reports on the incidence of active TB in the US refugee population with this report from Virginia.  Yesterday we told you about two other Leahy articles on TB in refugees earlier this week, see here.

Leahy on this Virginia revelation:

The state of Virginia refuses to track the number of refugees it resettles who are diagnosed with active tuberculosis (TB).

[….]

the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) does not think it should be a priority to track foreign-born TB cases by category, as do 44 states who have provided the CDC with that data since 2012 (Tennessee became the 45th state to do so in 2014) in its annual Report on Tuberculosis in the United States.

“The Virginia Department of Health does not collect the data you have requested,” a spokesperson for VDH responded when Breitbart asked to know the immigration status upon first entry of the 168 foreign-born residents of Virginia diagnosed with active TB in 2015.

For more on refugee health see our ‘Health issues’ category by clicking here. And, remember readers, your tax dollars pay for expensive TB medication (if the case is discovered!).

BTW, still have had no one tell me if volunteers, working with resettlement agencies, are trained to spot symptoms or are educated on how to protect themselves and their families from becoming infected with TB when they work with newly arrived refugees.
